SURE WONDOM BCPB3 FAIL!!!

  • Appears to be a defect with these new BCPB3 5S battery boards. They will only turn and remain ON with the DC input (24VDC) plugged in. Once the DC plug is removed, the board fails to stay on during startup most likely due to either under voltage or over current protection. This was not the case with previous versions.

    Thanks for the info!

I had the same issue, even with a replacement. I found out that if i add a delay to receive power to some components it will work. Also if you plug in the charger and turn it on and then remove the charger it will stay on.
You can try only connecting the amp directly. For me that worked all the time. But when i tried to connect more components it would do the same as in the video

I've switched over to the Dayton Audio products over the Wondom. Very happy!

SURE WONDOM actually manufactures the all the battery boards for Dayton Audio. Only difference is the printed circuit boards are black for WONDOM and red for Dayton Audio.

I was thinking of using bcpb6 but i dont know anything about these things. i was thinking of buying 6x samsung 4000mah li-ion batteries but i started thinking does the batteries need to be flat top or with the protection circuit and can i just plug the batteries out of the box into the bcpb6 or do i have to prep them like charging them induvidually or something. dont know if these are dumb questions but they dont really make dummy proof instructions in the datasheet and stuff :D im making my own boombox type thing, got hold of genelec 6.5" mid bass and was going to use two amt mini-8 tweeters from dayton audio

I have seen recent videos of the wondom Jab5 being programmed with icp5 with real time audio so you can hear the affects of the changes live as you tweak them. I really like that feature. I have contacted parts express and they said this was not possible with the Dayton kab4100. Do you have any insight on this?

I have been using the jab2/3 combo, jab4, and jab5 for my latest DIY boomboxes and tweaking them in real time and using a real time analyzer to see the frequency response curve. One of my videos describes how to do this. I create a 6pin audio video jack to interface the jab units with either icp1, icp3, or icp5. Despite what parts express says, it can be done. SURE wondom creates these boards for parts express and all the current jab boards work with all icps.

Hi, did you manage to figer out the reason and the overcome of this issue?

Older versions don’t trip the initial over current rush. Also the JAB boards like to be in standby which will allow constant power and standby mode draws very little current almost negligible. But most use NC normally closed switch. See JAB data sheet.
