Keep this in mind: The SP buttons are setup as a controller as 'port 1' and it is assigned to player 1 in the Quick Menu of RetroArch. So if I add a controller like you're doing.. I setup the controller as 'Port 2' and then assign that port to player 1 (I set the SP 'port 1' as player 2) I made a video (one of my first videos last year) about mapping a 6 button Sega Genesis controller in RetroArch. The handheld should stay as Port 1. Setup your 8BitDo controller as Port 2. Then, set "Player 1" as Port 2. After that, set "Player 2" as Port 1. This will mean the handheld is "Player 2" and it can be used for the menus. Always keep the handheld as Port 1
The SP itself is setup as 'port 1' and external controllers get detected as 'port 2' and 'port 3' in retroarch. So I usually change 'player 1 controls' as 'port 2' and then 'player 2 controls' as 'port 1' This makes the SP player 2. That way your controller is player 1 and they both still work for me. I use the SP to navigate the menus
Your 128GB card likely has all the games you want. I just reccomend people to backup both cards in case they're missing any files when they do the update, such as save files. Don’t use game rooms it’s garbage
The blue sd cards that come with are made by Toshiba and have been pretty accepted by the community as useable. The black no name cards yes indeed change that shite out.
I'm glad they are finally putting reliable cards in these
I noticed Altered Beast wont play on RA Games even switching cores, but it plays on Game Rooms.
@@toycoma98 try adding your own game file of Altered Beast. It's possible the file they supplied is no good. Sometimes I try a couple of different files to see which one works
no one wants this format lol
I do.
Where have you been? 😂
I do too 🙋♂️
So I got myself a RG35XX recently. A friend of mine started playing it. So I showed her this and she yelled out "I loved the Gameboy SP!"
Hahaha that's awesome. The Game Boy SP was genius
12:58 it does not have a 64 zip file, only 16
It seems like since my tutorial, they started only releasing 16GB software updates, which should be fine if you're using a 2nd SD card for your games. You'd think they would keep 64GB options available for future updates 🤔
My 64gb card is now 1.99gb after flashing the new firmware.. wtf. can someone help ?
You should flash it with the 64GB firmware. You can contact Anbernic customer service and they will link you to the file. They took down the 64GB links on their website. Use Rufus to flash it
Happy birthday!! I got mine yesterday, but retroarch is so difficult for me. I've been watching videos and still only understand basically what I already figured out myself. There's so many menus and options. Plus all the files that dont need to be seen. Like just alot, i hope I can grasp it and customize to my liking soon. Spent the last 2 days trying to get it set up. Also how do you get the gameroom/ RA game folder to read card? Mine are always empty, so I have to use retroarch itself. Just wish it was not so difficult for somethimg that should be plug and play. I love clamshells and would like to get this working to play. Also the touch power button to analog does not work for me. I also mapped the d pad to the analog controls for n64. But it unfortunately does not work for me. Does any of this become second nature.
Thank you! It sounds like your unit may be defective? You could try doing the software update to see if it fixes anything. You should be able to do a return for a new one if you need to. Also, try watching some RetroArch guides on TH-cam they can be very helpful. I read about it on Reddit too
@batpixel You're welcome, thank you for the fast reply. I hope it's not defective. I'll see what I can do. I did update and download the latest firmware. I just can't get the D pad to emulate joystick and I don't see anything showing up under RA folder. I have to go into the Retroarch app itself. It be a bummer to have to send it back. Would I just message the company I bought it from or contact Anbernic themselves? Everything else appears to work. I can play games when I do load them. I just have a learning curve ahead of me lol. But those where the two things I don't have out of the box. Is the RA folder is just empty and the analog option. I'll keep looking around, but also try sending a message to Anbernic maybe before it gets to late.
I'd say contact whoever you bought it from
@batpixel Sounds good, many thanks again for the replies and video. I hope you have a great day or evening.
