Your unboxing and rambling are my favorites. While watching, I feel like I'm sitting across the table from you and watching and listening to whatever it is you're saying.
Finally! Been eagerly anticipating this unboxing almost as much as I’m anticipating receiving my copy Also “Gerald of the Riviera” is hilarious and amusingly close to Geralt of Rivia.
A gameplay with Henry Cavill would be so cool!! And that video would do crazy well and show up everywhere I think! Good luck making that happen, I'm rooting for you 🤞🏻
I am a huge fan of the witcher (read the books, played all the games, watched the TV show) and I'll be watching the show without Henry in it, but I can't imagine anyone else being as good in the role. This game was the first thing I ever backed on a crowdfunding site after spending many years waiting for retail instead of taking the risk, I just had to have all of these minis to paint and put around my home office. I've since backed a few other games now that I've "broken the ice" on backing stuff and I'm happy to have made the switch, it makes things more fun and interesting along the journey. One of your initial reviews of this game was the first video I watched on this channel, but I've stayed because I enjoy your candid talks and efforts to remain impartial despite potential conflicts of interest. Much Respect 😀
Damaged boxes like that used to bug me until I found a good way to fix it. I fold a piece of Bristol paper cut to size and glue it into place using pva glue to solidly repair the damage. It’s not pristine, but it is pretty structurally sound. I think in future I might send a picture of my fix and ask for a small credit for my hassle, that’s a good compromise. It is time/work/hassle to repair this stuff and I do think some small compensation makes sense.
I’ve done the same several times as I seem to have had bad luck with shipping (that, or retailers send their damaged boxes to online purchasers so in-store items are pristine)… in every case but one I was offered a discount or credit, and in the one case I wasn’t, things changed after I left a negative review (and no, this wasn’t blackmail). Small damage absolutely bothers me for things I’ve paid full price for, but I try to be rational, and if discounts give me more budget for more games, I’m satisfied.
Got my all-in last thursday. Only complain I am having is that the big box barely fits all cards when you use the sleeves that come with the all-in, let alone the additional dice, coins and mounted eredin. In the end I managed to fit everything without breaking up the card stacks too much, but that took waaaaay too long. So the second a 3rd party is releasing a better insert that plastic tray is getting replaced.
I agree about the insert not being ideal for ALL-in. Nor did I like how the boxes combined and I suspected I wouldn't too late to reverse my decision for that selection. I regret it now. So now I have this silly box where it won't behave like any other box I have so I have to be careful.
I received my copy a couple of weeks back and have been playing it non stop. Didn't go full in when backing and not sure if I will pick up items at retail. Thanks for an awesome video. Take care
The weirdest incident I had with getting a game was with cloud spire. The whole lid of the Core box was filled with green mold. Must have been sitting in a warehouse for a while. I ended up blow drying the lid, to get rid of the mold.
I found myself screaming at the video 3 days old "HER NAME IS CIRI!!!" and "HIS NAME IS GERALT!!!" lol. Looks like a great game. I passed on the KS and maybe I'll get it when it hits the discount market eventually. Great video :)
My all-in came 2 weeks ago and we've got a 4 player game going in my vault game table - didnt quite finish it after 3 hours so looking to resume soon. Glad I didn't get the big box as I might sell a few of the expansions - already sold the extra dice as you only need two sets for dice poker. Heard the Mages and Skellige expansion with Dagon needs some tweaking for better gameplay. The shading looks too dark, IMO, so I'm glad I didn't go for it since I have some quickshade. The color on the gameboard looks muted so I'll be using the playmat exclusively. Also we added the Monster Trail expansion from the get-go and tweaked the monster deck; otherwise, the Level 1 monsters are a cake-walk. It was also easy to incorporate the mutagens, advanced deck, and bombs. Sadly, my KS extra box not only arrived heavily dented but busted in. I will be asking for a new box as I do not have the big box and may sell the game down the road. Even if I dont mind the damage, the resell value would take a hit. Hope you get it to the table soon. Game reminds me of Runebound but better.
The solo mode for wild hunt is awesome. It is a well thought out mode that allows me to play it way more. Also looking into the unofficial solo mode where you can play with an automa Witcher
Cavill is going to be in the 3rd season. Also, it doesn't start until the end of June. You may be thinking of Witcher Origins. I love this game and have been playing a lot. Only things I think they could've improved are a stitched mat, and some cleanup of the Mages expansion. The wash on the minis also isn't very good. Glad I didn't go for those.
