He was a prolific jazz pianist, and he had a beautfiul, charming voice. Two great gifts, combined in one talented person. Such a pity his life was so short. :-(
I wish society still produced people who would want or appreciate songs like this. The quality of art declines as society declines and vice versa. That should tell you where the USA is right now and where it is heading. If the globalists have their way there won't be a "first world" anymore. Only third world and subsistence standard living in small apartments watching digital screens. That's already well on its way.
@@kennytesta9312 the jazz standard formula is a thing of the past and because it’s so outdated anyone that tries to do it now gets labeled as such. What i meant by my comment was wishing that this kind of jazz could become mainstream again so that it might be explored without limits and pushed further than it got to. 9 year old comment lol
Wow..Melting.. There will never be another Nat King Cole. That's for sure. Sad..,but sadder that the world of music nowadays became so less true musical and lost of all its beauty. Might still be some good ones, but will be very rare...
What a treasure he was/is in the Music World. Style, expression, was uniquely his. YOU felt the words, the sensitivity, the compassion of the music he sang. I love this piece of music and have heard "others" sing it...but Not like Mr. Cole. ! ♥
I love it. This song is so sweet but it makes me so sad. I could just sit out on the beach listening to this any many more classics like this, just lose myself in the night & the rhythm of the jazzy blues...
The man I was in love with all my life. Told me, There Will Never Be Another You". The last time I saw him. 1 month ago, I stood at his grave & cry. Never waste time. It's the 1 thing in this world, you CAN'T BUY.
this is a song i dedicate to someone I didn't get that chance to dance with like this but just the same. she hit me hard unlike anyone I will anyone know for sure. This is for you Audra.
Such a great singer, his tone and inflection on the words of a song are memorable. A heavy smoker, Nat King Cole got lung cancer, had one lung removed due to a malignant tumor in it, and underwent cobalt treatment but it was too late. He died at age 45. But he certainly left us many recordings to remember him by, and we will always remember him. He left his mark on music forever. Sadly, his daughter Natalie, also had lung problems secondary to drugs and alcohol, causing hepatitis and other health issues, and passed away at age 65. She had some of his talent for sure, and the most memorable number she did was "Unforgettable" in duet with her father on a big screen in the background -- a remarkable presentation with father and daughter -- unforgettable!
Probably the best rendition, ever. Thanks for this great post. Was reading song introduced by John Payne in the '42 movie Iceland, also starring Sonja Henie. Nat Cole's TV run was about a year 1956-57. Had difficulty in getting sponsors. NBC paid for and ran it anyway.
Unfortunately they all died prematurely from smoking related illnesses. It’s seldom recognized but the death toll wrought from smoking amounted to a 20th century health crisis of astounding magnitude.

@@Solace6428 well maybe if you like superficial music that has no artistic statement. That's not to say you can't enjoy modern pop, do so as much as you want, but there is much less substance and depth to it, which is why those songs die out so quickly. It hardly has to do with taste though, modern pop has almost indoctrinating paterns to it.
A lot of great songs like this were written in the 1930s and 1940s, but didn't really become great until Nat covered them. Another one was "The Very Thought Of You".
A lot of songs like this I've learned through django Reinhardt and fapy lafertin(doubt I spelled fapy last name right) Fapy has a song called what a difference a day makes that's perfect but the old word version is amazing too. Django does one called just a little love a little kiss that's perfect but there is an old like opera singer guy that does it and that will sit you back in your seat
@ozcar30000 ahh I worded that wrong haha xD I was thanking you for posting this version of him singing it. I like being able to see him sing the songs than just hearing the music with a picture in the background. Thanks again though!
I think his show ran for about a year 56-57 on NBC. They couldn't get sponsors, but NBC carried it, anyway. I believe Nat Cole left anyway because of the sponsor debacle.
there will never be another Nat, that's for sure
Check out my Nat King Cole page named after this song: Nat King Cole ~ There Will Never Be Another You. It's classy.
For sure!
Nobody wrote 40s love songs like Harry Warren. Marvellous melody...
and Mack Gordon's lyrics. You never know how closely together they worked.
You know Nat's performance is really charming and makes the song better.
Beautiful comping from Oscar Moore, just wow.

There will never be another Nat:) Wow, love it...
There will never be another artist like the late, great, Mr. Nat King Cole...Rest in peace.
5 pack a day Kool cigarettes done him in, at 45
My dad found out, and
Stopped smoking kools
He hit the cigars, no inhaling
Until he quit
