    The most detail I have seen on the point chisel's form and use. And no one else has shown bruising inside the stone. Thank you for this, looking forward to Chapter 2.

    Athar you are not just an artist but a teacher. Ive said this before on some of your other videos but your descriptions and step by step lessons are so great. I look forward to watching and learning much more over this new path in my life.
    You inspire me on each and every video ive watched. Its as if you are in my room speaking directly to me.
    I have no doubt that the way you teach is because of you love and desire to see that this ancient art form is not lost to laser cutting and AI artist who duplicate the works of great artiest like your self and Michelangelo in minutes and produce hundreds of these sculptures daily. But they will never have the love and passion that is seen in great works in history.
    I apologize for my ramblings I feel that AI and technology is going to destroy us. By simply desensitizing our desire to create and think for ourselves. But that will just be a first step for them.

      Thanks for the kind words Patrick. I do not necessarily think that AI and CNC cutters are so bad. If used with the right consciousness and in combination with a solid knowledge of tradition, they could aid us in creating beautiful things.

    Thank you for commenting on mushrooming chisel heads! I still get leg cramps from a piece mushroomed steel flying into my inner thigh forty years ago. It had to be surgically removed and still hurts.

    Have you done a video about carbide point chisels yet? I can’t find one.

    • @AtharJaber
      @AtharJaber  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have done a video explaining what carbide is but not one yet specifically about carbide chisels as their sharpening is relatively similar to sharpening the normal steel ones. Only carbide must not be cooled down in water during the sharpening process. I briefly talked about that in the video where I explain how to sharpen the point chisel.

    why not harden both sides

      @AtharJaber  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      One side needs to be soft to absorb the impact of the hammer. Otherwise the chisel would break.

    Can the point chisel be used to engrave stones

    • @AtharJaber
      @AtharJaber  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for asking. But there are many variables here that need to be specified. It depends on what kind of stone, how big is the point chisel and what kind of engraving you are talking about. Unfortunately I cannot give a clear answer without knowing those details.
