Strong bid for my favorite song of all time...the type you can listen to on repeat for at least an hour and still have an itch to hear again as it comes to its conclusion. Great version...thanks for posting.
There are many great songs and lots of them are punk songs and this is one of the VERY best, absolutely love this. Would've had it as my first dance if I could've!
Love this. Chairs Missing is an album always on my turntable. If you don't know this band, you should. One of the best and most inventive bands of that era.
i little gem.... outstanding..... cant u see blur ripping rippin this style off.... big time... punk with a meaning utter class... have the peel session on c60 tape.
Very much agree, can definitely hear that too; from the jaggedy punky rythym and guitar sound which they use on Girls and Boys and other tracks, even down to the accent! Of course Blur do their own thing too, and are a great band in their own right. Nothing wrong in being influenced by / lifting some ideas from bands like Wire. Even The Kills use that guitar sound which you can hear right at the end of this song on the last note. Must mean that this band are influential.
Hadn't heard this Peel session version before. Prefer the excellent Chairs Missing album track though. Legendary track. This was one of THE songs we always used to dance to, waay back in the day!
Wire were one of the most original bands from that era ...
