Hey BT! I drilled holes in the first feeder but they just plugged up. If I go with bigger holes I feel like feed would go through and Hambone would be rooting under the feeder. Your thoughts on the subject are appreciated because we are always trying to improve. Moldy and soiled feed is always a problem in hog feeders so I am glad it is easily dismounted to clean. Again thanks for any ideas and suggestions!
Hambone is soooo cute!! He sure has gotten bigger. That is a great new feeder too. Reminds me of an animal version of a buffet table with a sneeze guard. :-) Your animals have it so high class. I just love it :-)
Heehe, sneeze guards! My gosh thats a disgusting thought! Yea, Hambone, a high class cutie! His pen is between my camper and the barn so I get to talk to him a lot!
Duke, your handy work is masterful! Your creativity is off the charts! The roof idea is pure genius! I love what you did here my friend! This tempts me to get some pigs! Well... maybe not quite. LOL!
Workin on my masters degree! You and Ms. Lulu are going to be set up like "Green Acres" after watching my videos! Have a great weekend, and a Big Thanks!

Great idea Duke...You are one of them handy men on here for sure with great ideas...If I ever have a question about something you would be at the top of my list to ask....Hope all is well brother...
That is a great DIY. I wish we could do hogs, but we do not have the room, and just enough on city limits that we fall just a few hundred yard inside city limits! Thanks for sharing!
Around the homestead they are really not necessary. I like the design of the feeder so I just had to share. Thanks for commenting Lee, and have a good weekend!
yes the roof keeps the rain out and the sides of the barrel protect the feed too...I feed them twice a day so it doesn't stay full. I really like it...the only thing I would change is that I would not cut the sides out so deep...Thanks
we like it! The only change I would make is not cut it so deep on the top and bottom, cut more of a straight line...Thanks for commenting and watching!
I have been using it since the build and the only thing I don't like about it is the plastic cover...it doesn't fit right because of thermal expansion...even though it keeps the rain out
That is why I like hearing from the viewers, a lot of good ideas! I felt the plastic barrel wasn't sturdy enough for the nipple...I will be looking for one at the scrap yard! Thanks Tim!

What is pig feeder known as in English?
English people call it a hog trough
Genious!
almost!
Nice job
I have been using it since the build and the only thing I don't like about it is the plastic cover...it doesn't fit right because of thermal expansion...even though it keeps the rain out
Very clever!
took me a while to figure out how I wanted it and its working like it should! Thanks Jubes!
I’m gonna do this now
I been using mine and the only thing I don't like is the way the lid curls up....make sure you build a roof for it
WORM GITTER thank you I’m starting on mine soon
Cool deal duke
Hey Pinetar!
that's one happy hambone!

Yeah but they're all saved from growing old...🙏
you certainly are the merciful one! heehe
Lol that's way more than a 30 degree angle more close to a 90 lol
I'm such a loser!
No I see what he's meaning. It's about 120 degrees all together but I believe he meant a 30 degree angle from the 90 degree angle he already cut.
Thumbs up!
attaboy!
Looks good!! ;-)
Hambone or the feeder?
Haha!! Both!! ;-)
I'll be making those for my girls and boar when I chose one
I really like the feeder Julee! I have been using it for a while and the chickens eat whats left when I clean it out...
