Ok, I've visited just over 60 countries and Peru is probably my favourite. The country has the most amazing and diverse landscapes you can see, you can tour the "Cordillera Blanca", reach the tropical Amazon or be on the beautiful beaches of northern Peru, there is also Machu Picchu! Absolutely incredible country!

@@timjohnson9054 amm, Peru will not have the beaches of the Maldives, but its beaches have the best waves in the world!! Rivaling only Hawaii, in fact surfing is believed to have originated in Peru. There are many important world surf tournaments and the Peruvian surf team is the most recognized in the region, they have many titles. I think that in Piura, Tumbes are the most beautiful beaches in Peru and the tropical Pacific.
I love Peru! if you’re watching and you haven’t been, totally recommend it. The food is amazing, people are nice, just have common sense and don’t wear nice things on not such nice areas, specially where there’s a lot of people because you never know.
In all my trip through South America, Peru had the most beautiful landscapes! In my opinion it is the most diverse and beautiful country in South America, its food is very good and it is recognized worldwide.

In my opinion Peru is the closest thing to Asia in the entire American continent, if you don't have to go to the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, go to PERU!!!! it is a huge country, with a lot of culinary, cultural and geographical wealth.

I love your videos. Me and my kids (5 and 7) watch all th episodes. I love that you include the culture and explanations to things. They also love seeing you eat weird foods. I’ve been following you for a few years and I kept wondering when is sonny coming to Peru. As a Peruvian living in the states I’m so happy you are finally in peru. I have traveled over 40 countries and Peruvian food is the most delicious and most diverse.
I hope the editors will see this - That cut at 10:34 to show the scale of the one vendor with a story to the rest of the street with all of the other vendors with their own stories was absolutely PERFECT.

@@Leo.VI. Been all over Latin America. They do and by far. You can maybe get a bad restaurant but that is the exception to the rule. The only ones with better food are The Argentinians and only when BBQ is concerned because of their high quality beef. Peru has even better Chinese food than China.

Sonny, absolutely love your show! Lima is certainly an interesting destination for its culture and cuisine. From what I saw in your video, it’s far too stimulating for me. I even avoid going to shopping malls at all costs. I’m no longer tolerant of crowds, noise and chaos. It must be an age thing (I’m 63). I must also applaud you for your sense of adventure and daring eating the strangest foods around the globe. I’m not a fan of off cuts, offal or any type of internal organ. I’ve tried many, but usually find the smell, taste and texture off putting. That’s just me. Looking forward to seeing more of your amazing content! 👊🇨🇦
It depends where you go in Lima. Sonny is just an adventurer and likes to immerse himself in the culture. He is not scared of mingling with the regular people and i think that earns him respect and is usually welcome.This is a popular market where people of poor and the middle class go and can usually afford the food and other things there. There are other places that are not chaotic and serve food that are not just focused in organs. There are great areas with nice affordable restaurants or expensive if you can spend more money and the view outside is much nicer and tranquil. As a peruvian, I would say give, Peru, a chance if you decide to visit. And plan your trip when you come here so you get the best views of my country.

My whole family loves this channel. Its one of the few channels where me, my wife, and our 11 year old son always get a kick out of everything. I also think it's pretty awesome that you've kept a good Cuban friend around for so long. I had 2 awesome friends that helped me learn a lot about South American and Cuban culture when I moved to Houston. One dude was from Paraguay so he loved WRC racing and was a huge foodie. He showed me what/how a lot of the South American food culture works. The other guy was a Cuban immigrant who had just moved to the States and didn't speak English. He taught me a lot of the Spanish I know and I taught him a lot of English. He was also really into the old classic American cars and motorcycles so we got along incredibly well. This guy reminds me of both of those dudes.

Sunny, I saw your other video on your 2nd channel about Peru, food. The reason the Octopus tasted bad because it was not washed off. The Octopus has a coating of Slim when it's out of the water so it does not lose any water. The Slim is a protection device for the Octopus. You need to rub it down with medium coarse salt, the rough texture of the salt helps to remove that slim.

As a single 50vyear old woman I traveled through Peru for 3 months solo. Public transit, only street food and always aware of my surroundings. I had no issues and ventured off the traditional tourist streets into the areas where locals hung out. Anywhere you travel, awareness and common sense is critical. Peru, Morocco, the USA it's all applicable. So glad to see you in South America at last!!!

Maybe this is all from growing up in New York and DC, but the reality of street crime has always been present. I am amazed that with the amount that Sonny travels, this is the first time he has encountered a snatch and run - the guy must have guardian angels or something. I haven't been to Lima, but the same dangers exist in most places I've traveled through, probably more so in cities and nations with a higher poverty level, but also in NYC, San Francisco, and the red light and tourist districts of major European cities. You can safely assume that pickpockets and snatchers all over the world are working the streets 24/7 - and you are their potential livelihood 🙂! Never sit down at an outdoor cafe or restaurant table anywhere without either keeping your carryall between your feet or securing it to the table/chair. Split up your cash/cards and IDs - keep some cash and cards and your passport in a safe place, walk around with one or two cards max, minimum cash and a copy of your ID/passport. Maybe even use a cheap pre-paid travel phone rather than your tricked out $1400 Apple or Samsung product. Never leave valuables in the car. Keep your head on a swivel - don't have to be all mall ninja about it, just stay aware of your surroundings. Thieves are looking for distracted people, not someone whose eyes are on the move. Change direction abruptly and check your blind spots while walking in crowded places. !!!DO NOT GET LOST ON YOUR PHONE!!! If you need to read or write or look something up, try and keep your back covered and keep one eye on the surroundings. Walking through big cities and crowds, keep your hands free and the day pack on your chest. Don't keep stuff in your back pocket. Thieves are looking for an easy hit, not a challenge. The more difficult a target you present, the less likely that you'll be targeted. If you are, feel free to make a lot of noise and create a ruckus, but even if you're a big tough guy who can bench press 450 lbs., DO NOT try and be a hero! These people rarely work alone. Getting stabbed or cut by someone you didn't even see only takes a second or two and will srsly f-up your day 😕 - not worth it.
