    Do not forget GP is haute horlogerie (high art of watchmaking), Rolex is not. The mechanism can be contemplated on the back of this watch, and is very beautiful. I love rolex watches, but they spend lots of money in marketing and masses craving for them make them less accessible to retail value. Their marketing propaganda (Rolex) had been excellent for decades, just take a look on who sponsors Roland Garros, and other grand slams for Tennis/Golf and other sports. Rolex watches are very durable, extremely reliable, but not (and anyone can take a look to this statement): not haute horlogerie, unlike GP. GP used to produce mechanisms for AP and VC, also GP are produced in-house, and they date back to 18th century as a brand. I think GP deserves more credit, and perhaps better marketing department, lastly their heritage in watchmaking history is a fact, and not an opinion.

    • @my2l

      this movement is not really haute horlogerie, I've also had several vintage GPs and they were rolex omega tier watches at best.

      @@my2lwhat? do some research. GP is leagues above Rolex and Omega when it comes to a finishing and movement. I own Rolex but I don’t ever think to compare it to my GP’s

    • @my2l
      @my2l 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@DD-hj3sj not when it comes to their basic movements, I wouldn't classify laureato as having a haute horology movement, the anglage is not hand finished and they don't even use a gold rotor, reliability has also been a concern in the past. High end GP like three gold bridges is a different story when it comes to finishing.

    Just order exact the same…..42mm blue dial. In my country (Belgium) there is only one official distributor in the capital of Bruxelles. The sales manager told me I will have to wait until December to get it and that period is growing every day due to the fact that people are coming into the store every day asking about the same watch. we will see on the long run where the the future of GP lays now they have left the Kering groupe and being completely independent. other hard to get brands are helping GP’s brand recognition by people looking for the next best thing. I was stunned to see it in real life, it’s a fantastic piece!

    Moin Niko!
    Congrats on another heavy hitter in your collection. I have putted the watch on my list a while ago. But I never had the chance to try it on. Just from the look of it, it’s similar to my ML Aikon or the B&M Riviera. But of course the movement and the overall finish distinguishes the Laureato as a luxury timepiece. The titanium version would be a nice one too. I like the date at 6 better that at 3 o’clock. But with its 44mm it might have an even bolder wrist presence.
    I wonder if it is still possible to get a decent discount on the watch. But I’m afraid that even GP watches are harder to get nowadays…

Wondering if you could tell me how the GP compares to the sub in terms of Robustness? I texted you in IG but I guess you have not seen it. So I am curious to know about the precision of the movement. I know the brand has a long history and heritage behind it. However I have never owned one and don’t know anyone who does. I reserved the 42 laureato black dial and should be receiving it any day now. I own a Rolex DJ and the movement is superbe, and it mentions on the website +/- 2 sec accuracy. I have a Bvlgari as well and the movement is pretty good. GP on the other hand doesn’t say anything about that. I know you have only had it for such a short period of time, but what do you think?

    Lovely piece!
    The Laureato continues to fly under the radar; as most are fixated on the APs, the PPs and the VCs.
    Regarding the 2 piece cushion, Personally I believe it’s a great design,
    1 large size won’t accommodate the watch if and when a few or
    many links are removed for a smaller wrist owner;
    And a small cushion would be too small for the full bracelet or one that had a couple of links removed.
    With the 2 piece design, it addresses both scenarios;
    however you’re still stuck with where to put the larger sleeve if indeed your watch requires only the smaller cushion. 🤔😉

The hour and minute hands don’t reach the markers and in the macro lens you get dust and the indexes are not well polish and it doesn’t feel premium quality for a US 13.000 watch. I wouldn’t pay more than 8-9. Although like I said it’s a beautiful watch and you don’t see it everyday. Hope you enjoy it a lot.

    It might be a prestigious brand but honestly not my cup of tea. Does not look like a premium/luxury piece niether provides uniqueness. Desregarding price tag i would swap this watch with a DayDate in two seconds. Nice video though, Cheers
