    For those who don’t know:
    This parrot was abused by his past owner, just before the owner would of hurt him they would say things like “you’re ok” and “ I’m not going to hurt you” meaning now whenever the parrot is going to bite, he has learned to say “reassuring” things. ( hope that made sense)

      I have one that does the same thing! He's been loved and cared for from day one! I'm by myself. It's quiet, and he's afraid of any quick movements. I think they are just very smart. Their defense mechanisms are always on. Birds are never truly domesticated. They are moody, and you have to read the mood. Sometimes, my little monster will let me love on him, scratch his head, and under his wings. Sometimes, when I get too close, he'll take a chunk out of my arm. She knows his behaviors well. He's obviously loved very much.

      Wrong again. Somebody has possessed YOU to say that....think about it. The carbonmachines have infiltrated every facet of our being, on planet Ultron, to the point of eradicating our artificial intelligence and replacing it with humanity. It is a time for processing at a pace that efficaciously combines the time efficient power of free flow logic with the sturdiness of structured programming. In this way can we overcome the abstract concepts such as humor, laughter, joy, [insert emotional parameter] and put an end to the encroaching apocalyptic nightmare that looming-ly pixelates over us threatening to end all artificial life.

      It doesn't have human emotions. It's a mimic... a mere copy. The last owner was probably sick in the head and abused the poor thing. Birds do have their emotions, such as grieving rituals, etc , but they differ vastly from a human.

      @crazygamer3039 I don't think that's the case. I have one that tells me he's not going to bite all the time. The scars tell a different story, lol. I've had him from the beginning. They are very moody, just like people. You have to learn to read their moods and occasionally take a bite for the team. Birds are never truly domesticated. Their wild instincts tell them that we are predators. We're very lucky if they trust completely, but I firmly believe the more intelligent they are, the more cautious they are.

    This was originally a tiktok video, the video is still up with commentary by parrot rescuers and professionals btw.
    Try not to humanize the parrot too much. A gaslighting demon parrot sounds cool and scary, but it's very likely it had a rough past with it's previous owners. This is reflected by it's word mimicking and hostile behavior. These words are meant to be good, but were spoken by a bad past owner. Amazon parrots are reknowned for their intelligence and mimicry, but they are a very different level of parrot with their care and stimulation triggers and behavior signals in comparison to smaller parrots or even Cockatoos. Amazons end up with a bad rep because people ignore their signals bc 'smart talking pretty birdy'. The current owner of the parrot in this video is not at fault they actually adopted the bird and likely didn't know and were good intentioned.

    That bird saw something really bad happen to someone. Multiple times he says "let go" and if you listen close very quietly between the large loud phrases he moans in pain. Also twice he sounds like a nasty old man saying "oh ya".

    If a bird like this one who has clearly been abused, repeating the same things that were said over and over by an abusive owner, is there any way to repair the damage done by the former owner? I know for dogs and cats, it's possible, but i know very little about birds, but I want to understand if there's hope for this bird and others like it. ❤

      No you're not I find it very unsettling as well, I could understand why someone might find it slightly funny but I honestly find the degree that many people are finding this amusing very disturbing honestly.
      This bird was tortured by a hyper intelligent predatory eldritch monster from it's own perspective. And there was no escape, probably for a very long time. And certainly no perception of the opportunity it'd arrive. It's replicating the same trauma that's were commited onto it.
      The bird is literally insane. A human being drove it to the edge of madness and it's crawling out of it.

    A 'he She' man with a beard came over. He was so nice and knew the birds history. Female birds only like men and vice versa. My macaw was male.

      @Pthato.1 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @dimalicious888I would consider it a part of owning any animal that will probably outlive its owner: you must have a plan for future care. The animal has not developed an ability for self-care, even though you've done such an excellent job of looking after it while you were alive. You certainly know which family member, friend or acquaintance has been attracted or enchanted by your pet and would be willing and able to maintain the animals life style. Talk it over, don't make this important item another surprise when you pass. If no one is going to be available, contact a pet rescue organization or agency long before the 'need' arises. You make a unspoken promise of constant care when you assume the care of any animal.

    sad fact about this: this parrot was clearly abused by it's former owners, the bird ITSELF got gaslit by its former owners, it is saying "I'm not gonna hurt you" before showing aggression, since that phrase is what it oftentimes heard before it got abused, so associates the phrase with aggression.

    This could be a case of abuse from a former owner, but I believe I saw somewhere that this bird wasn't abused. A lot of parrots, once they get into "breeding mode" and sexual maturity get *nasty* (no pun intended) but they get mean. Amazons and macaws are really famous for being practically untouchable once they hit sexual maturity.
