The knife world is a big one, all the way from gift shop knives to pieces of art like this. I'm content where I'm at, which is in neither of those spaces, but still glad that they exist. Good vid.
No one needs to try and say this looks like a gas station knife. This is to gas station knives as Cartier is to Spirit Halloween costume jewelry. What a magnificent piece of art.
I hope everyone appreciates what the craftsmen are trying to achieve here. This is a master piece in every sense of the word - a display piece that highlights the makers' skills & abilities. They are trying to apply as many techniques and use as many materials as possible to show what can be done. Every time you look at a knife like this you'll find something new. In many ways you need to stop critiquing this as a knife and instead drill down and critique the techniques, materials and finishes. Thanks for showing. Sharp blades all.
How is the lock dis-engaged? I presume the blade locks open for safety, but the way you showed closing it so easily I wondered if it actually was a slipjoint. It is indeed a spectacular knife, and you showed it off very well. Thanks.
Iv been trying to send you a lesbar to review for a while now but couldn’t get ahold of you but I’m happy you are finally reviewing one becuase their knives are incredible I have the gray lesbar slim
I always say I would use any knife I'm able to afford, but if I was actually able to acquire something like this, it would never get used for anything but a show piece. Hell, I'd be afraid to even pocket this knife. It would literally sit on my mantle inside of a glass/wooden case so that not even dust could get to it. This knife is absolutely gorgeous on so many levels. Makes me wonder how much of this knife is hand engraved and what's done by a C&C milling machine. Either way, this knife is genuinely a masterpiece to say the least.
Yes, the knife shape alone without the dressing is perfect. Like it was profiled off of a Civivi Praxis. Beautiful. Perhaps the V2 will include a button lock
I can appreciate the complexity and craftsmanship, but I don't think I could design a knife that appeals to me less if I tried. It's cool that people are making stuff like this for the people who do like them, though!
If you experienced this knife in person you would question your comment, at least to yourself. My experience is knives in person compared to catalog and Internet pictures and even videos cannot capture the in person experience
I was checking these out a while ago on PCK and just couldn't comprehend how this guy pulls all this astonishing machine work off. It's beyond incredible.
This knife is f-ing insane sick machine work this still came out of someone’s mind and took a long time to machine take from me I was machinists for 20 years beautiful
I program NC mills, and just the toolpath creation would be insane let alone the setup then machining. Getting the feeds/speeds right with the small endmills you need to create those patterns is insane. Even then, you'll probably break quite a few.
Machines make this kind of work obtainable to far more people, they are people that do work like that by hand with no more than a dremel but that takes months and the cost reflects that.
Saying modern machining isn't impressive because "a machine does all the work" is like saying programming isn't impressive because "a computer does all the work"
@@Sleepy_spartan717 the best experience is experience, and the majority of the population doesn’t understand the art or programming tool paths and working with 3-axis and 5-axis machines.
As a fitter and turner by trade and someone who’s had experience on both manual and CNC machines I’m less and less impressed by CNC produced things as time goes on. The novelty wore off on me and now I’m way more impressed by someone who can actually control the tool path as opposed to programming it.
Yes because a human still has to program the machine and execute multiple runs to make sure it’s what you want , and then you have to constantly check the tooling to make sure it’s cutting tight tolerances … 🤙🏼🤙🏼 I run CNC machines I know a bit …
The colours will keep that from ever gracing my collection but... wowie. Give me one of those in black/silver/blue and I won't even bother to ask how much it costs. The answer would just be yes.
Not usually a fan of gold ish colors on my knives, but for some reason each color accents the next magnificently here. Not something I think I'd ever purchase, but I also didn't think I'd buy a knife with "full dress" in the description. Which I've done now(Berg Blade Barber and it's glorious). ✌🏼🤘🏼
I would be curious to know how many man/machine hours it takes to create something of this magnitude? Regardless of how people feel about the looks of something like this it is hard to argue how truly impressive their work is. IT IS STUNNING!!!
Remember it's also not just about making the knife you see in front of you. You don't just pop some materials into a machine and it magically spits out perfection. The hours of design work & prototyping before you even try to make a saleable version would be insane. Take care.
I love everything but the blue. If it were DLC where the blue is, and something like Mokume in place of the Timascus it would be perfect. It would give it more of an over the top art deco vibe. Like a knife Jay Gatsby would carry. That's just my taste though.
It's a little gaudy, somewhat ostentatious, and absolutely amazing! I'll take two. How much are they? :D I LOVE the mirror finish Damasteel ... Damasteel is on my up-and-coming list, for sure.
3 minuts into the rabbit hole and Holy Moly, that is Piece Of Art. Written from Poland :) . [EDIT] This on the level of GoS Watches and probably on the price level as well. [EDIT 2] Blade seems plain and boring in comparison to The Handle.
3-4k so not the most expensive, bearing in mind what you getting. I have seen some far plainer Rockstead etc. go for more. If it is in your budget, I think this is cool. Will have to drop in when back in Poland.
WOW this is simply NOT even a knife at this point -- This is MORE of a piece of ART than it is knife . So for those who have a lot of $$$ & like knife Art this is a WINNER !😜

