Since I'm a Spider-Man stand I have pretty much bought almost all the Peter Spidey figures to date. I would say the best Spidey would be the Animated/Fantasy Spidey since this has the best range of poses and has nostalgia for us 90's kids but he's a little on the short side.
You're welcome! Thanks for watching it. Yes, I saw the aftermarket on that 2 pack and realized it was too expensive for my needs. I don't have the animated or amazing Fantasy Spideys because they look more slender than I would want. To me the Retro physique is the best for the character.

Thanks for taking the time to watch the video and leave me a thoughtful comment.
@@vascotoys yeah man of course. I think the journey for it would have been better with that more comedic angle since almost every step of the way you had some terrible QC issues. I am excited for any more intricate kitbashing/ customizing you maybe do as your diorama work is very top tier
My current favorite ML Spider-Man is the Amazing Friends. The colors are right, the chest and back logos are the right size, the Ditko eyes, and it's my preferred body size and proportions. And with the web grabbing hands of AF16 Spider-Man and the additional Peter Parker heads he is my current complete Spidey pack. Also agreeing about the RYV Spider-Man. The body is great but I hate everything else about it. I hate the eyes, the colors and logos. Even the webbing I think the Retro Spider-Man did it better.
Thanks for checking this out and leaving me this comment! I love that we as collectors have options now to mix and match the releases to form our ideal Spidey. Very cool.
@@vascotoys I know what you mean it’s objective but I love the way the 2.0 looks the 1.0 is cool but the sculpt is horrible ( I just got the Agent venom that thing is PERFECTION!)
Hasbro almost gave us the best spiderman figure that can compete with the Mafex. But they just had to screw it up with the dumbbell joint on the head which absolutely sucks for a spider-man figure. It totally ruined it with just one articulation.
Thanks! I mostly just wanted a quick way of referring to that head sculpt and that's what I came up with, although it does work as expressive Spidey eyes.
Too bad nothing can be done about the lack of waist rotation. Not being able to rotate at the waist means you can't hinge the figure left or right, which really kills this figure for me
I went through this same exact process last year. I even switched the RYV feet onto the retro body. I just can’t get over the HORRIBLE thigh gap on the retro body. And the head articulation is just pathetic. Dwight stahl and his design team just cont figure out how to design double ball pegs. And that cut in the neck is just unnecessary if you design a double ball peg correctly. I finally caved and got the mafex spidey. It’s just so much better and I consider it to be my definitive spidey
I certainly understand you considering Mafex the best. I have a bunch of the HUSH Batman Mafex figures and I love them, just decided to stick to Legends for Marvel to keep the budget in control.
It depends on the angles used in the shots. Yes, the red pins on the back of the blue elbow isn't ideal, but it doesn't bother me the same way the broken up spider logo does. I would love a Retro Spider-man figure that does not have pins.
Its cool u love this figure but i have way too many problems with it the neck articulation is lacking, the pins look seriously ugly, the shoulder web lins are non existent and the finish is too shiny. To me the mafex just beats this guy up
Hey Dario! The MAFEX does look good, but my personal preference is this figure, part of that has to do with affordability. Glad there are options so everyone can enjoy Spider-man in figure form.
Ehh super ugly pins are slightly worse than the back spider logo issue and pinless is a huge upgrade. I own both figure and the renew your vows is easily better. From the pinless tech to the better headsculpt and articulation, all better on ryv. The legs on the retro won't even go straight, all the spidey on that mold have the same bow leged issue
To each their own. This video is about my favorite Spider-man figure. Personally, I love that we have so many options so everyone can get what they like best.
I did the same thing, but slightly different, if you wanted to try, put the ryv spidey shoulders on the retro spidey, the shoulder hole on retro is slightly different to ryv shoulder holes and it makes retro spidey look soooo much better!!! If you have an insta let me know I’ll send some photos of how it actually looks

For me, I was moreso wanting to share the collection journey I have been on with this particular figure and show some appreciation for one of my favorites Marvel Legends.
My favourite spider man figure is probably the ditco Mezco spider man
That figure looks awesome. How's his mobility though? I always wonder how Mezco Spideys move with the head to toe cloth goods.
Amazing friends spidey is my goat
I can respect that. For me, it's just too specific of a version of Spider-man to have him as the definitive Spidey.
