Im planning to pick up the whole wave, mostly just for fodder. Superman is a good way to get a hold of the Earth 2 buck w/ out spending $60-70 on the aftermarket. Flash is alright for a Wally West w/out a nightmare fuel head sculpt. And I’ve got an idea for making Mermaid Man from SpongeBob out of the Aquaman. Batman I’m getting cause I plan on taking all my older comic style Batman figures and putting them on Knightfall bucks and another one in my fodder box is always appreciated. Plus I like the darker colors on this BAF Darkseid and the face shading is great
@McFarlaneToys would do well to have you as one of their PREMIER TH-cam fellas. You have fun, insightful, HONEST and positive reviews. Not negative all the time, but not overtly positive like a shill. There is a delightful balance and clever word play with what you do.
I ended up picking up the Flash from this wave as fodder parts to replace the legs of my platinum Speed Force Flash which broke on me, and while I don't have a burning ire towards the pixel art aesthetic, its very much not what I'm after in my collection. But, for customizers and fans of the game, I won't act like it's not an incredibly useful wave.
I would love a chance to get that Wonder Woman (I missed it) with a better head. They could have used the pixel video game pics from the game for the cards.
I'm personally a fan of Justice Lords Superman head on the Crisis body. I did have to paint on eyes. My weird observation here is that if you're doing a pixel deco, the actual game had a symmetrical logo so he could be flipped to face left or right.
You see, this is a tough wave for me. On one hand, I really want to pick up the Flash (since it is Wally) and this Superman because this reminds me of the 90’s Comic art I’d see as a kid. And Batman because I am a fan of the character and have been since I first watched the animated series. Aquaman would just be a grab to get the last build a figure piece as I prefer the hook handed look. I Never played Justice League task force but from the looks of the game it looks like it would have been fun for the 6 to 7 year old me. That being said I may just try get Wally and maybe this Superman. I have a feeling they may do a rerelease or new 90’s style Superman with the mullet and it will be with a wired cape. That crises Earth 2 body seems fitting though.
Tbh I’d hope for Mcfarlane toys to make a Decent Infamous BAF line perhaps 3 wave lines with some BAF’s depending on different characters. Wave 1 would be the neon having Cole with the regular one having blue and white electricity, gigawatt blades and a Polarity wall, while an alternate version for a Target exclusive will have the red and black electricity, the pale skin with black tendrils covering his body, and blades but will have some electric grenades and the megawatt hammer As for the BAF itself it could be building Sasha with the other three or four figures being a reaper, a explosive reaper, a rocket launcher reaper, and a Conduit reaper Infamous BAF 2 will be the Warren edition with Zeke having his original getup, a 6 shooter and some bottles, the BAF will be Aldin, the figures would be the Armored Conduit, two regular dust men with different designs and those trash dogs in a pack of 3. The third BAF series will be the Historic edition this will have the Kessler and the 4 major figures will be Trish, Cloaking Conduit, two different versions of the first sons enemies one having the casual gas mask look, and the other having the cyclops look Now keep in mind most of the enemies will have guns either it be a AK for the reapers, rocket launchers, mini guns, shotguns, etc. Also to top it off they should have two Mega Figures one being the Golem conduit with a opening that shows the conduit inside and the second being the Aura Conduit I know they’ll probably not do something with this extent but I’d feel like they’d make money if they do something like this because the Talon figures were a too favorite of mine because they make you buy more talons to create and army and having the Reapers, Warren, and First Sons having that same Army incentive would be amazing but at the same time we could have Sasha, Aldin and Kessler as separate figures so that way people won’t have excessive amounts of action figure parts
So when these were first announced I tore them to shreds for those paint jobs. I ended up buying Superman when I saw how easy removing the ugly paint was to make my new favourite Superman figure. Now I'm getting the rest of the wave for that Darkseid. He's gonna look amazing.
