🙏 Gillian I love that you give the history of the TH-cam algorithm. 🥰One thing that I would recommend after testing it on one of my videos (that has almost 6 million views) is that over the past decade I've tested the tags section and when I put in similar tags it ranks on the first page of Google usually in the first or second place and when I change up those tags to more generic tags it drops completely to another page. I've tested this over and over and every time I put in a couple of the same tags with different endings on then this makes a big difference. Anyway I hope that helps. Big hugs 🤗💖

People who can do actual keyword research start with intuition/common sense and then move into analytics. There isn’t really a “one or the other” approach. But you did a good job giving a question i actually answered.

Choosing the keywords and planning your video around the keywords is in my opinion what sets apart an amateur TH-camr from someone who is doing it professionally. You need some proof of concept before you sit down to script, record, edit, and upload a video. If you can’t compete or you are not competent enough to talk about the subject matter, it will be a waste of time to make the video. I’ve wasted a lot of time making videos I wanted to make. Now I think about it in terms of what videos that need to be made. How can I provide value to people with the information I have?

Previously we were making video's on pretty much whatever we happened to be doing on the homestead. We are going to keep doing that, but now make sure to research the keywords a bit before hand, and make sure the video is relevant. IE, since we are starting a bunch of seeds right now for the garden, make sure we cover best way to start seeds and do's and don'ts of seed starting
I create cleaning, decluttering, and organizing videos so I usually film THEN research. I am going to try to research first. One thing that always confusing me , I will recycle a title, keywords, etc. of a well-performing video and it wont do as well. Why us that??

My son and I run the RichReviews Supercar channel and as such we create very engaging content (take a look if you have the time) but the videos just do not get properly promoted by TH-cam and though we have been focusing on the Title and Thumbnail, we have not been looking properly into SEO…until now! I have watched many so called SEO videos but many are just interested in promoting their companies and giving very little tangible information. I have managed to gather quite a bit of SEO pertinent information from many different sources and finally your video has brought much of that information together to enable me to qualify the information I have to enable me to put this to good use…thank you! In addition I Subscribed…if nothing else I believe in giving back even though many do not for us. Keep up the great content.
