  • Here are my top tips you haven't heard of to edit video faster in DaVinci Resolve 17. This is an advanced tutorial from a pro to help get you cutting video easier and faster than you ever have before! I dare you to tell me that you didn't learn at least one new thing in this tutorial ;)
    Faster selects editing using swap timeline and source viewer instead of source tape or pancake editing, shuffle and swap edits, replace edits for sound design, fit to fill for cutting to the beat of a music track, trim start and trim end to quickly clean up your dailies, extend edit for graphic alignment, match frame for finding that perfect bit of dialogue or b-roll, trim in source, and even the famous DaVinci Resolve ripple overwrite function is not only explained but put into it's best use case scenarios.

      Bro, can you explain the swap the timeline and source viewer in a simple way cause it's kind of complicated for me to understand this tip?

    • @CreativeVideoTips
      @CreativeVideoTips  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@zapvamsi8045 basically it lets you control 2 timelines at once. The source is a timeline you drag to the left source monitor. The other timeline is the destination you want to edit to. To open the destination timeline. it’s a normal double click.
      I have another tutorial on here that focuses more on this one technique. It’s called something like edits selects like a pro or similar.
      Hope this helps.

    Thanks again Chadwick, I appreciate your time in preparing these videos. I really have no time to look for all these shortcuts, well, to be honest I;m too lazy to go look for them since I don't know if what I am looking for actually exist on a huge list of shortcuts. You are a real time saver just like your videos my man.

    • @CreativeVideoTips
      @CreativeVideoTips  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No problem! One thing I do anytime I pick up new shortcuts is add it to a note (I use apple notes) - then try to add one or two new shortcuts to my muscle memory each month from that list. Before you know it, editing/grading will feel like you're just playing an instrument. Thanks for watching!

      @@CreativeVideoTips yeah. It kept nibbling away at the shot in the timeline. It seems to be a tool that could do with a few more options, for example if you could remove or disable the middle of a clip.

      Awesome Christian! I’m glad to hear some of these are new for ‘ya.
      I appreciate the sub, all my future videos for sure won’t be quite this advanced but I’m sure glad it found you with some useful new tricks. 👍🏻

      @@CreativeVideoTips I don´t mind advanced tips and tricks. In fact quite the opposite. Im a proffesional based in munich/germany as well, switched from Premiere to da Vinci. It´s different but at the same time not. And im doing thing like i always did in Premiere, but as i saw there are many things i could do faster or more afficient in Da Vinci. Got my speed Editor some days ago. starting do work more with the cut page. Mulitcam is just awesome. How I won´t quite my sub anyway. :) But as I said Id me more than thankful if you will make also those advanced stuff. Also in Fusion (still confusion as an old AE user) but it is getting better.

      @@CreativeVideoTips Awesome, that's nice to hear. I'm obviously a big fan of yours too and this video was so helpful and well done. I think the only one that I regularly use in my own workflow is ripple trim to start/end (which I mapped to 'w' and 's'), but I'm definitely going to work on incorporating the rest
