Some things to clarify: - the backstories of Weiss, Halua, Nier and some of Kaine's in the video are from Grimoire NieR, a book of concept art, guides, interviews and (most importantly for the video) short stories related to the game. - details surrounding Tyrann and the Shadowlord's pasts are from the NieR Replicant Drama CD which covers events surrounding Project Gestalt, Legion invasion, Emil fighting aliens and more. - the images used for human Weiss & Rubrum, Emil's teacher, the seafront man and Tyrann aren't real art of them but are placeholders for visual purposes (though Tyrann's image was made unofficially by NieR's original character designer D.K, of what they imagine he looks like). - the character quotes for Grimoire Weiss, Rubrum and Emil are from director Yoko Taro's other game known as SINoALICE which had a collab with NieR Replicant. Weiss also has another beautiful weapon story for ver.122... that I didn't use but will link below (IT'S SO SWEET) sinoalice.fandom.com/wiki/Grimoire_Weiss_ver.1.224 The part that hits me most is "I wonder if he, too had felt any relief from his sins." when talking about Emil. I talk a bit about their parallels of embracing who and what they were but I never realized how they connected to each other in their guilt. And for Weiss to ponder something so heartfelt is really meaningful to me especially given how he is in the game and how rare they interact.
Ironically, it's its lack of classical beauty that makes it uniquely beautiful. This series, while hopeless, gives me immense love and passion for our race.
i just want to say i have loved replicant ever since I played it and consumed everything connecting to it..this video was so good and gave me additional perspectives I didn't pick up even years later. thank you for making this
Thank you so much for the kind words!! Replicant is also really special to me and I hope I did it even half the justice it deserves. It's comments like these that make it all worth it :)
Wonderful video, i love this series so much. No matter how many times i hear, watch, or play through these stories i tear up everytime. Yoko Taro's so great at making me feel hope for what feels like our hopeless world. Louise's story is my personal favorite, it's just so tragic and beautiful. I love how it mirrors káine. I also love ending E. And how Reincarnation shows the other perspective.
Holy shit, out of all the tracks I used, GX was easily the last one I thought anyone would recognize! I'm actually so stoked right now hahaha. Appreciate the compliments too of course :)
I would recommend Nier Replicant → Automata → watching Reincarnation on youtube (since it's not playable anymore). This link is if you want to consume everything, but I recommend against it if you don't KNOW you'll love the series. Try Replicant first then see if you want to delve deeper into the series. x.com/ThreeEyedGemini/status/1726379468212638061

Watched a lot of lore videos about Nier Replicant over the years, but absolutely loved this approach. Great work!
Thank you so much! That means a lot :)

Thank you!! And that was wonderfully put, crazy to think Louise's story wasn't in the original release since it fits so beautifully in the narrative.
KH and Yu-Gi-Oh! GX music in a Nier video is not what I was expecting. Really good video tho!
