To be completely honest with you, just seeing the title of this video made me instantly cry. I freaking loved parties SO much. I used to fly solo from Tracy to the event, I was out 3 nights a week dancing in the bay. Thank you so much for making this video. Words really cannot express my gratitude. You can take away the raves but you can't take the raver out out me, 4 life. I just keep looking to see if I see myself in the video. 😄
This event was thrown by g.o.a.Play Productions and to answer your question posed in the description, we most definitely did not break even on this event. Let's just say an entire documentary could be made from the stories of how all this happened and went down :) It came from a place of love at it's core for all the things that were missing from the massive events that we were getting to experience at the more private underground events. We wanted to bring that underground vibe to the masses, taking care of the little things and letting everybody know that this is all for their delight and everybody's experience is important. No lines, free water, chai, and candy, free shuttles from gated parking so cars weren't broken into, 2 semi-truck loads of bean bag chairs to sit on, and the biggest sound system that JK had done at the time for an event like this! This is a great time capsule of that night, so happy you captured this Le!
The best event I ever threw was called Devotion in Portland, OR. Also in ‘99. I lost my shirt on that party, but the vibe was so incredible I was walking on clouds for a week afterward.
If we were simply allowed to do these as a way of life, I swear we would end all wars and bring in a new age. I have my youth to this movement to be nearly prosecuted 5 times for simply bringing people together to Release All Violent Emotions. 😢❤🫶
Now this brings back some good memories!!! 85th & Baldwin, home-based, Jack London, the old Newberry WH, 3rd & Harrison(SF). All these memories flashing back at once! Man!, this was a good time! Thanks for posting this! I was a hardcore dancer in these days & wish I would have recorded all the talent that existed in these days... Today all the dancers dance the same with that same old shuffle....
The ones that were around for this period in time know , we were blessed to have the experience. These parties in oakland are some of the best times of my life, watching this 24 years later is crazy and has brought a tear to my eye, thank you so much for allowing me to watch one of the best memories of my life 24 years later on my phone. Like i have a time machine this is so amazing thank you again
Thank you for posting this! Despite the video/sound quality, it suffices to evoke beautiful memories of being at trance parties exactly around that time.
My GOD!!😁😅😁❤️❤️❤️ Whatta absolute FLOOD of memories memories from last century, to right here and present! I never got to experience any of those parties, south of the Canadian border, but in 96, my rave cherry got popped in the biggest baddest way possible, and I LIVED the Toronto rave scene for nearly 20 years after that!!😁❤️😁 Thank you so much for posting this!!
DUDE. that liquid child song... i was at my first party 'warmth' in the bay that year, but i have no clue where i was - i lived in tahoe at the time and had never been to the bay before. we got walked in from a parking lot... my friends were djs from sf (liam, owen, and their friend wu). i went to one other party that year, but can't remember the name. pretty sure wu spun there. what a trip! thanks for this, too.
If anyone asks what a REAL rave is, show them this, dear God please show them this. You've created a true spiritual moment in time. Is the warehouse still there? I'm checking the Google point Btw I was 11 or 12 when this happened lol
Not really. They made the location known ahead of time. It was held at a warehouse where they had held permitted raves before. The city of Oakland was pretty lenient with raves in the late 1990s.
Now these times shit on everything else.. good stuff bringing me back, Where those triple stack Mitsubishi 3000 GTs tho...Or the original Green Triangles...id give up my pinky toe fuck it both of um to get that recipe.... still listening to House, Trance, Jungle, and some DrumnBass....Sober.. wasnt the drugs.. it was the VIBE.... Prophecy, Atlantis, Cyberfest, Area 51...To name a few..My first was at 2nd and Cracktion "Bass Invaders" ...was that Terica From SI who said her name??? We took some kids from SSU to their first massive.. Dance Circles. Candy, glow sticks, and my Fav DJS.... Best $15-55 ever spent
I know what a noob. Hunter had all the money and hoo0k upset but never got close to ever tasting parties on this level. Probably never danced. All dressed up and noplace to go.

I have not, but I surely will!
At 44 years old, all I think about is throwing parties again because of the unity I felt with all the people together

Guys was this an illegal rave where you had to get " directions"???

85th and baldwin thats when raves were more about dancing then the drugs took over and ruined it!
Uh, I went to parties from 90 till 2005ish and was high at every party. And easily 90% of the people I interacted with were right there with me.
I went sober, i went rollin balls. Still listening today..Good Vibes!!

I know what a noob. Hunter had all the money and hoo0k upset but never got close to ever tasting parties on this level. Probably never danced. All dressed up and noplace to go.
