@@ganbatmunkhtur9048 a ridicolus claim that they copied the flute melody from some other tune. Now they cant play the song live using that melody. something like that
@@davidtm98 It was a ridiculous claim really - nobody knew that the 'Kookaburra' song was copyright, the woman who wrote it was long dead and the case was brought 28 years after 'Down Under' was released. Basically some shit of a lawyer got in touch with the company who owned the publishing rights and suggested they sue because they (and him of course) might make a lot of money. They tried to get 60% of the royalties on the song, but were awrded only 5% by the court - but that was still a lot as the song sold millions. I don't think it's true that they are not allowed to play the flute riff live - can't find any mention of that anywhere; whether they do or not, I've no idea.
@@davidtm98 The copy write holders of "Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree" who weren't even born when that song was written sued the band for theft of intellectual property. @Luke Buckwalter Not quite there. ;)
Despite what people think, I think the 80s camera quality makes this and the music video better a thousand times more
I do dig the videcon tube cameras from back then. Especially the comet tails the lights make when the camera moves

And no phones )))) Just pure happiness !!!!
I truly can’t believe how good they are live!
They fuckin rock man
too fast though, plague of many bands
Kerry King is another example
Greg Ham (Flute, Sax, Vocals and Keys) was probably the most underappreciated element of Men at Work.
I Love my Australian Mates 🇦🇺 greetings from Chile 🇨🇱 this song is a Classic and a Masterpiece!
Confirmo
Y no veo ninguna relación con Kookaburra de Sinclair del año 1935
I’m not even Aussie but this fills me with such patriotism I feel like I’ve lived there my whole life
I now sccept you as a fellow Australian ..Welcome mate!
You don’t understand the song
It’s the opposite of patriotism

Colin is a great frontman and talented wow
A million times better than the studio version. That speaks volumes on the talent of these folks. That flute though. Hats off.

Only Colin Hay could harmonize with a massive crowd.
I saw men at work several times in the 1980s. The best time was at the Brixton Academy in London 1983 with the B52S as the support band.Nice one
