I love how this theme is reminding everyone that Fatalis is the sendoff of the whole game (World/Iceborne). But Velkhana is ICEBORNE's farewell fight, like it's right for it to be.
My heart goes out to this poor dragon. Outdone by Shira ishvalda for the plot, and ruiner steals the show at the end. And now with the final update the AT version is finally coming, only for fatalis and alatreon to distract hunters from fighting it. You deserved much more, my icy friend.
I like how this is Velkhana theme, mashed up with all the key Iceborne themes in order, while storyline ending theme notes play almost though the entirety of it. This is it. This is the "farewell" fight of Iceborne, and the last memory to remember it by.

A shame, really, because I would have loved to see AT versions of all T3s, including the non-elder ones. Seething, Savage, Stygian, and Raging all deserved better.

I figured you would say something like that which is why my response will simply be. To not sit on it for full health and simply try and move as much as possible within the general area of the health booster! Works for me.

Velkhana is one of the most underrated monsters. After the beta everyone forgot about it and that's sad because it's technically a flagship monster of iceborne
I think both Seregios and Velkhana are great designs, but they do indeed suffer from the same problem: They are overshadowed by the flagship of the base game and don’t have enough instant “cool” factor to compensate. Like Seregios feels more like a regular monster than a flagship, and Velkhana is another Elder Dragon in a game full of cool Elder Dragon designs.

AT Velkhana froze the door, crashed through it, and came to remind everyone where Iceborne got its name from. Even with full Fatalis armor and the most optimized set for damage possible, if your not positioned correctly, you’ll be turned into a popsicle in no time flat.
The bastard forced me to cut Glavenus tail twice for the LS, she was annoying as heck. and yet her face for somehow reason gives me the feeling of a caring mother, while it being a maniac stabber.
I actually cried when I finally finished AT Velkhana's quest, because I know we won't be getting a game like World/Iceborne for a very, very long time. Such a great game.

There's a few things they could improve on. Fixing the horrible power creep, stopping the artificial difficulty these new monsters have presented. However, many other things they perfected. Overall great game.

Glad Wilds is going to be based on World and not Rise. For me, Rise was a step back in terms of maps and music. Also prefer Clutch claw over Wire bugs.
This quest and music is essentially Velkhana inviting you to a final showdown, the last duel as if enticing you asking to show how much you’ve grown as a hunter in this glorious battle. I’ve always loved Velkhana and sad they were never more important to the plot, but appreciated nonetheless.
I honestly really love this monster and fighting it is really fun, it’s too bad it easily gets overshadowed by Fatalis and Alatreon, I had to farm Velkhana for crystals and enjoyed every second of fighting it. Velkhana truly deserves more recognition from the community.
I would love if they had their normal themes for the first half of the battle, and the arch tempered themes upon entering rage mode the first time under 50%.
Once we slay AT Velkhana that's it, the send-off of Monster Hunter World and Iceborne. It has been an honor, Hunters, happy hunting! Edit: So first, great to see so many passionate hunters, second I am very much aware AT Velkhana might not be the end, but as it stands Vel and possibly Safi are the last monsters, events will continue, I never said they wouldn’t. It’s odd seeing regular Velkhana being added this late in the game’s life. It’d be neat if they added a “second” phase to the fight to increase the challenge. It would give them a good reason to reuse this theme, too.
AT Velkhana is basically saying, “WE aren’t done yet, WE have one last hunt. So let us end it ALL” To put things into perspective, AT Velkhana came after Fatalis in the timeline, meaning if these AT hunts are in any way canon then we don’t know if the hunters survive THIS hunt.

I hope they still decide to put in AT Blackveil and AT Ruiner Regardless tho, it has been one hell of a ride through this game and I'm thoroughly hyped for the next installment that is Rise. MHW will always be my most hyped game franchise introduction, and I'm glad to be a part of the MH community.
This music fills me with motivation. I have come a long way since starting MHW, and become an expert a number of weapon types and adept in the rest. The one I started with and mained all the way through base MHW was my bow, and it holds a special place in my heart. When AT Velkhana reveals herself, I will pick up my bow once more, and end MHW the way I began it. One final challenge.
@@caesarthemonkey2488 It has proven more difficult than I anticipated, though I am inclined to believe it is my teammates fainting constantly that are limiting me. That, and elderseal seems to only be going off once in the beginning of the fight and failing to proc again thereafter. Still a very fun fight for me
Velkhana's theme is definitely drawing inspiration from Mars of Holst's Planets. You can hear the iconic rhythm in the cellos, and also some bits of the brass parts are really reminiscent of the brass part in Mars.