Whoever says that "You just push a button on a machine, it doesn't take skill" Is completely clueless. You sound like you work in the office up front because that's what they think to. Even with modern CNC software that would make this worlds easier to program than G code. That is still a heck of a lot of work, tooling, work holding, terrible shooting, and TIME. Would this be more amazing if have done, of course, and almost unbelievable. But that is a beautiful work of art, and objectively too, unlike people who think 100 layers of white paint or a literally bananas duct taped to a wall is art.

And this is why I love this channel! MC, thank you so much for showing us beautiful knives like this.
Amazing how he has made the Timascus look like a silk pillow that the pivot sinks into.
The mother of pearl inlay leaves the impression of a comet and its tail- no words can do justice

Total gas station knife that's beautiful

Should have a diamond glass breaker😅
This is art. Absolutely amazing.
Very nice. I prefer minimalist designs, but this is truly a piece of art that can be appreciated in it's own right.
Mother of pearl, zirca ti, and carbon fiber working together way better than I would have thought.
Pocket lint trap! 😂
I don't think you're meant to just carry this in a lint filled pocket lol
Anyone who can afford to carry this doesn't have pocket lint.
@@realbroggoor they’re rich enough to not care lmao
Reminds me of nice watch movement finishing. Really neat.
That's an excellent comparison to what's going on here. Craftsmen showing off their skills.

It appears to be a frame lock.

I agree. For me this would be a display case knife, conversation piece, never carried, handled occasionally simply to admire.

Gives me ornate Egyptian architecture vibes. Gorgeous knife.

Beautiful. You need to get a hold of a Rainy Valloton auto now.
I recently purchased the identical knife #27.
When I saw that BOTH gloves were on, I knew this was serious business
Beautiful work there
Never been into lesbars, but that's an intricate and pretty knife.
Man! I just don't know if I can ever trust that blade-lock without seeing you bash the spine against a 2X4 ! 😮❤
Machines make this kind of work obtainable to far more people, they are people that do work like that by hand with no more than a dremel but that takes months and the cost reflects that.
I love unique collector knives, but even this is beyond me. This belongs in an art gallery or museum. ❤
This is the upper echelon in the Blade community. Beautiful knife.
The most expensive badass letter opener I have definitely ever seen.🙂🙃
Holy doodle! Just incredible 🤯
I paused the screen so I could literally look at every detail work done That’s beautiful ❤
8.9 on the slap
My problem is I love to use them. I enjoy maintenance from cleaning to sharpening
I want to see TriState EDC review something like this. I'm sure he'd have some creative words to describe this. 😂
These guys can make titanium look like a basket weaving.
Insane
Staggeringly good looking piece.
Saying modern machining isn't impressive because "a machine does all the work" is like saying programming isn't impressive because "a computer does all the work"
The people who say that have zero idea on what actually happens in a high end machine shop. Or what goes into cad/cam programming.

This style might not be MY jam and “too over the top” FOR ME. But the artistry and utter craftsmanship is absolutely un-freaking-deniable!
Ok... I might be done. I'm trying to do a small TH-cam knife channel, but I can't compete with this. Perhaps Nothing can...🎉
Looked like The lettering on the underside of the scales was gold colored inside the purple ano.
Very very beautiful but also expensive. But very cool knife
Wow, the detail is INSANE! If I owed it, labeled safe queen!!!
Definitely reminds me of a Todd Bodega although also it's own design. It's beautiful.
