    Saw 'em last night and with no disrespect to the other 3 support bands,Suffocation showed us all how it should be done.I was stood just a couple of feet away from Mr.Hobbs and he performed as if this,was his first ever gig in front of people!Astonishing energy.I was the oldest person there(71),and watching him gave ME energy!!Inspiring.

    Suffo are on of the most down to earth, genuinely cool people on the death metal scene (talking about the big bands). I have been lucky enough to meet the guys several times, and even open for them.
    Once I was at the door of a venue in Paris, waiting for my lady to arrive from work to the Suffocation gig. Culross was outside and asked me if I wasn't going to get in (last opening band before Suffocation was almost ending). I explained the situation and Dave, out of nowhere, puts me and my wife on the guest list, I had just told him we were buying the tickets at the door. Great attitude, very good people.

      @@johnnytsunami7150Yep...it's just so frustrating as being an outsider metal-head from the 90s man. I never payed attention to politics until Obama forced everyone to buy health insurance in 2013 (completely unconstitutional...yet they didn't vote to stop the penalties for it for another 2 years after they amassed a few billion dollars!!). Then Trump really shook things up while he was in office and practically humiliated 'the established elite'. This resulted with the corporate media to constantly be on a globalist-funded fear-campaign the last 2 even 3 years with anything they can use (racial tensions, economic instability, the mild symptoms of the Omicron variant...mild?, seriously??? -haha) to keep people on their toes. To me, it's like watching a busy 8-lane highway...I can simply stand there and be amazed that none of the cars are crashing into one another where as the media looks at it like "this is absolutely insane...everyone is going to die at any second!!!!!!" Haha. Unfortunately, for the narrow-minded masses, this plants a feeling of uncertainty in the unconscious...causing average people to doubt their own plans and future. They will get frustrated and start to look for that next political 'savior' (who is guaranteed to have a fresh new agenda to keep the 'big money' companies fat and happy). Remember, every time you spend a dollar...think about who ends up with the profits (very likely the A-holes who are funding the fear campaigns).

    Funny how this interviewer asks terrance hobbs about racism, I guess he was expecting terrance to say "oh yeah racism held me back and it was really hard to be in the metal scene because of so much racism and hate" and the answer he actually got was "in my 30 year career I can only think of like one or two times wehre like one guy was being a racist" Kind of puts a REALISTIC spin on the REALITY of racism in america... If TERRANCE can play metal to, at the time, an almost exclusively white audience, with no hate, be accepted, and embraced, and nobody give a shit, then that's the testament that what the TV is trying to tell people about racism in america is complete bullshit. But we all knew this already... they've brainwashed the truth out of alot of us, but the reaity is, most americans are NOT racist, if they were, you'd have never even heard the name "terrance hobbs" and thankfully america ISN'T racist, because terrance is like a super hero to me and I'm glad I was able to hear such good music from him. And me, like pretty much everybody in metal, never gave two shits WHAT color he is, and LUCKILY, his presence in metal as a musician, helped pave the way and open the door for the kids in the BLACK COMMUNITY to be exposed to music they otherwise would NOT be exposed to, due to the idea upheld in the black community that black people should only listen to "black music" whatever the fuck that's supposed to be, so terrance just being IN a metal band makes metal music acceptable for members of the black community to venture into without losing their "black card" or whatever that bullshit's about. Terrance and people like terranc,e and terrance's fans REMIND US that almost nobody in america gave a shit about race until the media started obsessing over it.

      A black man invented Heavy Metal. When it comes down to it Jimi Hendrix may not have been exactly playing Heavy Metal, but he was doing the closest music to Metal at the time. If 6 were 9 inspired War Pigs, and everyone these days seems to believe that Black Sabbath invented Metal, I totally disagree with the popular opinion on that. Black Sabbath was crucial to the evolution, but as Hendrix, Blue Cheer, Led Zeppelin etc. They still weren't quite there

    • @ThrashMetalIQ
      @ThrashMetalIQ 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @Adan I call BS - metal shows in LA are 90% Latino - nobody anybody problems in either direction. Metalheads are not racist. Stop trying to be a victim. You are not one.

    • @godetonter4764
      @godetonter4764 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @Adan I don't think the term Westbank is racist. It's pretty rude, but it's about people's perception of illegal aliens stealing work from US citizens. It was originally derived from swimming the Rio Grande River. Whatever color illegal immigrants are is irrelevant. I find the entire scenario ridiculous considering Spanish people were in the USA a good 150 years prior to the British colonies. If the United States would spend more time trying to improve the economy of Mexico, instead of helping out the Near East and China the World would be a better place

    • @zachrabbit5463
      @zachrabbit5463 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

I think this is also generational, but more people should listen to him, be aware racism exists, and stop using it (whiteys) as a way to congratulate yourself in your BS woke wars. Enough is enough the metal scene needs to have a real conversation about this, both in recognizing racism's existence and not blowing it out of proportion for scene points.
