I thought about not putting out a video today. But this video was filmed a week or so ago and I decided to put joy out in the world and I am glad you are here. Sending out good vibes to everyone. Take care of yourself. I am routing for us. ❤️
A perfectly curated life from things you love. This is what I am aspiring to in our fixer upper home. I'm glad you acknowledge things that are new because they have to be. Sometimes you have to take the pressure off and pay retail. You also encourage us to buy mostly only what we love and I think we should all do that. Less waste and more meaning. Keep being your true self!
My home is also 90% thrifted. Only new den sofa (after 20 yrs, replacing a hand-me down), four mattresses and a bunk bed set. Home is eclectic and MCM when possible. More fun to have non matchy matchy furniture. Love new life in old pieces.
Yippee - I finally found a you-tuber who has a messy desk like mine. I hate to see videos where the desk is all neat and clean claiming to work from home. Also thanks for the tour.
Your lamps are to die for. I also have a Formica and chrome table from the 50s. They are so fantastic. The original ones are going up in price. I started using thrifted stuff for the same reason. I just moved too much to haul everything when I moved. Instead I got stuff from the thrift store and when I moved I would donate everything and then buy stuff at the next place.
My home is 90% thrifted too. The only thing I bought new was my mattress and that's because I have a bad back. But I either got my furniture free or really cheap and I paint it to give it new life.
Exactly...I haven't bought a new piece of furniture in about 12 years...I live in furnished apartments because I also move to different states. I do rent small storage unit under $70 a month. The main thing is having a roof over your head that you can afford.
I was raised on a house in the American bungalow style built in 1907. There was fabulous woodwork, original lighting, pocket doors and laundry chute (among other architectural details.). I loved it. After marrying, we lived in two different older homes that were smaller and lacked enough space. Four years ago, we built a new house with plenty of room and storage with an open concept first floor. Suddenly we were ready to move and some of my furniture had no place on the main floor (open concept means a lot fewer walls and no where to put my treasures) so we got rid of quite a few things and spent thousands to get a whole new living room suite and dining set. The problem is that I never felt quite at home. Only in the last 18 months when I started thrifting home decor, art and other items have I began to become content. Homes that have a evolved over time are much more appealing to me and much more comfortable.
I can tell you I feel your comment to the bone! I always felt more at home in my grandmas house with a hodge lodge of items than my childhood home with perfectly matching rooms. There is beauty in the organicness of it all! ❤️
Loved seeing where my TH-cam thrifting girl lived and your kitties!💕💕I didn’t see your wall of treasures, so either the place or decor is different now. I watch your older videos every chance I get. It feels like I’m giggling with a friend.😂💕
There are a lot of great treasures here. I think the best treasures are the cat babies because they can love you back. I have two of those. They used to be ferals. Their cat mama brought them to my porch were cat food and milk was placed each day.
Such a nice video ..... you have some beautiful treasures, I love the white lamp with flowers and the tumble up, they are so my style ⚘⚘ xxx Most of my home is "preloved" too 🙂 xx
Oh my gosh, I had that exact Formica table set except mine was red! It had the identical curved legs on the table and chairs. I sold it this past spring after having it 15+ years. I got mine from Succotash in St. Paul. So cool to see another one!
Love your dress style..that leopard print giving me life, antique necklace look. Wearing my leopard headwrap today! Love vintage 50's because I grew up then..memories💞. NorCalifornia🌴💐
Yay! So glad you liked it. I have some holiday decor up too. I don’t always have capacity to film my home decor. It takes too much to make it “TH-cam ready” when I also work full time.
I love your side tables, coffee table, and ur headboard!! And omg I have the same cabinet with the glass sliding doors, with ur fairylamps in it! How cool!
I just found you and subscribed, you are too cool. And, I relate. I am a "collector". I have many, many thrifted vintage items as well so, you make me feel ... normal😂😂😂
I just found this channel as well. Yes, I feel right at home here on this channel with others who appreciate vintage thrift store items, every piece has a story behind it. Some of the items the owner may have had their entire life and when they pass away It ends up in the garbage or at a thrift store. I rescued a crochet doilies in a wooden frame. The back said to Laura from Grandma, this was your great grandmother's doilies and the frame was made by your grandfather. This treasure ended up at the Salvation Army. I brought it home with me.🤗
I love your place. My place has too much stuff too according to my best friend... I don't care tho. The lamp you pointed out in the beginning for $14.99, I had 2. They were my dad's cousin..when he passed, I got them as I helped clean his place out. I ended up giving one to a good friend that I antique/thrift with...That freed up a bit of space for something else. I have had many 2nd hand cats.... Still do, 2 of them.
I just found your channel...and I love your content. I'm from upstate ny and love Redbird vintage box. So am glad to have found you. Thanks for the trip down memory lane. My aunt had a kitchen table just like that, but trimmed with red, chairs too. You have so many lovely pieces. You have a lovely day dear.
Thank you for stopping by! It is so nice to virtually meet you! Oh I bet that red really popped! That sounds lovely! I hope to one day have the space for a total Midcentury dining room.
We just saw a stereoscope at a yard sale with photos. They wanted $150.00. All the furniture we own is thrifted or handed down except for the mattresses and tv. Those lamps are awesome.
I feel like stereoscopes are either really expensive or the person selling them has no idea what it is and it is really cheap... there is no in between. Those lamps will go with me to the grave! 😆 Thanks for commenting. It really helps the channel!
Heck yes! I grew up in a home where everything matched and our house looked exactly like everyone else’s home where everything matched and my soul feels so much more at home now. ❤️
Thanks! I actually have a video on cluttercore styling that applies to my space. I love all my little things around. Less items isn’t really something I enjoy! th-cam.com/video/S8dwRINwfLc/w-d-xo.html
Hey, not everyone’s home is people just trying to repeat magazine spreads without personality. I look forward to seeing your home tour video… also *too 😘