I too recently made the Crisis On Infinite Earths Earth 2 Superman body my Action Comics #1 Superman head's new home, and it's since become my favorite Superman figure! On the topic of this figure, I'm tempted by all the customs I've seen of it to try to make something myself, but I think I'd rather just wait for them to make another supes figure with the same body. Great video as always, I'm looking forward to the next couple you teased at the end!
I do kinda prefer this Build a Figure Darksied compared to the single release but I'm gonna be honest I still chose the single release cause it came with the trading card. At this point I wish McFarlane could find a way to make cards for BaF's casue if they're committing to the cards even now then that leaves pretty big holes in the collection. I look at all my Green Lantern Villain cards and not seeing Atrocitus still sort of urks me. Maybe they could release like a pack of trading cards at the end of the year of that years BAF's, just throwing it up as a McFarlane TS exlusive for those that want it.
The odd choice of doing a wave based on Justice League Task Force and the 16-bit deco aside, I do kinda like the head sculpt. It actually looks like an actual mullet and not the regular head with hair extensions. Might look decent on the black suit Supes.
great review as always, this wave isn't on my list and I agre the pixelated version are way to specific......I assumed they are from an old videogame because of the pixel stuff. I recently bought my first McFarlane Netflix Witcher figure ( the version with the cloak), I don't like the Netflix show but after the Next Gen update of the game I got interested in the armors for head swaps and photography
If you have a medium where I can send you images I would love to send you pics of the custom I made out of this guy. All the pieces are present here for an unparalleled Superman with a little tweaking.
This is a bit of a half arsed effort. If you didn’t tell me it was a video game paint app I’d think it’s poorly applied and Macfarlane QC is down to Super 7 levels
Depending on which AC 1000 you go with, either the original Rebirth version for the first release or Hush for the Atomic Skull two pack. I don't have a suggestion for the Walmart one yet
I have these set up fighting with a print out of the backgrounds from the Super Nintendo game. The jaw is terrible to be way too big on him is my biggest issue with him.
I'm annoyed that I'd have to remove the video game paint apps on Darkseid since I like the darker colors more. As for this Superman, I'd use it for customs along with that other version with that wojak meme smile you showed off.
What befuddles me the most is how that SNES/Genesis game is considered very mid. Nowhere near as beloved as the Capcom fighters with Marvel, so who was this wave for?
It's like these guys are allergic to making the perfect Superman. Either he's too short, too wide, too skinny, too bulging, too ugly, too creepy, too old, too pixelated, too pale... How does any company manage to make SO MANY SUPERMAN TOYS, and not a single one of them is "the one"? All they need to do is make THIS figure, exactly how it is, but without the pixelart and a normal looking neutral head. Aaaand maybe remove that bottom wire in the cape, it makes the corners look too soft. Is that so freakin difficult? I am convinced they're doing this on purpose so we keep buying them hahahahahah, not me though - I can wait as long as it takes those greedy baffoons.
The thing is people chasing that perfect Superman would buy still buy even if each one was "Perfect". First off you have the blue. Robin eggs Blue, Blue, dark blue, metallic blue, etc. No need to made a bad figure when you can just change the shade of blue. Same with all the different S shields. Then do a black suit Superman. Put him in all white..........the list goes on of making the "perfect" Superman and just making an inexpensive change. Or they can do this and that Barry Allen Flash with the spark boots that crumble.
My theory in why they didn’t advertise the wave as from the video game is that they didn’t want to deal with Nintendo coming after them. Task Force was an old Super Nintendo game, and anyone who knows ANYTHING about Nintendo as a corporation is that they don’t play nice with others.
Todd finally put a large amount of paint on his figures and he chose weird pixels
At least it's not glopped on the face this time lol
That Superman task force head sculpt..look like granny goodness with Jay Leno's big chin.😂😂😂😆🤣
Omg imagine if they reuse the face for granny goodness
@poob1082 It almost looks more like Rosie O'Donnell for granny goodness for the part..it still go for another likeness.😆🤣👍
THANK YOU! I couldn't figure out why I hated it so much but that SPOT ON!
Quite literally one of the ugliest Superman EVER.
@@garlicblue6797 I hope mcfarlane change it..but it's too late now...😆😅🤣😂

