Thank goodness they also had a few 80’s arcade cabinets providing an alternative. Seriously though, I had a great time. Gonna go again next year. Can’t wait!

That's not a "terrible idea" at all. It lets the customer know if the console works and what games it comes with, and if they like it, they buy it. It wouldn't inherently "make people want to buy it even less" because not everyone will think it's "terrible" because not everyone is you. I bought it for a friend and tried it out at home, and it has a good selection of games, as Conner pointed out here. You're essentially saying that being honest about the product is a "terrible idea."

You probably just have a different one. Lots of people sell these knockoff consoles and 9 out of 10 times they just use stolen official images for the box so they end up looking similar.
The box for mine looked exactly the same except there isn’t a visible box showing how many games are on there. The one shown in the video, you can see where it cuts the gradient off. The number on mine is much smaller as well.
Mappy-land is actually the sequel to the 1983 Namco arcade game Mappy, which you should try out if you’ve never played it. From what I’ve noticed, the OG Mappy arcade game seems to be strangely popular with the small sub-culture known as “teenagers and young adults who enjoy 80’s video games”.

Enemys take double amound of hits and last boss is unkillable. That "copyrighted" version was quite common in certain parts of world. First time I playd offical version..
