A lot was advertised about the benefits of fiberglass helmets back in the 70’s but with profits driving the market today you don’t hear much about how polycarbonate transfers almost all of the impact energy to the riders head. Bell did a video back in the day showing a fiberglass helmet flex & delaminate as it hit the pavement causing the impact force to be disseminated across the shell protecting the rider. Now Bell sells mostly polycarbonate? Marketing & Profit Margins..

Helmet design and material spec has come a long way since the '70's.
Great video! What type of helmet would you recommend me, currently riding a BMW GS500
I'd recommend looking at Touring helmets. That would be either Sport-Touring or Adventure helmets depending on your style of riding.
Interesting topic, far too underdiscussed if you ask me. Great video!
Thanks for watching 😎. If there's any other topic you want us to discuss just let us know!
There are big name brand helmets that use a polycarbonate mix shell and cost $1000+ so quality is not as simple as you make out.
You missed abs helmets which is lower than thermoplastic/ polycarbonate
