Y’all gotta check out Alex Terrible’s cover of BFG Division, incredible. Also just fyi 1984 is like a step in a new direction for STP. Their last album Kostolom featured some new elements, but 1984 is what we got once they learned they had an audience for their experimental stuff.
It bothers me more than it should that people call them STP when that's already been used by Stone Temple Pilots. It shouldn't bother me, but for whatever reason it does lol
4:04 Alex Terrible is a gigantic 6 foot 3, fully body tattoo'd teddy bear. Evgeny, the drummer, put on (and might still do) drum clinics so that aspiring deathcore drummers could/can learn how to do heel-toe blastbeats, etc. They quite literally ARE the nicest people in the deathcore scene, and they relocated to Florida in May 2022 because they were very against the invasion of Ukraine and were extremely vocal about it. As they had/have quite a large Russian audience, that didn't sit well with the Russian government, so it was "move and protest, or stay and be suppressed." They chose to remain vocal about it, and I applaud them for it. They didn't back down in the face of a dictatorship, and are still extremely vocal about ending the war.
Alex is a monster. 1984 was a "light" entry into Slaughter to Prevail lol. Stay awesome gents. Edit: Baba Yaga is another great one and he did a cover of Doom Division that was a lot of fun too.
Yes!! I’ve been looking forward to this one since you posted about it on your community tab. Since you mentioned Doom, Alex Terrible does a vocal cover of Mick Gordon’s Doom Eternal “BFG Division” that’s pretty damn great. “Bonebreaker” live is Moscow is an absolute must though. Love that we got Lorna Shore and Slaughter to Prevail in the same week. You’re spoiling us! Also, I think the drumming Eric mentioned is called a gravity blast. Someone will correct me if I’m wrong, I’m sure.
5:16 in drumming, that's called a "lazy blast." Since you were focused on his left hand, also look at his entire left arm. It's almost fully relaxed, no shoulder shrug, bicep loose, the forearm the only thing holding tension. How that method works is that the muscles provide the downward stroke, but the natural rebound of the stick is what lifts is, so it is "lazy" because you're letting the physics of wood (by nature a bit elastic) rebounding from a tight drum skin (elastic as that is what provides the shockwave that passes through the drum to rattle the snare on the bottom) to do half the work :) Physics is a cool area of science :D Also, lazy blasts were created/discovered so that a drummer could maintain their stamina throughout a full set live. Watch some of the best drummers (Kai Hahto in Wintersun - Sons Of Winter and Stars as a perfect example) doing blasts and almost every single one will do lazy blasts on the snare. Austin Archey from Lorna Shore is the only deathcore drummer (even though LS is blackened deathcore) that I have seen in a video or live recording that will alternate with lazy blasts and tight blasts regularly.
If you want to get into Deathcore, there's only one band missing now: TO THE GRAVE. Wastage Pest Control Miserable Summer Ecocide Are some of their songs and they're BRUTAL.
Feel like Baba Yaga would be a good one to do next from them, one of the best breakdowns ever. Would even go as far as to call it one of my all time fav breakdowns, top 3 at least
I saw these guys live once and I cannot tell you how badass this show was! Highly recommended band to watch live. The drummer does use the thicker side of his sticks. I have one of his used sticks and he demolishes (no pun intended) those sticks! Lol
I dont think many people notice this, but Alex Terrible (Lead vocals) during the final breakdown, whether live or the studio version, beats the mic against his chest just to add to the heavy kicks🫠
Glad you guys mentioned Doom. He has an amazing demon vocal cover to BFG Division. You may not understand much of what he says but he wrote the lyrics and its a banger. Bonebreaker is an amazing song with a high quality live video, Zavali Ebalo is my personal favorite track from them.
You guys are quickly becoming my favorite reactors, and this is my favorite band. Thank you! Recommend Agony, Bratva, Made In Russia, I Killed a Man, and Chronic Slaughter, if you haven't heard them already.
5:20 as a drummer I can confidently say that Evgeny Novikov's gravity blasts are fucking impossible. He is an absolute god of drumming and his blast beats on the kick drum are something else entirely! To play that fast on one hand takes experience, skill and a demon possession haha
Funny that you guys mentioned DOOM. Alex has recorded vocals over the epic DOOM BFG Division soundtrack, and it's one of the most insane things you've ever heard! Even Mick Gordon, the guy who recorded the soundtrack, was blown away by it! Once you guys hear it, you'll wonder how Alex doesn't do EVERY horror video game soundtrack! You guys should totally check that one out next, either that or Slaughter To Prevail - Bonebreaker, live in Moscow, to see just how much more intense they are in a true live performance! Anyway, dig the channel, guys, and enjoy your continued dark and awesome journey down the rabbit hole of sheer brutality that is Alex Terrible!
Alex is unreal, if you're interested he has amazing vocal videos on his channel. Evgeny (the drummer) is also a beast and he has a drum playthrough of this song you guys definitely need to see. As for songs you guys should listen to Agony and baba yaga!
5:40 @rykerroad REACTION SUGGESTION: Alex Terrible - BFG Division vocal cover (he wrote his own lyrincs to go over the Doom 2016 track BFG Division): th-cam.com/video/ak8-Mpb54JM/w-d-xo.html
Great video guys, I'm a huge fan, of Alex Terrible, and Slaughter to Prevail, and they're from Russia, and they're death core , you guys should really check out Alex's covers, they're really really good 🤘🏼👿🤘🏼
Killer reaction as always, fellas-I love it! And just to toss out a small idea, by any chance might you be open to panning Kyle’s audio toward the left channel and Eric’s audio toward the right channel? I dunno-it seems like your reactions might be able to be just a bit more immersive that way? Anyway, keep up the good work-yinz are awesome!
@@Rykerroad Heck yeah-I’m so here for Pittsburgh n’at! And just as a side thing, I came across this video that seems to talk about how to pan audio to the left or right using the RØDECaster? (Or by any chance might you have a slightly different model from what they have here?) th-cam.com/video/Q_fjxbL-xxU/w-d-xo.html
Alex recently added the video of their entire set from Blue Ridge Rock Fest to his TH-cam channel. Here is the link: th-cam.com/video/qKlKiSV67OU/w-d-xo.html Check it out!!
Nice vid guys, please listen to sylosis, darko us, architects, darkest hour, malevolence, tallah, gojira, the browning, brand of sacrifice. The list goes on but i enjoy your reactions and keep it coming
Evgeny (drummer) has a few drum playthroughs that are insane. That dude is one of the premiere drummers out there.
The new Joey jordansion
He is faster than Joey
Yes dude, big respect from Mother Russia bro👊
Ему нужно обязательно сыграть вместе с Трейем Уильямсом из dying fetus!!!
good

