Very nice. Took this inspiration and tried to incorporate into a VTOL I have. Works 'fine' in plane mode, but in helicopter mode, a completely different story. As with normal helicopters or even using blades in a vertical fashion, the turbine has no pitch, roll or collective control. Going to be an interesting one controlling it with this idea. Challenge started! Don't hurt your head on that one too much.
Well, before watching this, i had no idea how to build a plane . Now i know how the pros do it 😅 Just strap some rudders onto an engine and you got a plane haha !🤣
Similar to how jet engines came about, originally they were experimenting with using a turbine to recover exhaust gasses from the engine, and instead of using that turbine to power a compressor for a turbocharger they hooked it to the output and used it to help drive the prop. After some refinements and further experimentation they realized the turbine was outputting almost as much power as the entire engine, and so they moved from a reciprocating engine to generate hot exhaust gasses to a gas generator, and the jet engine was born
Loved the video @ProfNCognito! Can't wait for the next video man! Try Building an Engine like the R-2800 Cyclone or the Merlin 25 which have 18 Cylinders on them, then Build a Fighter or a Bomber with the Engine!
Fascinating, as Mr Spock would say. I suspect when you ended up ramming that rock that the creation was hinting at wanting to be compact... (c; Loved the video, keep it up.
Actually turned out to be a really cool vehicle :) But I was wondering, because I'm a beginner on Stormworks: Is the Large Jet Intake the most compact powerful air propulsion system, is that why you used it? If you rank Large Jet Intake, Large Ducted Fan and Aircraft Propeller, in which order do they rank in compact power?
Wow, that's pretty neat, and crazy powerful given how compact it is. I have to wonder what the turbine is doing in that setup though, because it seems like you're just driving it externally with the diesel engine in order to get it to spin the fan but I think you could accomplish the same thing just running the RPS directly to the large ducted fan without the turbine? I've done that on a train before trying to get it to go ridiculously fast and it works pretty well.
Do the large jet intakes have to be exposed to the outside, or will this work buried in a build? I kind of want to add these to my submarines, because I hate the prop sounds.
oh, btw do you know how to make a diesel engine that has the turbo whistle sound? i dont remember what the truck name it was but whenever i started moving i heard some whistle noise with the engine.@@ProfNCognito
@@ProfNCognito I often struggle making enough power for a water jet boat. Most of the time I can get it to work but it's way to much fuel consumption. This looks like it could be interesting for that
We need a space dlc for stormworks then u need spacesuits or u die and ur in 0 gravity and if ur on a spaceship/plane and ur not connected u just float away
Bro predicted space DLC
I’m just picturing the look on someone’s face when they spent 100 h on some super jet just to see someone fly by on an engine with flaps
“Trusts me in an engineer”
wow, i didn't know I could do that. You make very good tutorials
Thanks!
Now _this_ is Polikarpov Pod Racing.
I genuinely cannot believe this! I am speechless. keep doing what you are doing, this was a very enjoyable video!
This is something the Minions would fly.

found a way to do this for a jet using ducted fans clutches and pivots

it reminds me of the GEE BEE R1 from the 30s its and old racing plane.
@@ProfNCognito Oh cool !
I'll have to go check it out now ;-)
Great pacing and a beautiful build sir.

13:23 this fighter, was unbeaten until the end of the war when it was not needed as country’s were at peace
I love how compact that is
I have heard of turbo prop, but radial diesel jet that is a first! Good job bud.
5:05 I always connect A into B because that makes sense
How long have I played this game and never noticed there’s a 3x1 crankshaft 😂 Nice job 👍
Everyone forgets the 3x1!
Very cool, the final design looks like the Soviet I-16.
no😂

"any now we've created art."
great video it helps me understanding the game i am new so it helps alot
You made a GeeBee!!!
lol so funny but love it, very nice👌
Thanks 😆

This looks like an actual design for a jet engine
It really helped
Similar to something I made, except what I made was a nuclear steam setup driving four large jet intakes and a few ducted fans.
Nice
Could you do a tutorial on gun fast travel

there is no connection point for rps on the fan so you need the turbine.
@@ProfNCognito Ah, so the turbine is just being driven by the engine which then spends the fan. Neat!
Yep!
This is the gokart of jets

Pretty sure they need to be open to the environment like rudders.
Would be perfect for a gee bee r2- esk plane.
Can i use this for a car? if so how, do i connect the same drivetrain leading to the turbine to a transmission?
Remove the fan turbine and connect to wheels

Hey ik that the flaps were for funnzies but what can I actually use this engine for?
Big planes or push engine for helicopter.
speed converter workshop link?
This is basically prototype version of Oppressor MK II. Lol.😂😂
I know this kinda jokes. Only thing lack is hover capabilities
hover you say?
why don't you have it in your workshop?
small do to make thrust
how do I build better?
Practice
Mine wont stay straight. Its goes but doesnt stau straight like yours
Just double check everything. I goof up all the time. Mirror mode loves to get me.
Can you adapt this to a boat?
Give it a shot. That will be a fast boat.

A new take on a fan boat.
Where did microcontroller you get it?
Description
@@ProfNCognitothank you
👌
i am confused by the title
and also ,hello there
My Fighter jet just got humbled by an engine with a seat and flaps
About 75% to an me-263
ачешуенно :)
thats not turbo diesel cuz turbo diesel is a turbocharged diesel engine and this is just a normal engine with a turbine
yep i fumbled my words
The title does say turbine diesel. Yes he does say turbodiesel in some instances in the video, but those words are similar enough for mistakes
v12 steam Engine
what is the name of the microcontroller😡😡😡
WHY you mad bro. The link is in the description like I said it was.

All they have to do is reskin the diving suit. Pressure is already a thing.
