- Today was never going to be easy, but we brushed off the tears and got working on the hen field!
As always your support and feedback is SO appreciated. The next few weeks of videos will have lots going on, and hopefully this will lead up to a lot of progress for the house and land over the Summer. Hearing your thoughts on things is always a lovely boost and motivation.
Morrigan's Cottage is a 200 year old traditional stone cottage set in the west of Ireland on just under 4 acres. Originally this house would have been used by the local farmers, rented from their British landlords. Dated back to at least the early 1800s, someone has been consistently living here and farming this land since then, up until about 4 years ago when the house was left vacant by the previous owners.

Oh gosh I know, and I’m really trying my best to not annoy or lose my temper at the council because I’m sure they’re under a lot of pressure, but I really need to get the grant approved. I’ll be showing it in the next couple of videos, but some bad structural problems have reared their heads and I’m having major plumbing problems and they all need to be addressed asap but I can’t do anything without grant approval… just feeling a little stuck and gloomy at the moment about it, but hopefully better news and days to come ❤️

You are probably totally right! I’m a bit of an anxious creature so I’m worried they won’t come unless I have an entrance but I have contacted a few places so fingers crossed someone will be out in the next week or two!!
A tractor will go through that no problem. Just make sure no wire is hidden. Great job. I'm proud of you.❤❤
Thank you so much! So there may be large rocks etc hiding in the grass, so o have been talking to someone local who’s going to come take a look and I think will mulch the land and cut the grass right back, he’ll then take a look at drainage problems etc, he seems to do all outdoor sorta work so I might get him to do my driveway too 😂❤️
Are your siblings not able to help you with the lawn and painting..? it’s a lot for one person to do and will take you forever.
To be totally honest they have no real interest in the house or the land, they’re super busy with their own lives as well, but I’m hoping they’ll be able to come down at times I need a second or third set of hands! It is a lot for one person, definitely feels overwhelming at times

Charlie is well taken care of with his new family but I certainly understand how hard it is to see the two munchkins be broken up. His new family are LOVING having him, that's terrific.
I know Charlie must be living his absolutely best life now, but it was hard and sad to say goodbye, we did love him so much!
Praying that everything good will happen in the near future for you..all the hard work in the field will take the tractor a short time..hang in there🥰👍
Thank you! I have someone going to the house this evening to quote on mulching the fields and checking and quoting for drainage options etc. so hopefully won’t be too expensive! ❤️

Love to see your blue sky and happy smile on the miserable, stormy day we are having here in south Western Australia. I was thinking is you can cut path by neighbours fence and back of the shed, your farmer may be able to clear your greehouse section too if he can see the fence etc clearly? 😅 except as i continue watching you blitz it 😂
I would love to ask the next door neighbour to come in and clean it all up for me, the only worry is that there’s a lot and I mean A LOT of big hidden rocks I’d be a bit worried his machinery would get damaged 🥲 I’m surprised to hear there’s ever a stormy gloomy day in Australia! I’ve been led to believe it’s always sunny!!
Dealing with officialdom in Ireland can be very frustrating. To be fair, I've had good experiences with the Revenue and the NDLS, but the Dept of Justice and the Gardaí have been frustrating if not outright obnoxious to deal with. The personal record in our family is currently held by our older daughter, who has waited two years so far for a decision on her naturalization petition, and has been told to expect a decision hopefully early next year. I'm sure you won't wait anything like so long for any of your applications, but good luck to you anyway!
Oh goodness that must be very stressful and upsetting to be waiting on naturalization, I’ll keep my fingers and toes crossed for a faster and soon turn around time for her! It definitely feels like nothing gets done fast with the councils, and I’m trying to be understanding as the person I speak to it isn’t in their control but I’m like pleasssse hurry up 😂

I have no idea if this is what youtubers do but could you reach out to companies seeking things to review in exchange for keeping the items (work tools/ride on lawnmower/slow cooker/cameras/rain gear etc)?
Its disappointing there is the delay with the grant but it will eventually happen. In the meantime, what if you were to sleep over at the cottage on Fri and/or Sat nights only (a) you're not actually moving in there (b) it would only be for a few weeks till the grant comes through.

Hello! Big hugs to your and Mr fat frank! It was definitely so sad saying goodbye, but I know that he’s in his happy forever home now which makes it so much better, but definitely sad he’s not with us anymore! His sister has doubled in size since he’s not stealing her food anymore!
Yeah I’m not sure how they get things like that, maybe you have to have lots of followers, im just a small channel! Even getting helps in the comments though is worth its weight in gold!
Majorly disappointing about the delay, you’ll see it in the next few videos, but some urgent and important work is needed to be done but it can’t be done until the grant people come so I am feeling very stuck and stressed, but brighter days ahead 😂

Im finally catching up 💜 Its so hard to when a rescue goes to there hopefully forever home I used to do it when I could. Are you keeping liitle rosie/daisy I got confused at that bit having a blonde day here 😂 Can you tell me the make of your stimmer lovely as i need a new one ? Your reference to final destination gave me a giggle but so glad you got used to the blade so much easier on our wild gardens Ive over 4 foot thistles at the moment in half the garden 😮 Great video as always big snuggles to the fur babies take care xx
Hello! And big snugs from the furbabies 💚 so we have indeed kept little Rosie and she’s settled in so well! The strimmer is actually from Lidl! It’s the park side brush cutter/strimmer and it’s brilliant!! Hope you’re keeping well and enjoying the last of the summer ❤️
you seem to have plenty power with the strimmer to cut the weeds i am guessing its a bosch strimmer a quality brand
The strimmer is great, it’s from Lidl and part of their park side range, but I’ve heard they are actually really good quality even though a lot cheaper than other brands!
