A true legend, met him once - such a nice guy! I bought many records from the Bonzai store and I remeber I was communicating with him, through mails, back in 98 or so! :) Im lookiong forward to the new Fire and Ice production :)
We will talk about that remix for a little bit in the last of the 3 interviews I did with him. Should be online in a few weeks from now! Massive remix!
@@muzikxpress awesome!!! so much good trance came out of Belgium Amsterdam Netherlands dutch etc etc it makes up half of my collection great music great producers great times I miss so much ;(
I miss those classic percussions on those Fire & Ice tracks. He sounds a bit like ferry corsten and he seems to very much like him. Very down to earth and kind.
Dear Twan, this is another song that I only discovered through your channel. It's a real anthem! Thank you for your tireless work and best wishes from Bavaria. Robert
I never heard the 2001 remix, i'm from Ireland, all the racks that were massive in UK where big here too at that time. For me it was always the orginal one. Such a clasic!
Of course it wasn't a Top Of The Pops tune, but it was played by the residents of Gatecrasher, God's Kitchen, Passion,... All the big names like Armin and Judge Jules for instance also supported the 2001 version.
@@realdjfire No doubt, it is a banger! It passed me by. Love hearing tracks that I missed the first time round. Was just surprised as I hadn't heard it. I'm a massive fan of the original. My vinyl is near played to death. Love all the Fire and Ice stuff. Thank you for all the great music. It's timeless.
It’s really interesting to hear about the bass sound and drum style choices for the 2001 version and why they chose to do an update as well after seeing it being played by Scott Bond at Gatecrasher NEC and hearing it on the Discotech Generation CD!
A nice interview. I enjoyed listening to it. Good to know about Jurgen's background. I had a chance to see him at 2017 Legacy Festival in Belgium but I ran late (no fault of mine) and I missed his set and meeting him. I have the Fire & Ice album which is autographed by Laurent and wanted Jurgen's autograph but it didn't happen.
What is your favorite track / remix done by Fire & Ice?
Silent Cry.
Tour De Trance, San Antonio.
Sonic Inc - The taste of summer (Fire & Ice remix)
Has to be silent cry
1) Diabolic
2) Himalaya
3) Religion
My favourite Jurgen Leyers tracks are Diabolic, Himalaya and Religion. These are pure gold and essential for the fans of intelligent, deep trance.
Jetlag from him as well, absolutely masterpiece!
along with souvenir de chine i still listen to lost emotion all the damn time. some of the best most beautiful tracks trance has ever produced
Legendary producer and humble person! Excellent interview, Twan! Looking forward to the next one!

I think my favorite DJ Fire solo production is Midnight In Beijing, such a unique melody.

Jurgen is great! Super nice guy! Was my first time meeting him, but indeed, very down to earth and kind!
