Dear god, don’t do this exercise people. Even with the “correct” form like this it will mess you up. Took me months to fix the pain it caused in my back. There are better oblique exercises.

Maybe the weight was too much ? How much did u lift ? And worked both sides ?
Palloff press instead of this.. this exercise puts unnecessary pressure on spine vertebrae
