Thank goodness people are uploading things like this so that we get to watch them again. There is nothing today that even comes close to this style of program.
Clive James, Billy Connolly and Davis Attenborough, the three greats. What an absolute joy to be able to see and hear them all together on the one show.
Great interview so naturally funny, all three so relaxed they can contribute and be funny Sadly these interview will never return Thanks for uploading!!
Sadly Clive has passed, These guys are the epitome of society at its best. Sadly they are at the end of the journey. I am at a loss to see who will replace them when the time comes.
I've never seen an billy Connolly interview where I havnt been in stitches. A natural born comedian and second to none in my opinion. Who else could make David Attenborough tell a funny joke.
i don't know, attenborough may now be the cuddly, comforting nature guy but in the '60s he was controller of BBC2 when all the 'radical' satirical comedy was kicking off: TW3, Frost Report etc. anyhoo, he obviously has an affinity with billy (and clive) here, so the 'fun' david comes out to play
Nice to see David Attenborough in his younger days laughing so naturally, and being humorous and sociable. I have followed him since his Zoo Quest tv series and books in the 1950s and 1960s. I think he was happier then.
This guy is just so goddamn funny...and all the while all these other comics are talking about putting together their "hour" for a special, Billy is on stage for 3-1/2 hours just killing it!
Anyone interested should read Clive's The Blaze of Obscurity. Goes into his TV career including the nature of guests including the one's in this clip. Great reading, of course.
My memory of Clive James will always be dominated by his “Clive James On TV,” program from the 1980’s . Sadly all three of these legendary gentlemen are at a certain age now and this great generation is passing. I’m not absolutely confident the one that’s going to replace it is as worthy or equal to the task.
There’s better tv now than there ever was. There’s just far more horseshit too. What depressed me was reading an interview from 2 weeks ago here in Ireland from Billy where he said political correctness was a good thing and that he’s sorry for the way he acted over the years. He owes zero of an apology for me. World is too quick to be offended these days.
@Quincy Breed Unfortunately, I'm not. He was talking about his battle with dementia and the topic came up. I'd rather if he told the PC police to go fuck themselves but such is life.
Saw this on Clive James' show over 30+ years ago. I have never forgotten the life jacket and the Atlantic Whistling Shark. All they needed was a couple of beers and a BBQ.
I agree with so many of Billy's points, the whole american animal programmes were they try and force excitement and make it like a hollywood film is not as enjoyable as britain's more subtle natural approach
the cave with bat dung was the first Attenborough documentary (and any tv )programme I ever saw in colour having received our first W German colour tv that day back in the mid-ish seventies
Clive james was a very funny man, with that crazy woman playing the keyboard. Can anybody remember her name ? Sadly missed , one of the best no longer with us. R I P 😎👍😎👍Dec 2019

Its brilliant that David joins in with so much real and exciting laughter
Three very special guys with completely different backgrounds.
Really reminds me of Graham Norton, actually. A little less busy, but otherwise very similar, no?
Billy is without doubt the most windswept and interesting person ever, love him
lol good reference
I really miss Clive James. The man knew how to properly conduct a talk show, unlike the constantly interrupting late-show hosts these days.
The synergy between Billy and David is something I never knew I needed
Clive James, Billy Connolly and Davis Attenborough, the three greats.
What an absolute joy to be able to see and hear them all together on the one show.
Attenborough's now a Globalist shill unfortunately
@@PeterSellers22 took the words out of my mouth. He's an evil man.
When the talent and chemistry are there, then this can be the result. It ended too soon. Best interview I’ve ever witnessed.
I so agree and David’s happy face was a picture and so natural
What a fantastic bit of television, three legends in one room. Thanks for uploading, RIP Clive James
Clive James was a master at these interviews, just brilliant...
Just finished Billy's book "Tall Tales and wee stories" wonderful stuff.
Loved this show thank you so, so much for sharing.
He always gives brilliant stories. Pure Class. 👍🏻
Three ABSOLUTE legends together! God at his best🤣🙏🏻👍🏼😎 RIP Mr. Clive James.
Great interview so naturally funny, all three so relaxed they can contribute and be funny
Sadly these interview will never return
Thanks for uploading!!
David and Billy obviously enjoyed each other's company. So wonderful.
RIP Clive, you were an absolute legend!
I was dreading to see this comment. I just randomly typed him in to see if there was anything on him... I wondered if he was still in it 😔
billy has always talked about how much he loved nature shows and david attenborough, i never knew they'd actually met. hilarious man.
Sadly Clive has passed,

What a Genius combination of talent. Brilliant.
One studio, three legends.

