One of the reasons they got so big in the 80s and 90s was that they were some of the first ones to use barcodes to keep track of their inventory. That way, they could see what was more in demand at the end of each day, and so order even more of it. This actually changed much of the American retail economy to a 'Pull' rather than 'Push' system, where retailers order products based on real-time consumer demand, rather than producer's production schedules. They also have so much sway here in the US, that they can actually force companies to sell them their inventory for really low prices, or they will drop them as suppliers. This has actually caused much of the US's production loss to China, so that companies can compete to sell retailers the lowest prices possible just for exposure to consumers. Tl;Dr they're really big
So as you can guess, I'm finally back from Europe. The first thing I did was fix and re-upload the "How BIG is Walmart" video. So just how big are they? Watch and Enjoy ;) th-cam.com/video/Timt1H6eYw4/w-d-xo.html
We have a 2 NEW WalMarts open in the past 10 years with in 10 miles of each other. 1 is a Super WalMart and the other has the Automotive Service. It's Amazing. One of the Amazing things WalMart doesn't do is choose models to work at their stores. They hire all walks of life and give everyone a chance. They do not discriminate what so ever You'd never see these people working at Macy's, JC Penny's, SEAR's, ETC. If you been with the company a long time you can make really good money and earn a good living. I know WalMart workers making over $20 an hour PLUS BENEFITS USD just working in the stock room.
I've never seen one in Australia either, and here the language barrier isn't even that big for them, American is very close to English (some people even think they're the same). Only major problem would be labeling everything in metric (which is compulsory)
Its great seeing you grow like this man. I know this video will go viral like your google one. You deserve way more subs for the quality of our videos, I wish you the best
The Common Commentator of TH-cam Thanks mate, I'm really excited about the what the potential of this channel could be. I always have so many concepts and ideas floating around in my head in store for the future. Thanks for the comment!
It is true that you deserve more subs but it is hard to fight mainstream entertainment, so don't be discouraged. You're doing a great job and because it is done with the heart, nothing has to change. You are doing good and you are doing something that isn't really a trend, informing people. With love and perseverance this will become big, and I am sincerely excited about it! Thank you for your art
Hey dagogo, a long time ago you made a vid of the top ten most futuristic technologies, I would really really really enjoy a part two or a video similar to that, I love the future and what kinds of technologies it holds. Another suggestion would be your predictions of how we will live in the 2020s, 2030s, 2040s or even 2050s. I love your videos and the amount of effort you put into them, keep doing what your doing man.
A million subscribers soon ! I have been the subscriber of this channel for some time now . I have seen all the videos and love them like anything . "The best infotainment channel on TH-cam". keep going mate..... keep amazing us with the superb videos !
Fantastic video! Awesome to see your channel grow like it has, I remember the first time I saw one of your videos from Reddit I was thinking "how is this guy not more popular?" Your production quality and level of research is hard to top and excellent :) For someone who loves learning like myself, I would highly recommend your channel to others and am surprised you do not have more subs. I would be interested in seeing more non-tech videos like this covering major companies, maybe one about a company like Exxon or Nike could be in the future? Keep up the amazing videos :)
Diego Ace yep, time is money. and money saves time, why they waste their money to save ur time, while u can save ur time by using your money instead of their money to save ur time. P.S. If you ask how, simply, pay someone to go shopping/stay in line for you
Untitled Name . The Wal-Mart where I live in the Northeast has the self checkout registers where you just go to them scan your purchases, bag them, and pay for them with your credit card or debit, than be on your way. I find them phenomenal! 👍
A "How Big is Monsanto?" with your voice full of admiration would be epic "Today, they are destroying the planet, the market and farmer's lives. This is absolutly amazing!"
Nitram Don't forget the suing of farmers for infringing on the "patents" of their seeds. Hey, I'm a positive guy but I think you have me wrong - I admire Sam Walton's original drive and ambition but not the Walmart of today. Monsanto on the other hand.. I have nothing positive to say about them period. Cheers for the comment!
ColdfusTion Seeing this comment gave me 100% respect for you!!! I already liked your content, but now I love you as a person too! Keep being awesome man!
+ColdFusion Dang, seriously nothing positive to say about Monsanto? I get that their litigation of farmers that infringe their patents may seem extreme, but they did engineer a blight resistant papaya that arguably saved the fruit, donated food and water to drought scourged Kenya in 2011 as well as helping engineer and distribute a drought resistant cassava to the region, and hold patents on a vitamin A infused "golden rice" to combat preventable blindness in developing countries. The company is at least a mixed bag. A video on Norman Borlaug or biotech in general would be interesting, but I understand if you don't want to open up that can of worms due to popular opinion of biotech. Anyway, I'm really enjoying your videos so far, cheers
Ben Melling you should see Mexico they have Bodega Aurrera and Superama owned by Walmart and there own stores I think they have 2,000 stores down there
Walmart Inc. WMT 1.26% paid its median worker $19,177 last year, while Chief Executive Doug McMillon earned $22.8 million, according to a securities filing Friday.Apr 2, 2018

