It's about a Cossack warrior who dreams of his death in an imminent battle. On Diana's face you see sadness, anxiety and pain of the soul of the Cossack warrior. One would swear she borrowed that soul to perform the song.
How does Diana Ankudinova do it you may ask? Taking into account that Diana was only 14 years old at the time Dernière Danse was performed. How can such a young female singer reach such a low, rich, deep sound? Some think of Shakira others of Cher ... but it really depends on what effect the girl wants to produce. Into the Skys was written for her... Blizzard sounds like a dark film or Video game score but though a cover she pretty much owns it..you feel the emotional blizzard. She creates. Shes still developing the skills and confidence to write and compose her own material.. but shes had her formal training now and some success at home and on the net so shes over coming her reserve now and is working out what she feels and has to say about life.. She can appear stunning in her big performances but she is also she is also far from where many western female artists would be in terms of support collaboration and lifestyle, given her talents and mastery of the live stage. In that respect shes more like previous generations of stage artists. It will be interesting to see how she develops as shes still only 19 if she gets to travel and meets some inspirational female mentors. Who do you think she would benefit most from performing and hanging out with? No, while she sings in different languages (including Arabic) she only speaks Russian. The song Can't Help Falling in Love is not the Elvis song, but rather 8 words lifted from the song repeated over and over which more is like a vocal exercise. Much prefer, from that show, her Russian "rock" song (by Alice) called Crow. I do like this song very much which was originally done by Indila and the little head turn is a take from the music video though I do enjoy Indila's acoustic performance here - th-cam.com/video/eehzpPOzdg/w-d-xo.html Not much original stuff in her catalog though there was a collaboration with both a composer and lyricist where she sang songs they wrote for her, all in Russian. Seldom sings with backing band but rather backing tracks. A child of the State. Kudos on the pronunciation of her name by the way. Few are able to get past the Western way of the literal pronunciations of the syllables. I still have to focus on pronouncing it correctly.

It's about a Cossack warrior who dreams of his death in an imminent battle. On Diana's face you see sadness, anxiety and pain of the soul of the Cossack warrior. One would swear she borrowed that soul to perform the song.
How does Diana Ankudinova do it you may ask? Taking into account that Diana was only 14 years old at the time Dernière Danse was performed. How can such a young female singer reach such a low, rich, deep sound? Without actually scoping her vocal tract, the general conciseness of many vocal professionals attributes Diana’s sound to the unique vocal anatomy she was just born with. Diana’s vocal folds appear to be longer and thicker than the vast majority of female singers. Also, her larynx also appears to be bigger along with her vocal track, which similarly appears to be longer than most other female singers. It’s this unique vocal anatomy that gives her the ability to produce these low, deep, rich, and full sounds, but without actually scoping Diana’s vocal track there is no way to be 100% sure.

Every cover she does is next level but if you want to hear originals she has many of them too, do not get discouraged if most of them are Russian, she always provides lyrics and honestly they are so good that you do not even have to understand them.
She just published her first song completely produced by her, voice/music/lyrics, you simply have to listen to that one.

He agreed, but at the same time punished him: 'If you leave the tree, it will be destroyed'. Time passed, the young wind got bored and rose once into the sky.
The tree died, leaving only a branch that was hit by a gust of wind. A young man found this branch and cut a pipe from it. But the voice of that pipe was sad. Since then the Duduk has been played in Armenia: at weddings, funerals, in war and in peace.

Can't wait till you react to 2 songs by Diana ... the cover of Elvis Presley's "Can't help falling in love" sung in the minor key which makes it totally different ..dramatic, epic! Then there is "My Love" sung in an intimate setting live, sounds so much like Amy Winehouse ..dark, deep, sultry voice. 🙂

Some think of Shakira others of Cher ... but it really depends on what effect the girl wants to produce. Into the Skys was written for her... Blizzard sounds like a dark film or Video game score but though a cover she pretty much owns it..you feel the emotional blizzard. She creates.
Shes still developing the skills and confidence to write and compose her own material..
but shes had her formal training
now and some success at home and on the net so shes over coming her reserve now and is working out what she feels and has to say about life..
She can appear stunning in her big performances but she is also she is also far from where many western female artists would be in terms of support collaboration and lifestyle, given
her talents and mastery of the live stage.
In that respect shes more like previous generations of stage artists.
It will be interesting to see how she develops as shes still only 19 if she gets to travel and meets some inspirational female mentors.

Love your reactions, thank you! And she was just 14 in this video. She remarked once in an interview that she doesn't want to just sing the notes of a song, but wants to sing from inside the song. Sometimes she won't even remember her performance she gets so immersed in the song.
You mentioned wanting to hear more original material, and it just so happens that Diana has just released her first song with her own music and lyrics. Very touching lyrics (given her background) and wonderful vocalizations.

This composition was created in the early 70s on the basis of folk songs for the Slavic song festival, it was first performed by Alla Pugacheva, who soon after became the most famous singer in the USSR. Hello Rosalie, Diana is a very very special voice, in fact unique, but i feel that she needs to grow up a little more, it´s not totally complete, in my opinion, but with all the respect for her work... Now it is time for you react at another level up...yes, the music is subjective but for mi there are several levels, and currently there are one person in the top, alone and far for the others, in terms of objectivity. No, while she sings in different languages (including Arabic) she only speaks Russian.
The song Can't Help Falling in Love is not the Elvis song, but rather 8 words lifted from the song repeated over and over which more is like a vocal exercise. Much prefer, from that show, her Russian "rock" song (by Alice) called Crow.

Not much original stuff in her catalog though there was a collaboration with both a composer and lyricist where she sang songs they wrote for her, all in Russian. Seldom sings with backing band but rather backing tracks. A child of the State.
Kudos on the pronunciation of her name by the way. Few are able to get past the Western way of the literal pronunciations of the syllables. I still have to focus on pronouncing it correctly.