This is Mr Connolly at his finest - he simply goes with whatever happens!
He is the BEST!
RIP Clive, always loved your shows

I have just watched again and giggled so much, Thank You for putting on the net.
Thanks, that's ABSOLUTELY 💯 BRILLIANT and BEAUTIFUL 😍 .The best 👌 three Comedians on stage 👌 eevery 😢😮❤

Grrowl Design I’ll put it on my endless list of books 📚 I must get on top of the thousands I already have which I’ll probably never read. 😬🙄🙄

Clive “does travel broaden the mind?”
Billy “Nope!”
Comedy is all about timing you see.
Sir Dave has passed away. Only yesterday I listened to a wonderful interview with him on BBC radio 4.
Funniest comedian ever.I seen him a few times years ago and never heard the same joke twice. No one can say that with the comedians lately
Three genuine legends.
I loved and still do this guy all my years growing up. If you want the definition of being naturally funny well this is it
The funniest man I've had the pleasure to watch and listen to. A genius in every way. 😍
I’ve been pinching on Billy Conley footage and this is just delightful.
Had to like this as it had 666 likes!!
And the fact Billy and David and James are all legends , the only true entertainment legends..
Great! Thanks for posting
Gods, this is such wonderful programming! What happened to television?
liberals destroyed it for us all

@@jamescopen9817 you are watching three liberals :)
Rupert Murdoch.
One of the few who is loved by all. I have never heard a bad word said about this man.
Saw this on Clive James' show over 30+ years ago. I have never forgotten the life jacket and the Atlantic Whistling Shark. All they needed was a couple of beers and a BBQ.
Two legends for the price of one with Sir Dave
Absolutely amazing nothing like it on today soooooo fantastic 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Three great chaps in the same room!
I agree with so many of Billy's points, the whole american animal programmes were they try and force excitement and make it like a hollywood film is not as enjoyable as britain's more subtle natural approach
Three of my favourite people
Attenborough held his own against a comedy legend! Some of the stories he told in this were hilarious!
R.I.P Mr.Clive James🥀
Early days of Billy thank you Billy profound
the cave with bat dung was the first Attenborough documentary (and any tv )programme I ever saw in colour having received our first W German colour tv that day back in the mid-ish seventies
What a gift!- to be able to make people laugh just by being yourself
All three still with us. Three of my most interesting and entertaining people of all time. First time I've seen them together !
Fuck, I miss seeing Clive James on TV. Rest in Peace, you big Australian bastard. Billy was always good to see too.
One word for the 3 of them, Wonderful and so funny,
That's 4 words.
The Windswept and Interesting - not to say brilliant - Billy Connolly !
Three legends all in one clip
we will never see this funny situation again in our lifetime. enjoy
Three of the lovelies people, ever to exist.
The greatest comedian of all time ! (Check out his new book Made In Scotland)
Thanks for uploading ! *****
My right ear loved it, thanks.
3 giants together just wonderful
take note kids.this was hd in my day
Pure joy!
Three great people. So sad to see how frail Clive and Billy have become in recent years.
David Attenborough could have had a career as a standup.
(Maybe not, but who says naturalists can't be funny. . . )
What a line up.
My right ear enjoyed this.
My right ear enjoyed it.
It’s all you need
clive james rip a great guy,,,,
Does travel broaden your mind? "No" LOL
Jesus Christ there are some amazing things on TH-cam.
Classic TV. Isn't it a shame we don't have characters like this anymore. It's now just me, me, me. Look at me and my no talent non existent intellect.
Absolutely, the thing is people don't realise what we have lost. The rubbish today is how people always think its been
I lost my mind at "that ill be bobbin' about in the ocean with ma wee *whistles." Hahahaha
The Atlantic Whistling Shark! !
Crying laughing
Imagine these 3 at your dinner table?
Oh noes, it’s the Atlantic Whistling Shark
Attenborough is such a class act.

Clive James,much missed...his F1 commentaries were legendary!
Spectacular
Ah the old vhs recorder....them were the days, magical times when they invented the long play turning a 3hr tape into a 6hr tape.
Great video.Alan Cornelius is a comedian if you want to check him out.
RIP Clive
Skydivers have a saying ....when cars look like ants your ok, but when ants look like cars...its too late.
When was this made? David look very young. David is 10 years older than Clive yet looks younger.
I think this when Clive was on ITV for the first period of his career, before he left for the BBC in 1988, so I would guess 1987.
Being a vegetarian always enjoyed when Billy Connoly brought in Ratatouille as being a tasty joker.
I don't understand your comment but it sounds funny.
Billie's the best
Too many ads. Didn’t get to the show
Which country? I have not had a single add
australia
why tv be like this now iam 18 btw
Unsimplified joy
Magic!
What year was this?
By the look of them, the late '80s.
i think, for billy, the white socks, slip-on shoes and mad suit give it away! probably '86-88?