This fight is poetry. After soloing Alatreon and Fatalis, I felt like I’d won. I felt that I was well equipped and skilled enough to take on anything in the game, and realistically I was. I finally decided to try out this quest and man, the first few notes of the music really showed me that this was more than I had expected. It wasn’t long before I started noticing how tough this was going to be, and more importantly that despite everything beforehand I was still imminently in danger. But I won, with two minutes on the clock and with a heart rate the game hadn’t made me feel since Fatalis. One last dance at the place where Winter sleeps.
I so badly wish I was good at animation I always make up scenes in my head for songs and other media that play out like movies, and this is no exception I just don’t have the capacity to animate well (or the time [or the stuff needed]) Example: hunter sits with Velkhana for a bit, reminiscing with them. After realizing they’ve been rambling, the hunter stands and says “...May I have this dance?” and bows before Velkhana. Velkhana accepts, they take their positions at 0:00-0:12, and the battle begins

I must have listened to this a hundred times! The devs put so much love into world/iceborne, the fact they even remixed monsters themes at all shows the level of commitment they had to the game and the amount of hours us hunters put in shows just how much we love iceborne and world! I just love the themes from AT Velkhana and AT Nergigante. Both inspire the hunter and represent the monster completely. But what I like the most is the real difference between the two: AT Nergi theme basically says in your face: “This is my world, this is my game, no stupid shit. Face me if you can, because I'll punch your face really hard” This theme talk about a really challenge, between Nergi and the Hunter, an brutal battle, just like the elder dragon it represents. But AT Velkhana's theme says something completely different. It's graceful and cold, but it's also reminiscent of memories, fights, monsters, and even dialogue all your way through, not just Iceborne, but the entire game. The fight is a beautiful memory, where both try their best not to be forgotten. And at the end of the fight, the theme also says something else, as does Velkhana himself: “Don't forgive me. Don't forgive your journey.” Capcom made a beautiful work.
Draw 2Death they all do its just finding what or where it is. From modding the game myself adding AT Nergi theme to replace the normal one I had to do some digging around to find it.
Looking at the trailer, it definitely looks like they pulled some cues from AT Velkhana, which has me plenty hyped for the silver sovereign to make its return.
I finally fought AT Velkhana 3 days ago and despite using fatalis gear it carted me twice and took me nearly 28 mins to kill. What a send off to the flagship monster of the expansion, the fight was brutal but never felt unfair and I enjoyed every moment of it.
I was gonna comment that I just want the piano part to loop indefinitely but thankfully my brain has already taken care to play it over and over in my head :)
I don't know how to describe it but this theme sounds like if the sound itself is freezing but struggling to beat the cold and keep going, it's just magical
I really do like the additional flutes, piano notes and atmospheric moans put into this one. It gives it a bit of a reminiscent edge to go nicely with the end of World.
It was fun fighting tbe ice queen, getting stuck on her hunt for a bit and then finally ending it. Shes definitely a fun fight, and I love her design too.

Something people forget about: Barring multi element elders. Velkhana is the strongest ice element elder as kushala does wind it just so happens to use wind on ice usually giving it icy properties.
Did u knew That they went very detailed on Velkhana The first one was Nergigante But they went a extra mile with Velkhana From grabbing a lot of sounds of ice and crusts breaking To actually recording how ice break and explodes and even grows. How it will grow on Velkhana For me My favorite element is ice And seeing how deep and beyond they went with iceborne
I don’t know why people say Velkhana is overshadowed. Velkhana started the whole freakin adventure for Iceborne. Her armor is extremely good, and I spent a lot of time fighting many battles with her. Finished fighting AT Velkhana last night and man they did her justice. Such a fun fight
The final battle against the Ice Queen, ending the game that got me into the series as a whole. Im looking forward to this as a grand finale to my favorite game of all time
In some parts of the song you really get a sense of finality, that the end is coming and coming quickly for one of you. That and during the theme there are bits of all three of Velkhana'd themes blended in. This is a great way to end the expansion. Amazing fight as well, a nice challenge even in end game gear, she is relentless.
I'm actually having withdrawals after 2k glorious swag axe hours spent on mhw/iceborne 😭 somebody invent a machine that wipes select memories so I can go back and experience the best few years I've ever had gaming again........
I find beauty where no one else does.. Edit: I have never felt so much appreciation for a game. I started up with monster hunter 2 for the psp. I played monster hunter for most of my life. So it’s kinda sad that we won’t get another one for awhile. By the time the next one comes out who know’s where we will be. I hope we all find our way back in the next world to hunt once again.
Seeing the small clip we got this AT monster will have a lot more changes that previous ones and i wonder if they will make me cart as much as fatalis, probably not but this final challenge will be one im gonna have fun with.