Hi mate, I just made my own huge profit by trading with Lauren Simmons. Truly she's a God sent. And Now I'm debt free 💃💃 .. I doubted it too before I gave it a try
Great channel. It's not the fact that any of the information your videos share is hard to obtain. Rather, how you convey the info makes your videos really exciting. It's great to see you expand out of tech related videos. I think you could pick other topics that are non-tech in order to expand your subs/viewership/demo as well. I'd love to have you make some videos for my business when the time comes. Best of luck with the channel.
Jack Ma's struggles are very motivated and emotionally empowering To imagine that one man could be rejected and ignored so much time. Yet overcome it all despite the odds. Never give up!!

In the UK, we have a shop called ASDA which is run by Walmart so that could be another reason for how big it is.
Ben Melling you should see Mexico they have Bodega Aurrera and Superama owned by Walmart and there own stores I think they have 2,000 stores down there

I despise Walmart. Not so much the people, but the way it operates.
it's a good market with great prices.
With poor workers and often bad quality as well as damage to the planet.
(Wikipedia)

Damn mate! Love your videos! Keep up the great work you're doing! It would be nice to do how big is AlmightyBeard hehe
Imagine how big they can be if they can replicate their success internationally.

One more thing, you also forgot the UK version of walmart called ASDA which both companies are business joined.
ColdfusTion Your content is on another level. Thank You for all the info. We've been following Your channel for a while now - Apologies for not hitting that RED Button earlier. You're too good. Stay TOP! And we're looking forward to a lot more from You. Your level of research is incredible.

thumb up guys really good job. very informative video
Jeez Dagogo these videos are so well made. Did you go to school to learn video publishing or are you just naturally good at it? Or both?
They own Asda, they just brought Sainsbury’s and Argos in the UK
Wal-Mart is huge! It even owns other international retailers like ASDA in the UK. While ASDA stores aren't as big as Wal-Mart supercenters, most supermarkets aren't. The average typical Walmart supercenter is a whopping 182,000 square feet! To put that into perspective, that's bigger than the largest ASDA which has 120,000 sq ft of floor space. If a typical 182,000 sq ft Walmart were in a large city where land is not plentiful, it would require a floor plan of 30,000 sq ft per floor to have adequate room and would be 6 stories tall.
The top 5 largest retailers in the world:
1.Wal-Mart Stores Inc (United States)
2. Costco Wholesale corp (United States)
3. The Kroger company (United States)
4. Schwarz Unternehmenstreuhand KG (Germany)
5. Tesco PLC (United Kingdom)
+Scootaloo because nobody knows how large 260,000 sq ft is... another way to imagine that is to think about the size of 4 soccer fields.
life42theuniverse True.
Is it bad that I like Walmart not being in England? It's only because I can shop at somewhere different each day if I want to... lol
More Films i think their brand name in the uk is Sainsbury or some shit
Walmart: **Exists**
Amazon: I'm About To End This Company's Whole Future.
I would love to see a "how big is wesfarmers" or "how big is bin laden group" video, as they are both quite interesting in size and assets.
