now you're watching "2024 New Yamaha SR400 Walkaround Review"
the Yamaha SR400 survives in Thailand, where exhaust gas regulations are not so strict. Even if you brought it into Japan through parallel import, it would be difficult to register it as a bike that can be ridden on public roads.
The headlamp has a round design, teardrop tank, iron fenders, and has chrome accents in the begel area, mirrors, and legs.
Regarding performance, this motorbike is equipped with a 399 cc 4-stroke SOHC 2-valve air-cooled single cylinder engine.
This year, which marks the 45th anniversary of its birth, new colors have been added to the lineup, with the same air-cooled single engine mounted on a semi-double cradle frame.
There are two new colors, one is matte gray metallic and the other is silky white, The price has increased by 10,000 baht from the 2022 model to 295,000 baht -
What i realize is that, people absolutely hate to see plastic cladding and cheap stuff on their vehicles.
This is why many people are still buying and keeping old vehicles and even spend a fortune to recondition it.
Most bikes from the Japanese companies look absolutely terrible, like a bunch of random parts thrown together. Even liquid-cooled engines can look good - see Triumph or Royal Enfield classics.
I'm glad they kept the kick starter. There's only a couple of bike that still have them.
They’ve got to bring back the old 650 vertical twin

Wow. Good news!
Mannn i manifested it!!!!!
I once owned a red SR 500. I loved it. It was so fun to ride and I even took it on a long touring vacation. I'm sorry I sold it.😎
Originally it was the SR 500cc, not 400cc!
Excllent look
I wish they release it in Europe. That bike is awesome, authentic and full of charm. The clocks with their white dial are stunning.
There are still many good condition used bikes for sale in Europe, but it is a shame it is no longer available for sale here. I might have to buy 1 while I still can.
I live here in Thailand I looked into this SR400 but it's priced way, way higher than better motorcycles. Now if they still made the SR500 I would get that in a heartbeat it was such a better bike.
Should be 700 quad motor....
So they do still sell the SR400 new in Thailand in 2024 ?
@@hodaka1000 Yes, they make new SR400's here in Thailand and it sells for approx $8500.
@@SladeBling
Are made in Thailand ?
I though they'd be superceded Japanese stock from 2021
I have a 1978 SR500
@@hodaka1000I'm almost 100% positive as I checked last week. Hold on I'll double-check and get back to you.
How can u miss world's biggest two Wheeler market India 🇮🇳?? 300-600 cc segment is currently most vibrant segment

Exactly
Bro 🥹👍
U r right but apne idhar bs6 naam ki worst technology hai
Kick start forever🎉❤❤❤❤
If you said Thai Emission Regulation is not strict, you may not understand well about Emission Regulation for TIS 2915-2561 with Euro 4 Regulation. Some Country may strict on some ECE Document and Thailand share the same just different in period of time.
Hermosa.
I want one like this ❤❤
good job ..now all you got to do is offer so reasonable paint colours
Now that's more like it! Keep the style but let's have a bigger engine 😉
We need to bring it in Indonesia !
Not available in India please arrange I'm very interested to purchase this bike
They're like the ABBA revival revival band, they look virtually identical to the original impersonators
We are eagarly waiting😃 for this Bike in India...
I waited many years for this classic to be launched in india. I think its still a distant dream... So i bought a royal enfield
It's definitely avaiable in India at least since 2021, I've seen plenty of videos and pricing lists.
I had a maroon red 1980 SR 500 with mag wheels. I'd buy another if they were as good as that one. The new one totally chinsed out on the seat, it looks like an aftermarket seat cover. And the center stand is too long and is harder to pull it up compared to the old ones.
My dream is a bike
Bring back the SRX6
Simply beautiful. Maybe they can send some to the Philippines😎
Yes YAMAHA
Τα 50cc και έχουν δισκόφρενα πίσω και μίζα.Εσειςτι πουλάτε; Η μανιβέλα και το ταμπούρο κάνουν το κλασικό; Υψηλή τιμή για 400 cc αλλά καλή ποιότητα υλικών.Η μίζα υπάρχει;
bring it to uk
SR 400 when in India?
SRX600 next?
Why did they stop the 500 was very popular in SA
The "First Generation" was the SR 500 and it had alloy wheels, not spokes.
I wish they release it in INDIA..❤❤
Hi Yamaha, this sr400 pls do it in India also..
Plz sale in Japan
will it be released in India ??
the legend used to have a carburator...
Neverless on Indonesia. Only on TH-cam 😢
saya punya kok bang
We want it in Europe.
Why not launch in India
Bet its not coming to the UK
It came and went a few years ago without selling many as it was over £5k which for what it was was crazy.
Make it in INDIA 🥇🙏
Available in the United States?
????? is it here!
Thailand and Yamaha are crazy with the price of this bike. especially with bikes like the new Triumph 400 that is selling for 159.000 and 179.000. I don't see who they think is going to buy this old Yamaha.
you're right it's an expensive nostalgia bike for oldsters..like me lol.
In Thailand, from the news it is quite possible that this model of motorcycle may be sold for another 2 years because there will be a law that will require all models from now on to have a ABS. brake system.
Therefore, this model may be available for sale in another 2 years. Anyone who loves this model must hurry and own it as soon as possible.
is it worth 295,000 baht?
@@SladeBling At this price with the current technology that should be available. Personally, I think it's not worth it.
But if you like the shape history The value of the car engine model
It's almost unreasonable to think it's not worth it. The classic Japanese that is still left to be experienced. It is still a charm that can be seen today. And I'm excited every time I see one in person on the road.
I think it is time that Yamaha and other Japanese bike makers need to move their production plants to somewhere cheaper. Basically, the customers are paying for the inflated overhead in Thailand.
Nope.
Need XSR 155 in India
Why no America ? 😢😊
emission laws are too strict for U.S. market.
India want xsr 155
Better buy a second hand 😊
Looks like a Bonneville.
Make it a 500 and a cafe racer.
They don't even make motorcycles with such friendly seat heights. Shame.
Can you send me one in California?
They should have put an electric start on it, if they were going to continue manufacturing this bike in Thailand. I know several people who didn't buy it because of its lack of electric start, myself included.
Mee too
@@hiro-pc8dr The Japanese model has Electric start?
@@CrapKerouac
@@hiro-pc8dr The 1990s SRX with the e-start and monoshock was a beautiful bike.
Too bad that it will never reach North America 🥲🥲

The SR400 legend! Feck me, they were rubbish.
Get fecked SRs rule
Essas bostas paralíticos cade a 900 xrs esperada aff
what people need is the return of the Japanese 400cc 4 cylinders of the 90s-2000s. Not this crap full of plastic and clearly lazy money grab from Yamaha
Holy F* that price in Thailand is way too high. Nobody's buying it for that.
The sr400 and the sr500 were a piece of shit. My buddy owned one. 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I've got a 1978 SR500 2J2
You've got BS dribbling out the side of your mouth I don't believe you've got a buddy
😒 🤤
I remember back in the 70s. They couldn't give these things away. The 4 cylinder bikes had way more power, electric start, less vibration.
I saw it in Cycle World. I thought it was the most beautiful thing I'd ever seen.
Bullshit hype..
Yamaha Suzuki are the most stubborn manufacturers in the world, they don't bring their best middle weight masterpieces in India... They are experimenting with mediocre middle weight light weight models in India!!!
Such a shame