“What were they thinking” my thoughts exactly! I’d basically be buying that figure for the head. Wait? No nvm forget that.

Rigamarole done ✅
The head sculpt on this figure looks like Paul Stanley.
they were thinking there are somehow people out there who will still spend their hard earned money on this
I wonder if that second effect is for the feet, since Superman doesn't have any kicking attacks in that game from what I remember.
I love this shading. hope something like this will be a future standard
then not pins technology and Macs becomes the g.o.a.t.
Cannot wait for you to review the CHRISTOPHER REEVE Superman figure.
*Spoiler* It's fantastic. I only have two minor gripes personally.
I would love a chance to get that Wonder Woman (I missed it) with a better head. They could have used the pixel video game pics from the game for the cards.
I can't wait for your Christopher Reeve Superman figure review and compare him next to Hush, Three Jokers and First Appearance Batman figures pal.
I'm personally a fan of Justice Lords Superman head on the Crisis body. I did have to paint on eyes.

I wanted a classic Wally Flash figure for ages but now having this one all I want to do is turn him into the 90's TV Flash. 😂

I have Superman and Flash, so I may as well go all in right?
@@5POAFigureReviews Sure, at least they will all play well with each other and make a small display of their own.
I remember asking you about this! So glad your covering it.

Best head swapping out there ;)
the only onr im planning on picking up is the orange batman.purely cuz i think he looks neat
Love this body but omg the pixels look so weird and I get that Superman has a wide jaw but this is just silly looking

Its a good headsculpt for the game model.
I would suggest l acid tone off the shading and it’s a perfect mullet Superman.

Amazing video as always
He looks like Grumpy Cat with a mullet.
HA! Now I can't unsee it

5POA Figure Reviews on Instagram or Facebook would be fine
This is a bit of a half arsed effort. If you didn’t tell me it was a video game paint app I’d think it’s poorly applied and Macfarlane QC is down to Super 7 levels
Does anyone have any recommendations for double jointed Superman arms for Action Comics 1000?
Depending on which AC 1000 you go with, either the original Rebirth version for the first release or Hush for the Atomic Skull two pack. I don't have a suggestion for the Walmart one yet
@5POAFigureReviews Thank you! Looking those up
I have these set up fighting with a print out of the backgrounds from the Super Nintendo game. The jaw is terrible to be way too big on him is my biggest issue with him.
That's really cool! Where did you find the backgrounds?
I searched for the game backgrounds on TH-cam and took screenshots of them then printed them out and glued to cardboard.
I'm annoyed that I'd have to remove the video game paint apps on Darkseid since I like the darker colors more. As for this Superman, I'd use it for customs along with that other version with that wojak meme smile you showed off.
Why he look so pissed? Bad season on the Kent family farm Clark?
Are you going to review the batman from this wave? I'm debating if i should get him since imo he's the best one of the wave (not including Darkseid).
Still deciding if and how I am proceeding with this wave, so I don't know yet unfortunately.
What the heck is that hammer!? lol.

Until today I can’t decide which one is the worst and ugliest Superman figure of all time… damn they do make an effort to win
could nail polish clean away those "video game" efects?
They really should have whent all out on the pixelated design on the whole body, looks incomplete and lazy especially his bbl abs 😂
They look horrible... and people still buying them. I guess they really deserve products like this.
Yeah no, the majority of people who are gonna buy this figure are doing so to customize them into a regular Supes.
My theory in why they didn’t advertise the wave as from the video game is that they didn’t want to deal with Nintendo coming after them. Task Force was an old Super Nintendo game, and anyone who knows ANYTHING about Nintendo as a corporation is that they don’t play nice with others.
It was also on Genesis.
Day 161 of asking for bane the musical
Looks like an angry old lady. How can you guys keep buying this rubbish
If I didn't HATE the face I would absolutely get this. I have a tshirt that's the pixelated logo and love it. But that face... 🤢
Pardon but that looks like sh**
You're not wrong
Figure really looks like crap. Should have included a bottle of acetone to remove those crappy paint apps.
The worst concept ever for this 🤬 figures,
