Congratulations Andrew on reaching 145K subscribers! Deservedly so!! 😁
Thank you so much 😀
Andrew, have you reviewed the Framework laptop yet? If not, would appreciate seeing your review of this unique product if you can work it into your schedule.
Nice PC for the business traveler no doubt. Not a powerhouse pc but that is not what it is meant to be. Camera was good and mics okay. Speakers sounded a little flat but okay. Good machine for Office applications Excel, Word etc. Great review. Again congratulations on the 145,000 viewers on TH-cam.
Thanks William!!!
This was the best review so far about X1 Nano. Thanks!
I'm now using X1 Nano Gen 1. A very nice laptop except an issue: it doesn't have an ambient light sensor. So, it can not adjust brightness automatically. Wondering if Gen 3 have it.
They halved the Ram 😢😢😢😢😢😢
I too think that they should not have put in a P series processor in the X1 Nano considering just how small it is. Either Intel U series or the AMD 7840U with the 780M IGPU (a great combo).
That and the option to upgrade to 32gb soldered. It would have made a very compelling machine.
Theres no "x1" with AMD, I think, thats why they created the "z" line. Btw, I would prefer a 7640u at 12.5-15w max to make the battery even better without sacrificing performance.
You could just get a T14 or P14 w/ 7840U + 32RAM
that's a solid combination, light enough, long battery time, good integrated graphics card, and half of the price of X1, and probably better performance compared to 1340P
Would you say the touch display on this X1 Nano looks noticeably better than the 1080p touch display on the X1 Carbon? The display is the major reason I want to lean towards this one, other than the lighter weight (and the 1080p touch is my only option on the X1 Carbon available through my employer).
Id like to know this as well!
I'd like to see something like the yoga 11e, but with some decent power and the X1 yoga's build quality.
I have the X1 Carbon Gen 11 from my employer, and it is fantastic. I create eLearning modules and I love the size and portability.
Great to hear!
Is the touch display highly reflective.
Would you think a EGPU would be good with this laptop?
Do latest gen t14
I have a 1st gen and its one of the best laptops ive ever had.
I like how he said coming up
Replace the paste with thermal grizzly or liquid metal and no more thermals throttle. Also use a cooling fan. This is a beast with 6000+ ram
I got the version 2. And 3 thinks I don’t like.
1. Fan noise and heat. I just turn the laptop on and is like rocket.
2. Battery life no great.
3. It’s no ready for action. Sometimes I need it out of my backpack and its loading or delay.
I still use my X1 nano Gen 1 daily. But I dream for a Nano device in 2 in 1 Design with pen support. And maybe a u CPU or even arm based.
Nah that's not a ThinkPad man
dont think its reasonable to have P-series CPU. Andrew, is it possible that you have a test on Fujitsu U94/a? From what I heard it seems to have a lighter chassis with full 28watt capacity...
With no micro sd support or regular usb ports you are forced to get dongles and get the maxed out version because 512 ssd isnt enough
there is a slight inconsistency with your cinbench r23 graph.. you sure 1355u has a multicore score of 5466 cause my spectre x360 2023 (1355u) gives about 7500 (multicore cinenbench r23).. and sometimes even 7800
one laptop can have 20W PL1 while another one can have 35W PL1, in intel especially extra power makes a huge difference. That's why cooling makes and breaks intel laptops, while Ryzen laptops are great at slim form factor but not so powerful (except the new Dragon range line) in big and loud laptops
after watching lot of your videos I decided to get a macbook (after more then 25 years with Windows). Until MS/Qualcomm makes a great laptop with ARM, there is no chance to get a quiet mobile device, which lasts longer then 3-4 hours. I even do not use a stationary Dell PC with 64 gb RAM and Intel Xeon any more . Macbook Pro with M2 and 32 gb is simply faster :(
With the Carbon being so close, Lenovo should do something really unique with the Nano. Camera looks good. Microphone sounds muffled.
Agreed
If only they added more ports and had better battery life...
Can't get over that red dot in the middle 🤣 it's like a pimple on a teenager's face going to the prom 🤣!🤣!🤣!!!
If you have used one for years you cant move away from it. Its so helpful when doing little repositions of the pointer if you are editing text - i can keep my hands on the keys and simply move the pointer over and then keep typing whiteout lifting my hands. Still use a mouse and touch pad for other things but the time savings of the red dot is substantial over an hour of work.
fan in the right hand is a deal breaker...
I really liked this laptop until the one I had died - I think supporting the external monitor short circuited something related to the power cycle. I have no clue why it died, but for that reason, I wouldn't recommend it.
Everything is okay where only objection for RAM. In Asian region it's only 16GB. I hope Lenovo Malaysia will be responsible to configurability up to 64GB with 5 G Mobile Broadband 🙏
not much of a upgrade from gen 1, Ill be sticking to this 11th gen beast!
Amazing subnotebook gimped by Intel. Get a 7840U in there with 32GB of RAM.
I just want a 120hz screen
Fingerprints!
For what this laptop was designed to do, the ThinkPad X1 Nano Gen 3 (2023) is a pretty good device in my opinion. Ultra portability is the key here and as such, it's a pretty good one. The only bummer for me is the fact that there's no USB A ports but other than that, I can't really fault this. The 1080p webcam is pretty clear and so is the mic array. I do agree with Andrew that the Dolby Atmos speaker quality sounds great for a Windows laptop. In closing, if you're looking for a laptop that's Ultra portable, has good battery life, good webcam and decent speaker quality, then this would be perfect for that individual. Excellent job once again Andrew!! 👍😁
Thanks Rafael!
Great laptop but whoever thinks vends on the right hand is good design must be released(since most people are right-handed), if it get's hot, impossible to use a mouse, they belong to the back or put them in the bottom.
First Like
Thanks 🙏
What is wrong with Lenovo - Why would you cram a P series into THE ultrabook? C'mon Lenovo - you didn't learn your lesson from last year? Lenovo needs an X1-like line with AMD CPU's, and no, the Z series doesn't count.
they even put 1370p into x1c gen 11 and it maxes out at 15watt during heavy load....but they sell at a premium than 1355u, right