Seconded !!!!!
Yeeees absolute his BFG Division cover. Also Baba Yaga, Made in Russia and Bonebreaker (the live version)!
Yup these people know what's up!
It bothers me more than it should that people call them STP when that's already been used by Stone Temple Pilots. It shouldn't bother me, but for whatever reason it does lol
Yessss. Do this!!!

Oh yes yes, Alex Terrible can sing very nicely, he even did Sia's Chandelier cover. Very melodic!
Alex is a monster. 1984 was a "light" entry into Slaughter to Prevail lol. Stay awesome gents.

You’re close! it’s just a normal blast at a higher tempo. A Gravity blast is a blast beat on the rim on the snare.
@@dylanvasicadrums Ah, thanks! Good to know.
Coming from someone who’s been to their shows… that DEMOLISHER drop.. all Alex… he’s a machine..
Mick Gordon actually commented on one of Alex's Doom covers "I'm not gonna say Alex is DOOM Guy, but I've never seen them in a room together..."
I'm happy because humanity has Alex. This guy will solve issues with demons in case of any misunderstandings 😈
Leave it for rotting Christ
Good thing demons aren't real.
It's been over a decade since I found a band that I NEED to see live. 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
You don't understand how happy I am right now!!! Love Slaughter to Prevail 😈🔥
Now you need to watch the drummers playthrough of this song and see just how amazing Uvgeny Novikov is!
Exactly!!!!
Pretty sure Evgeny had his legs surgically replaced with machine guns.

Saw them open for ice nine kills and falling in reverse and STP crushed everything around them brutal and amazing
If you want to get into Deathcore, there's only one band missing now: TO THE GRAVE.
Wastage
Pest Control
Miserable Summer
Ecocide
Are some of their songs and they're BRUTAL.
Seconded! To The Grave deserves so much more attention.
Feel like Baba Yaga would be a good one to do next from them, one of the best breakdowns ever. Would even go as far as to call it one of my all time fav breakdowns, top 3 at least
Imagine hearing this for the first time again… legends! Keep up the great work fellas! 🤘🏽
I`m just loving everytime Kyle`s looking at these breakdown moments with this impression on his face, kind of loving it!
I saw these guys live once and I cannot tell you how badass this show was! Highly recommended band to watch live. The drummer does use the thicker side of his sticks. I have one of his used sticks and he demolishes (no pun intended) those sticks! Lol
Their concerts are nuts. Saw them in Dallas last year. Couldn't hear for 3 days
Now you HAVE to watch the drum playthrough of this song)
i swear Alex was the inspiration for Doom even though it was created long before Slaughter to Prevail
To be fair, that breakdown warps the flow of time, so it’s possible.
Bone breaker live....love that performance from slaughter.
I dont think many people notice this, but Alex Terrible (Lead vocals) during the final breakdown, whether live or the studio version, beats the mic against his chest just to add to the heavy kicks🫠
Been waiting for this since i found you guys’ channel😄
Those blast beats are like fucking machine gun fire!!!!