You can also give him retro Ben Reilly’ shoes hinge feet
As a big Spidey fan, I commend you on giving him some attention.
Nobody really knows about him.
Ha!..Just kiddin’…nice video ;)
🤣🤣🤣 that made me laugh, Travis! Thanks for checking out the video.
Very cool.
mafex one is the best
It does look awesome! Maybe one day, I'll get it.
ben reilly retro card is a very good figure
Yes, very happy with that figure. It's great beyond the head swap that I did in this video.
If you can swap the feet of ryv spidey to this if you could then this woul be even better
I totally agree! I'm just not brave enough to attempt figure surgery... 😅
0:10 uhhhhhhhhhhh 😬
I also prefer the retro spidey, the ryv has weird sharp edgy limbs. And retro has more vibrant colors, although I wish blues weren't so dark.
Good to meet another fab of Retro Spidey! Yeah, depending on the source material sometimes the blue is a bit lighter.
I prefer the MAFEX It’s ALMOST PERFECT
Great choice! I may have to get it one day.
I would recommend the Amazing Yamaguchi 2.0 if you don’t mind the stylized look which I love also the eyes are better than the mafex
@MFDOOM.. see I'm not a huge fan of the joints on those figures. I would be more likely to get the Mafex and buy a custom head.
@@vascotoys I know what you mean it’s objective but I love the way the 2.0 looks the 1.0 is cool but the sculpt is horrible ( I just got the Agent venom that thing is PERFECTION!)
Bros luck just keeps getting worse I feel so bad for you man 😭
🤣 honestly it got to the point where I just had to laugh. All good now!
Mine is so paint chip 🙁
That's a bummer. Very sorry to hear it!
Hasbro almost gave us the best spiderman figure that can compete with the Mafex.
But they just had to screw it up with the dumbbell joint on the head which absolutely sucks for a spider-man figure. It totally ruined it with just one articulation.
Mine are mezco and mafex.
Very cool! Lots of great Spider-man figure options out there these days.
there not squinting eyes thats just how they drew them in the 60s show.
Thanks! I mostly just wanted a quick way of referring to that head sculpt and that's what I came up with, although it does work as expressive Spidey eyes.
@@vascotoys I wasn't trying to be negative
Too bad nothing can be done about the lack of waist rotation. Not being able to rotate at the waist means you can't hinge the figure left or right, which really kills this figure for me
That's a fair point. There are times he looks awkward posed up because of what you are saying.
As a transformers collector gotta say hasbro truly does have the worst QC in the whole world.
Yeah, as you saw here, things could have gone better with the QC on these Spider-man figures 🤣
Isn't as a photographer the pins will distract your job?, that's not make sense in this, there a giant red pins on this fig.
It depends on the angles used in the shots. Yes, the red pins on the back of the blue elbow isn't ideal, but it doesn't bother me the same way the broken up spider logo does. I would love a Retro Spider-man figure that does not have pins.
Can you try to make this video with venom okease
I wish I could, but I dont have enough Venom figures to really pull that off.
Sentinel Peter b Parker
Very cool! I've never seen that one in person but it looks awesome.
I think it might be a bootleg tbh there are a lot of bootlegs of that
No, I ordered it directly from Hasbro Pulse when it was originally released. At that time, bootlegs of this figure didn't exist yet.
🌈
Ehh super ugly pins are slightly worse than the back spider logo issue and pinless is a huge upgrade. I own both figure and the renew your vows is easily better. From the pinless tech to the better headsculpt and articulation, all better on ryv. The legs on the retro won't even go straight, all the spidey on that mold have the same bow leged issue
Thanks for watching and sharing your opinions on the figure.
How can this thing be considered as the best Spidey figure ever ? The proportions are just so bad, he doesn't even look human !
To each their own. This video is about my favorite Spider-man figure. Personally, I love that we have so many options so everyone can get what they like best.
Bro to be honest I hate this think I like the amzing fantisy 15 spider man the best.
what a waste of time
I did the same thing, but slightly different, if you wanted to try, put the ryv spidey shoulders on the retro spidey, the shoulder hole on retro is slightly different to ryv shoulder holes and it makes retro spidey look soooo much better!!! If you have an insta let me know I’ll send some photos of how it actually looks
Thanks man! My Instagram is @vascotoys