I have the same version of the game. I have no clue how to to put all the cards back in after their all sleeved. Let me know if your able to fit all the cards in the box after you sleeve all the cards.
I admit, I couldn't finish season 2. As someone who has read the books and played the games, I don't mind differences in adaptation but so many of the characters made no sense to me and they changed so much of the plot and peoples motivations.
This will brighten your day. He will be in season 3. He left after that because of the writer’s delusions of grandeur thinking they are better than the source material. Good luck getting Superman to play games with you! I’d watch that.
I think there will always be people who are upset. These campaigns are not a charity. The more money they raise the better chance for their company to survive. Not completely reliant but it’s a huge factor. They are running a business. I’m sure people need to accept they cannot buy everything they want…
As a fan of the Witcher, having read the books, played the video games, and watched the series, I am sad that Henry is leaving. I will give the new show a go, but I have no idea if it will be as good. I do want to know what Henry does with Warhammer 40k. Also looking forward to playing my "gameplay all in" copy that arrived last Friday. I will miss the coins and updated dice I must admit.
Contemplating on getting the game from retail when it releases on Amazon on the 23rd of this month. Love the Witcher, read the books, played the games and watched the series. Would the retail editions include the Monster Trial and Adventure Pack Expansions, or are they KS exclusives? And as always a great unboxing and ramblings video Alex
I've already ordered my retail copy, I missed the kickstarted too and there was no way I was paying EBay prices. So far, I haven't heard anything about being able to buy Monster Trail which really worries me because I'm seeing so many reviews saying it's essential to gameplay.
@@SFZooBKL Yeah that is worrisome to hear indeed. I've seen other expansions coming to retail but if the ones not included are considered essential to gameplay, it would be a big con to not get the retail version
Loved the books and video games. The show is good so far too (mostly). But for this, I will wait and see how it holds up over time before picking up my own copy. I have enough games and I'm not a mini collector. Thanks for your honest thoughts!
This production had a number of issues and disappointments for such an expensive game. - Sleeves they sold don't allow the game to be sleeved and fit into the trays. - No storage location for the metal coins and coin bag they sold us. - If you bought the Witcher dice, they take up spots needed for tokens. Just not enough space. - No dedicated spot for Eredin Mounted miniature. - No universal manual, too many manuals. - Cards were disorganized in production. - Packing instruction, the ridiculous sheet, was not helpful and hard to read where trays go. - Neoprene mat lacks stitching on edges, will fray. They just had to try and get fancy with the box instead of just making a box that actually holds all the content they sold us. Disappointed, production should have been much better than what was delivered.
You absolutely lost all your fan cred with Gerald. 😂 10/10 would absolutely love watching you play this with Henry Cavill. He genuinely seems like he'd make an amazing friend to game with.
Oh and just wanted to let you know, I like the sponsor segment in this video so much better than a while back with the mobile plan. That was completely irrelevant for me as a European and there were no timestamps so I was frustratingly trying to skip to the main content again or listening to something completely uninteresting for quite a few minutes. This is both reasonably interesting as it's boardgame related, and timestamped if I really want to skip. And of course, you should do whatever you want/need sponsor wise, but just wanted to share my view on it!
Netflix serial is a tragedy for sb who read the books :(, but ... we have the CDP games and the GoOnBoard game, which are fantastic extensions of the books :)
I don’t care. Time is limited and there are already much better adventure games, like Mage Knight. Just because a game is bit and new it doesn’t mean it is better, because it isn’t.
@@sobreeltablero @kumanight could you guys elaborate? Never played either, but Mage Knight has been top of my “buy list” for a while (my favourite designer)… but I love the Witcher IP and the production here looks great. If you’ve played both, what makes one or the other better?

Geralt of Rivia - The White Wolf, butcher of Blaviken, Cirilla Fiona Ellen Riannon - lion cub of Cintra, Yennefer of Vengerberg.
Geralt starting with G spoken as in Garage and not as in Germany. :-)
I can't stop playing this game, it's so damn good. Very happy I went all-in, this is one of the few games where I will absolutely play all the content

I've stopped backing more than one or two projects a month which has made the series less fun. I'm sure it will return at some point.
