Waterbury isn't that bad... Iived out there for several months with a friend at the time. I was always out and about on foot, so I never had any problems with the locals. Seems like a decent place to live if you have a fair budget.
You forgot to add that the Waterbury Fire Department is one of THE BEST, not in the state, but the entire country!! Ranks right up there with FDNY (Fire Department of New York City)!!! Important when it comes to insurance.
I love the downtown area in Waterbury and the Hancock Brook blue blazed hiking trail!
it’s peaceful don’t let them fool you, traffic is worse in new haven bridgeport. no one buys property here in waterbury everyone rents lol. it’s good don’t let them fool you.

Go to prospect or middlebury if you can swing it. Wolcott is pricey. Naugatuck is cheap but kind of sucks too

I used to work at briss mill center,and moving in the usa from europe was like dammm.....For my opinion if you are smart,dont even think to go there.

The tax is not $12,000 but more around 3,00 -6,000

I just took a tour in cheshire. Very nice folks but I was told its not diverse at all so I didn't want my child to feel out of place. I also was around north heaven another nice area. I was told by a lady not to go to wallingford because the 3xk is out there.

Just because Waterbury has a lot of pizza places, doesn’t mean the pizza is good. People gush over Domenick and Pia but it’s like getting a pizza from Big Y, if Big Y had no parking, only accepted cash and only sold cans of soda.

Crime is everywhere don't want to be around crime than don't move to the hood and if you live there you should try and elevate and get the f out. I live in waterbury in the surbs it's nice and peaceful out here.