This fight is poetry. After soloing Alatreon and Fatalis, I felt like I’d won. I felt that I was well equipped and skilled enough to take on anything in the game, and realistically I was. I finally decided to try out this quest and man, the first few notes of the music really showed me that this was more than I had expected. It wasn’t long before I started noticing how tough this was going to be, and more importantly that despite everything beforehand I was still imminently in danger. But I won, with two minutes on the clock and with a heart rate the game hadn’t made me feel since Fatalis. One last dance at the place where Winter sleeps.

I always make up scenes in my head for songs and other media that play out like movies, and this is no exception
I just don’t have the capacity to animate well (or the time [or the stuff needed])
Example: hunter sits with Velkhana for a bit, reminiscing with them. After realizing they’ve been rambling, the hunter stands and says “...May I have this dance?” and bows before Velkhana. Velkhana accepts, they take their positions at 0:00-0:12, and the battle begins

I must have listened to this a hundred times! The devs put so much love into world/iceborne, the fact they even remixed monsters themes at all shows the level of commitment they had to the game and the amount of hours us hunters put in shows just how much we love iceborne and world! Thanks again for posting this
I just love the themes from AT Velkhana and AT Nergigante. Both inspire the hunter and represent the monster completely. But what I like the most is the real difference between the two: AT Nergi theme basically says in your face:
“This is my world, this is my game, no stupid shit. Face me if you can, because I'll punch your face really hard”
This theme talk about a really challenge, between Nergi and the Hunter, an brutal battle, just like the elder dragon it represents.
But AT Velkhana's theme says something completely different. It's graceful and cold, but it's also reminiscent of memories, fights, monsters, and even dialogue all your way through, not just Iceborne, but the entire game. The fight is a beautiful memory, where both try their best not to be forgotten. And at the end of the fight, the theme also says something else, as does Velkhana himself: “Don't forgive me. Don't forgive your journey.”

One final hunt before Rise...
I finally fought AT Velkhana 3 days ago and despite using fatalis gear it carted me twice and took me nearly 28 mins to kill. What a send off to the flagship monster of the expansion, the fight was brutal but never felt unfair and I enjoyed every moment of it.

I was gonna comment that I just want the piano part to loop indefinitely but thankfully my brain has already taken care to play it over and over in my head :)

I don't know how to describe it but this theme sounds like if the sound itself is freezing but struggling to beat the cold and keep going, it's just magical
I really do like the additional flutes, piano notes and atmospheric moans put into this one. It gives it a bit of a reminiscent edge to go nicely with the end of World.

Something people forget about: Barring multi element elders. Velkhana is the strongest ice element elder as kushala does wind it just so happens to use wind on ice usually giving it icy properties.
when velkhana gets a variant i hope it plays this theme or atleast a revision of this theme

I don’t know why people say Velkhana is overshadowed. Velkhana started the whole freakin adventure for Iceborne. Her armor is extremely good, and I spent a lot of time fighting many battles with her. Finished fighting AT Velkhana last night and man they did her justice. Such a fun fight

The final battle against the Ice Queen, ending the game that got me into the series as a whole. Im looking forward to this as a grand finale to my favorite game of all time
In some parts of the song you really get a sense of finality, that the end is coming and coming quickly for one of you. That and during the theme there are bits of all three of Velkhana'd themes blended in. This is a great way to end the expansion. Amazing fight as well, a nice challenge even in end game gear, she is relentless.

Edit: I have never felt so much appreciation for a game. I started up with monster hunter 2 for the psp. I played monster hunter for most of my life. So it’s kinda sad that we won’t get another one for awhile. By the time the next one comes out who know’s where we will be. I hope we all find our way back in the next world to hunt once again.
The next mh title, mh rise, comes out on switch next year march, so in five months
