    Just something I noticed is that you plugged the mixer ouput into the input of the top main and then fed it to the sub. You want to make sure you plug from the mixer ->Sub -> tops.... this will ensure your signal hits the subs first and utilizes the built in crossover...

      As soon as I saw that in the video I ran to the comments to say exactly this. 👏👏👏

      Hi, thanks for your comment.
      At first, I did connect the cables as you said (mixer > sub > top) but the red limiter light would flash quickly on the subwoofer when I played music that had bass.
      Then I refer back to the manual book of JBL EON700 series and JBL IRX100 series and I found that JBL strongly recommends cable connection from mixer > tops > sub. Until now I still follow the connection method as in the manual and I have never experienced the limiter red light problem on the subwoofer.
      Anyway, thanks for your advice and guidance. I really appreciate it.

      @@jblsoundbiz interesting, I'll give that method a shot. I've never gotten the limiter light, but I only use the system as a PA for bands, not as a dj. This does make me wonder though if the tops just take the full force of the low end and the subs just throw away the high frequencies. Usually the crossover would send the highs to the mains. Hmmm

      @@RichardFreeman yes, this is interesting to me also, what he said above. I have been playing music full-time for a living, 185+ shows a year for 28 years as a multi instrumentalist Looping Artist, and I have always plugged my mixer into the subwoofers, and then you go to the mains.
      I never have heard of coming from the mixer into the mains and then into the subwoofer, and I did not know that JBL recommends this.

    Great video thanks. Im running a set of 515XTs that I bought back in 2012. They are immaculate, sound great but are aging. Would they in your opinion be far superior to these ? I’ve been toying with the idea of of buying a pair since they came out?

      Hi, thanks for your comment.
      In my opinion, JBL IRX112BT is much better than JBL EON515XT. It has several advantages such as AFS, Music Ducking & Bluetooth. The sound is very nice & clear. You can give me your favorite song to play with this speaker. I will do a sound test with your favorite song in the next video.

    Thanks for this. I've been using the IRX12BT and struggling with distortion. I think the CH1&2 dials a bit too senitive. I tried CH1&2 IE have it at 12 o clock and then the master at 2 or 3. Seems okay but If i go any higher in the channel volume it begins to distort. Have you ever had the same issue? I'm also using the Yamaha desk and keeping every thing at unity or below.

      Hi, thanks for your comment.
      If you look at the CH1/CH2 volume input knob, it says LINE and MIC on the label. For LINE, the volume knob is from 6 o'clock to 12 o'clock only. More than 12 o'clock, it will sound distorted. This is because the volume knob after 12 o'clock is only for MIC input. I recommend using a BALANCED XLR cable from the MIXER output directly to the CH1/CH2 input of this speaker.
      I hope to answer your question and if you still have this distortion problem again, I suggest that you can recheck the cable connection on your MIXER as well as the input-output volume.

      @@jblsoundbiz thanks for the reply! I am using two balanced XLRs from the main outs of MG12 to just one speaker and inputting them into CH1&2 and keeping the levels at 12 o'clock. Perhaps I'll test using one out from the MG12 and keep the CH1 level at 12 O'Clock. The sound is great when playing music through the speaker but it's very sensitive if the master level on the MG12 goes even a little over 0DB (that's when using an SM58 on vocals. Anyway, will try it out Thanks.

      @@HubertMurrayMusic I Have a number of these speakers, some mixers do seem to be a bit hotter and ive found running the input gain around 10 oclock and just set the master to full is better for these mixers.

    According to what you show in the video, 2 speakers and a sub, for how many would it sound good for a party?

    • @jblsoundbiz
      @jblsoundbiz  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, thanks for your comment.
      With a PA setup like this, good sound can reach about 30 to 70 people at a party.

      @@jassoncajavilca4073 you’ll be just fine with this system for over 100-120 people… been doing this since forever with no problems. Raise the speakers for optimum throw and you’ll be crystal clear 👍🏽

      @jblsoundbiz  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jassoncajavilca4073 It's okay if you set up a PA like this in the room. It can still reach an audience of 120 people. But if you want a better bass sound, you can set up 2 x tops and 2 subs and set the subs in cardioid mode like in this video th-cam.com/video/h26IfFfUQMY/w-d-xo.html
