Van Life UK, Mercedes 814 Van Tour Bus To Camper Conversion

- Its finished, full van tour of my completed Mercedes 814 camper conversion, the series comes to an end, after 38 long days and nights my camper is, (with the exception of a few minor items) complete, join me for the final episode of the series on this build but stay tuned for John and Kerry's build that i will feature in a few weeks as they too take on a 813 for conversion, join me on my travels and i will keep you updated with all the facts and costings of the build and many adventures to come, thank you all xx

My wife said put a hair band across the shower door handles that will hold the doors tight together , love the conversion

Yes I’ve had a few comments about that but it will be going in shower cubicle or outside in toilet tent if needed, location is only a traveling spot, thanks for comment and take care 🚌👍

for the shower doors you could get somthink to go around the handlles to keep them togeather while driving to 100% make sure they dont fling open but they look good to me :) great looking van well done love the geek section for the computer tech hehehe

Well we made it to the finish line. I just have to say its a amazing reveal. Love what you have done to the bus. Oh that shower is so awesome looking. Its a perfect fit. I don't think you'll have any troubles with it being glass. Really though everything is so gorgeous can I say elegant. Its been a fun journey. Thank You. Few things I would do differently. 1. Put a shower head in the ceiling (I'm very tall). 2. Hang the tv up on a mount, wall or ceiling. Again... Great Job! We'll catch up with you later on in your journey. Thanks Mark for being with me throughout the build series, yes the TVs are on brackets but I agree, a wall type might be better, I’m tall as well but it was a bit awkward putting the shower head on the ceiling as the pipes looked rubbish, but I may look at another option in the future, once again thank you for your support and maybe one day I’ll travel through Canada as it’s a place I would love to visit, take care 🚌👍

Well done look great . Great effort. You could use a velcro tie to hold the doors together on the shower. Should be fine.

It ended up awesome. And you did it so fast, impressive :) and i saw you had the jack daniels ready ;) so what are your planes in the future, are you going on a trip soon? and if you planing to go to sweden i can try ti give you some tips where to go.
I have friends who have just gone to Sweden but I was to late, might have a jolly down to there though as I’m looking for a long test run, I’ll let you know, just want to make sure all is ok first for a day or two, take care 🚌👍

Thats is fantastic mate. Reminds me of a narrow boat.. you should leave the warm light . It seperates the longe from the kitchen.. well done mate.. you could wrap the shower glass in clear or frosted film? Great van ,you are gonna have a whale of a time.👍

Put some magnets on your shower doors to keep them closed.
They have magnets on and I have bungee them together. Seems to be ok but I’ll try your way if not, take care 🚌👍
Brilliant conversion,the videos have given me the get up and go to keep going with mine at times.
Question, what did you spray the door cards with?
I can’t remember what it’s called but it’s painted on with a brush, looks fantastic, shame the door cards aren’t that good, I’ll get back to you on the make or Kerry will answer, take care 🚌👍
Sometimes I Wander ace thanks again have the long whee base merc bus around the same age so the grey looks quite dated 👍 enjoy wandering been great watching the build
Love the Van. Great idea for the bed, I'm guessing that you could amend that bed depending on your needs but I really do love the van. If I could have any van to convert is would be this type of van, bigger than a standard van.

Looks great but can't for the life of me understand why you didn't go for a wet room with toilet and whb?

You’ve done a grand job of the build you should be proud of yourself ,there will always be changes made as you go ,and it all costs too,,watched an English bloke he spent 15 thousand just on the build ,then the 16 thousand for the van ,and he like you built it himself ,your will have plenty of room being a bus ,well done

in France any glass on a vehicle has to be R43 to pass the MOT

I skipped a curved shower door, it took about 4/5 throws of a massive stone before it smashed. I wouldn't worry about it.

G'day Graham and greetings from Tasmania Australia, well what a beautiful van the fit out inside is very professional and well thought out. The colours that you have chosen Graham are very nice it's a real credit to you, I'm glad you showed the bed I was wondering where it was but how you have done it's great. The shower doors will be fine because they use shatter proof glass in case you fell through it it's not going to splinter it's a safety code so it's tough stuff and it flexes so that will be fine. Well I would just like to say thank you for showing and filming the build it was good to watch the progress, one thing could you show underneath the set up of the tanks and pump arrangement and finally thanks mate and I look forward to watching your travels take care and stay safe kind regards John.

Been thinking about changing out my 3 way fridge for 240 compressor off inverter,have seen a couple that are running that way and seems all good,so will be interested in how you do it and how it works.Kerry and John must be really good mates to help you out,great team job,with that quality of work and sensible ideas I can see a business in the making.Many congratulations on the work guys,👍👍Paulo

Your shower doors will be fine just put a hair band around the handles when travelling. Van looks awesome well done guys. Are you doing anything to the outside and can we have a video of the outside and it’s storage.

Nice job, if you have to change the shower doors, go for frosted acrylic for toilet privacy if you have company.
