Being an Indian I can tell that most of the things Eric is telling about Indian Text are correct. Ravan, the king of Lanka had got a Viman from Lord Shiv. There are stories that humans travelled to Heaven in bodily form, but when they came back, thousands of years had passed on earth and their entire generation was changed.
There are several stories which are very interesting.. and a lot of it is similar to other texts from other regions...

I recollect Einstein's quote about the 3rd and 4th world war, i.e. " I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones". Drawing a parallel to a war and flying machines that were described in Indian Vedas, one might assume such a war had already happened before here on Earth with previous civilizations and us living again in the age of sticks and stones at the time when Vedas was written.

Occam’s razor backs up that logic, because the converse idea is infinitely less likely to be true; that people just made up stories out of nothing in a time without technology of advanced technological devices and high tech driven events that we can now recognize as such.

I have no doubt that people did indeed see these things and described the wonders and horrors to the best of their ability. That we can link the illnesses and deaths described to radiation sickness is possible because we have done it, seen it, and have the science and language to understand it for what it is.

I think the Tiamat and Marduk story made sense because planets underneath the outer crust. It would appear that there were some "vimana" that traveled to the planets.
But some "vimana" were only for traveling from one part of the world to another.
Meaning not all were outer space vehicles.

The more I read and hear about this, these are not just stories.. they're actually accounts of real events around the world in every single culture.
Just as today there are cultures and tribes who are isolated and have never seen anything at all to do with the outside world, much less seen another human being other than themselves.
That's unfathomable to most people in the world and even trying to imagine that is unimaginable.

We have no technological superiority over China, which within three decades has achieved, what will take our inefficient and corrupt nation multiple decades if not a complete century to even try to build one world-class city that China has. We as Indians are great at slogans and pseudo patriotism but if you check half the Income Tax returns of political leaders and corporate businessmen you will realise, what this country of spiritual beings is all about! Sad they live like kings while we the general public have to slog our arses off to survive. The best brains leave India because they realise with reservation, casteism, envy, corruption and loads more this nation is a disgrace to democracy!
