    Thank you VERY much for your belt replacement tutorial! I run a landscaping division for one of my brother-in-law‘s companies. Earlier today wow doing our routine post cut blowing off of our John Deere zero turn, I noticed a frayed deck/blade belt, & was quite frankly amazed that it hadn’t broken or snapped while cutting the yard that we had just completed. We always keep extra belts on hand…so myself, along with one of our 2 high school students (summer helpers), used your video to get us across the finish line in replacing on our 9 series John Deere Z-track 60inch deck belt. There were many good videos available, and I appreciated all of them, but yours was in my opinion the best by far. 👍🏻 It was not only the knowledge or information, but the application as well! I also appreciated the calm demeanor in which you delivered, instructions to the rest of us. So, thank you! Your tutorial was greatly appreciated 👏🏻🙌🏻🙂 Oh, and it worked perfectly! 😎 God bless you and your business and you are appreciated.

    Delivered a nice even cut, has the super tight turning ability th-cam.com/users/postUgkx1VWTrayKBdCKAjzAcZ_Eg4dhHTae3LkN also recommend I was looking for, and is just a blast to drive. It takes a little bit to get used to driving one after driving a normal tractor style, but once you've got it, you've got it. If you're cutting lines, you have to be careful spinning the mower around or the back tire will dig a bare spot. Just take it nice and slow during the turn and then it's back to full throttle across the yard!

    Thanks, Mike. Great video. Mine is a 727A ZTrak so not exactly the same, but close enough. Your instructions were clear and easy to follow. I picked up some very helpful tips which saved me some time and curse words! I used an ax handle to push the tensioner arm back, worked well.

    An alternate part # for the JD belt is Gates Bladerunner 7086BR (5V 5/8" x 182") (Alternate/OEM Part Number(s): TCU30356, TCU35604). I order these from Rockauto for $52.89 for a Z960M 60". I sometimes buy from the dealer in a pinch but usually buy at least a couple when buying from Rockauto to make the shipping vs savings work out. The very same belt at Napa is $119.99. This is just an fyi for anyone interested due to the fact that cross-referencing of part #'s can be very frustrating.

    Excellent video. I hope it also applies to my Z830A deck belt routing. UPDATE: Called my JD dealer and he said the Z830A and Z930 routings are the same.

    Thanks, this was helpful! I have a Z960M, and the TCU35604 is the belt listed for it. So, you can add Z960 to your included models list if you're so inclined :-).

    You can also use your ratchet to lose the tension on the pulley , look for the square hole next to tensioner , thanks for the vid

    If you pause it on 4:05, you'll see a vertical metal bar that the belt is close to. It's the bar on the left side of that window the belt was fed through. My mower belt is rubbing that bar. The bar has been worn down from contact. Is the belt supposed to graze this bar??

    • @mikemiller3462
      @mikemiller3462  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Did you install it correctly where it’s not rubbing on the pulley? I’ve made that mistake before where the pulley was contacting the spring and it cut through it.

    my tension arm is much longer and pivots near the front of the deck. I got mine all back together but the belt is way too tight I thinking I misrouted it somehow

    I have a Z925a and apparently the model you are working on has ALL 8 belt retention guides permanently removed so your video doesn’t help AT ALL!

    • @mikemiller3462
      @mikemiller3462  ปีที่แล้ว

      Guides for this model are all still there as can be seen near the deck pulleys in the video. Sorry if it didn’t help you, at least it’s helping some others.
