My choice for manager (or First Team Coach) would be Poyet - for midfield creativity and Cattermole for solid midfield spirit in defence

Ha!! You've witnessed some shite in your time supporting the club Eddie but spare a thought for fans like myself who have seen everything since the club were first relegated in 1958, you've barely scratched the surface kid, Haway the lads.

I’ve been lucky really, Reid being my first manager was a great start. The scary thing is from 1958 to 1995 when Reid came in we had less managers than we have had since! Who was your favourite manager?

​@@EddyBamber Stokoe for obvious reasons but Bomber Brown for the promotion season in 64 runs him very close. Others worthy of a mention are George Hardwick who should really have been given the job permanent afte keeping us up and I always had time for Len Ashurst who was a no nonsense player and manager but was at the club in less than favourable times to achieve more as our boss. The greatest failings of all came from owners and directors but especially Tom Cowie who turned down Brian Clough. ps I almost forgot Dennis Smith who led us out of the old third div after the debacle that was Makmakemoney.

Some name’s there, you must have lots of great SAFC stories from the decades!
I would love to make a video about managers Pre-Reid, and might have a go. Just don’t want it to come across as me reading about them, its better having lived it and experienced their time. (Apart from Mcmenamy, he was dreadful without question!)

@@EddyBamber I could probably write a book on the subject Eddie if my memory was a bit clearer although I vividly remember meeting Alan Kennedy when he was playing for us and he told me Macmenemy was shite and didn't have a clue, I couldn't disagree with him either. Haway the lads.
