We planted in grow bags about mid May, but had to wait till end of June to put slips in ground. We had quite a cold start to our growing season. But a test dig a few mornings ago showed some decent potaties, so I'm hopeful for a good harvest!

It could be much worse compared to me. I'm dealing with my next-door neighbor's dog because it is digging up my sweet potatoes in my fenced-in yard. However, I am tired of filling in all of those holes and replanting my vegetables that the dog torn up. I am hoping to get 10 pounds of sweet potatoes if lucky. Yes, I changed my planting locations several times. This is getting really old. This dog done dug up my edger for my yard and drag it into his yard. No, this is not a puppy but a grown dog. I can't seriously take it anymore. Yes, I tried talking to the neighbors about their dog, but nothing seemed to work. I guess animal control is my last stop. This year has been my worst for my garden. I don't think that the dog was ever trained. 😕 Sad but true

@@jacquelinedarby1076 sorry to hear that but I do have a suggestion that really works I know this because I'm doing it for my next door neighbors husky , get on Amazon and check out Patriot electric fence energizer or go to Patriotglobal.com this is a electric fence energizer made to keep deer and dogs and cats out of your garden you get the control box that plugs into a outside outlet then you run the wires around the area or along the inside of your fence and then when he touches the wire it gives a shock that he will not like and this will stop him from digging along the bottom of your fence you can also watch the TH-cam video's of this energizer working on deer and other animals and it's very reasonably priced . We got the electric fence energizer and the aluminum wire and the plastic insulators for around $ 50 dollars And It Works check it out friend watch the video's and my neighbors big husky won't go near our bushes any longer lol 👍

Update on my neighbors dog: Animal control came and got the dog because it brutally killed her mate. This is a sad situation 😞. Anyway, does anyone know why sweet potatoes leave turns yellow? Last week, I had 2 pots of sweet potatoes that were dark green, and now I only have 1pot that is continuing on with the dark green color; however, the other pot started turning yellow. I planted them in May of 2024, and I normally take them out of the pots in November. This is the first time that I have ever seen this. Should I wait a while before taking the sweet potatoes with the yellow leaves out of the pot, or could this a mineral issue or rodents concerns?