Love the quad drum paddle with the snare

Recommend Agony, Bratva, Made In Russia, I Killed a Man, and Chronic Slaughter, if you haven't heard them already.
I love how after the intro, the 808 drops, and then it hits that "groove"...
Guys are KILLING IT this week!!!! He did a song off of a doom track. It is flawless!! Gotta check it out
Alex actually did a Doom Eternal cover recently and it is beyond dope.
I get to see them in July and I have never been more excited to see a band as I am with these guys.
"It's gotta be a badass concert" well they actually have a live version of "Bonebreaker" up
I never thought this day would come!!!! LOVE STP
I'm 7 months late on this video, but I'm going to a show in July that Slaughter to Prevail is playing in and holy crap im sooooooo excited now!
Hey Guys, there`s a Drum Playthrough of Slaughter to Prevail`s Demolisher. That`s absolutely incredible!
The drummer has a play through video of this song on TH-cam.
5:20 as a drummer I can confidently say that Evgeny Novikov's gravity blasts are fucking impossible. He is an absolute god of drumming and his blast beats on the kick drum are something else entirely! To play that fast on one hand takes experience, skill and a demon possession haha
You joke about them being the nicest people in the community, but Alex really is a pretty cool guy
Добрый, отзывчивый и совершенно не страдает "звёздной" болезнью
First person i have ever noticed on any reaction video that Evgeny Novikov plays stick butts.. The guy has so much power.
I just love your reactions!! The combo hip hop and metalhead is great!
Can confirm, their concerts are fucking awesome!
Now you're ready for "Agony". Pls do it 😱
you guys should give archspire - drone corpse aviator a listen, absolute top tier playing from every one in the band and the vocals are just insane
exactly what i was thinking, DCA or Bleed The Future, for the speed.
For next, maybe do Baba Yaga or Bonebreaker live edition, both are amazing.

I love it! Alex easily has some of if not the best gutterals in the game, dudes just a complete monster on a mic lol
I’ve seen it live and that growl hits you in the chest like a sledgehammer
You should watch Evgeny’s drum playthrough of this shingle. It’s amazing
There’s a live version of this concert, where he screams without the mic and it’s loud lol
Check out the drum cam version of this. Crazy talent!
Some of these people are the nicest to meet....they get out all their anger all the time.
Alex is unreal, if you're interested he has amazing vocal videos on his channel. Evgeny (the drummer) is also a beast and he has a drum playthrough of this song you guys definitely need to see. As for songs you guys should listen to Agony and baba yaga!
Since you just reacted to the Will Ramos cover, I had to go back and check this one out again
Sounds like Dr. Claw to me. Lol 😂

Speaking of Doom, he did a cover of BFG Division and added his own lyrics.
Can't wait to see them in November!! They are coming to Dallas and I will be there!!

His Mudvayne cover of DIG is absolutely brutal 🔥🤘🏼

The roadcaster doesn't allow that unfortunately.... you said yinz... love Pitt slang lol I been asking Kyle to go back with me on a road trip.

Wooooo finally!!!! Still check out his version of Doom’s BFG division!!
Yall should check the drummer out evgeny novikov, he has alot of drum playthroughs including one for this song 🔥
He got that Mitch Luker leg pose
For STP Baba Yaga is a great song. But Alex Terrible also has a cover of Sia- chandelier that’s really good also.
It doesnt have a official music video but Slaughter to Prevail - "I killed a man" has biggest Alex range
Edit: Also listen to Alexs Doom cover
Yo, you will 100% catch the vocals after listening to it more, and reading the lyrics through a few times while you listen to.
Agony is one of my favorites
Y'all gotta check out some of Alex's covers. Like the man is just a powerhouse.
You guys need to watch Alex Terribles Doom Cover!!! Immediately! Right now
The guy in the white T shirt sings for practice
You guys should react to jigsaw by betraying the martyr. The drum line is insane.
I'd like for you both to hear asking Alexandria
Alex recently added the video of their entire set from Blue Ridge Rock Fest to his TH-cam channel. Here is the link: th-cam.com/video/qKlKiSV67OU/w-d-xo.html Check it out!!
Drummer was doing a gravity blast. Check out Archspire for extreme gravity blasts

I'm surprised Alex hasn't come to this video yet . 😄😄
u guys rock!
If you want melodic and harsh that you can understand then orbit culture is the perfect blend. Redfog
Wanna step deeper into disgustingly heavy music. Check Nitheful- Preputium avarice. Doesn't sound like a human at all.
Fun fact: Did you know that the drummer is playing the drums with the drumsticks backwards.
🔥🤘😈🤘🔥
nice reaction. like it
Great React. Evgeniy Novikov - drummer of STP, on Alex Terrible channel u can check drum playtrough of Demolisher by Evgeniy
Go check Doomed to walk the Earth by Swallow the sun. Excellent piece of melodic doom metal.
Alex Terrible - Doom BFG division - Vocal cover.
