My Grandfather told me about a tractor like this. It would run forever, but if you had a load and hit a steep hill at full throttle and the load was too much, instead of dying, the engine would suddenly reverse its direction and send you the opposite way at full throttle. 💙 T.E.N.
This is actually a fallacy. Most of the stuff from back then broke decades ago and it only seems like the stuff that's lasted is representative of the overall quality.
@@jimketchum3169 no. He's describing an actual phenomena. That's why from medieval times only the best suits of armor survived Because people bothered preserving them. Same with literally every other object, machine or not.

Originally these would have been a gasoline/kerosene pressurized blow torch especially made for starting these tractors. The blow torch nozzle instead of oriented horizontal (for soldering etc) is in a vertical position so flame gets into the " hot pot". Interesting using a modern propane tank set-up!
Not real diesel, since it won't start without the glow nose being thoroughly heated. The compression ratio of the 2-stroke engine is too low for compression ignition.
Did the Lanz have the same facility as the Fieldmarshall where you could start it with a 12 bore blank cartridge? Dad had one, i used to love watching him start that old Marshall up with the cartridge👍🏻👍🏻

Awesome!! will probably run for another 100 yrs 👍😁🇦🇺
So great to see young people keeping old machines alive!

They made things to*stay working back then, people were proud of their work.
and overall they were proud the work was made by men and not by computers and robots

You will never lose the crank wheel, scene its the steering wheel
Riduzione dei costi ed ottimizzazione delle risorse: un concetto moderno!Quanto pratico!
We were so clever with designs back then and everything was meant to last.
One of the best tractors ever made
Clearly you have never spent a hot day on a tractor ,all day with strong arm steering in the dust pulling a plough

The steering wheel doubles as the crank? That’s dope 💯💯🔥🔥
Never seen a tractor like that! And I think that is an awesome video. Thanks for sharing.
Strong boy, likely can drive that tractor like it has power steering. Beauty tractor.
An amazing procedure! What a sound!
трактор после апокалипсиса :)
Главное чтобы при запуске на маховик не намотало

Fieldmarshall tractors started with the cartridge👍🏻👍🏻
Представьте что автомобиль бы так заводился😂😂😂 завёл потом назад руль поставил 🤣💯👍
German engineering at it's finest.
Just a small correction for you. The Kelly and Lewis Bulldog was built in Australia. It is though a close copy of the Lanz, which is German.

Going the hard way but thankfully that’s also part of an everlasting culture

Is this diesel?
As a rule, yes, but they say that these bulldogs are able to work on anything that burns. Even on crude oil

It only ever runs on “real diesel” I don’t put anything else through it