I feel the same, I did a video yesterday of my Wednesday thrift finds because I couldn't do it Wednesday

I really like homes that look like an assemblage of life. My home looks a lot like my grandmas house. Special indeed!
Oh my gosh, I had that exact Formica table set except mine was red! It had the identical curved legs on the table and chairs. I sold it this past spring after having it 15+ years. I got mine from Succotash in St. Paul. So cool to see another one!

Leopard head wrap! Yesssss!!! 😍😍😍 Sounds like you grew up in the golden age and right in the spot of influence too! Thanks for stopping by!
That quilt!!! It makes my heart happy that you rescued that quilt. I'm sure someone's Granny made that quilt.❤️
My family is all quilters except for me. So I appreciate the work that went into it.

I am so impressed you have fairy lamps! It is kinda a niche thing! Love it my dear! 😘
I just found you and subscribed, you are too cool. And, I relate. I am a "collector". I have many, many thrifted vintage items as well so, you make me feel ... normal😂😂😂
Welcome to the ‘normal’ club! 😂😆👍

Love the bedroom lamps and metal cabinet. Glad to see a home that is so unique and cozy❤️🇨🇦
Thank you!
Love the headboard it's gorgeous

PS....I grew up in the 50s and 60s. Your kitchen table looked exactly like the one we had.
It doesn’t matter what other people think! Sometimes more is more! I used to think I was a minimalist but at the end of the day this makes me happier!
I totally enjoyed that you're very smart person person after my own heart there

Wow 🤩 I feel like there’s a rich history behind every item! Greetings from Florida
Hey FL! I used to live in Orlando. I just moved into a new condo so there will be a new version of this video coming this year!
@@KatherineYoung can’t wait to see it!
Cute home
Thank you!
Yes it looks thrifted.
Heck yes! I grew up in a home where everything matched and our house looked exactly like everyone else’s home where everything matched and my soul feels so much more at home now. ❤️
❤
😀
You r so unique and adorable
You are too sweet! Thank you!
I like your space but it’s little clutter looking. Less stuff will make your room more cozy and highlight the bigger item in the room.
Thanks! I actually have a video on cluttercore styling that applies to my space. I love all my little things around. Less items isn’t really something I enjoy! th-cam.com/video/S8dwRINwfLc/w-d-xo.html
A little ? Way too much cluttered , it even looks dirty !
@@mommygarcia9137 stop being a garbage person.
Matching furniture sets?? Boring. Beautifully curated home? Yes please.
Your home has some great pieces but it is way too cluttered !! Wow to much stuff !!
