Track Mode does not improve acceleration, it actually hurts it. TM engages the cooling fans to help keep the batteries from overheating when running it on a road course. You will achieve the best acceleration by just leaving in the regular sport mode, and having the batteries warmer. This is how I got 3.03 in my 0-60 run.

I hope you understand that track mode is not used or needed to launch your M3P, and you certainly do not need to hold the brake as this just delays your launch reaction time. The M3P is always ready to launch as long as it's in Sport mode. You don't need to press the bracke at all, just use regenerative braking function which should be used all the time. Now pull up to a light, your foot is over the accelerator as you don't need to use the brake, and just mash the accelerator pedal down.

Hands down, one of my favorite channels I didn't know existed. This guy's passion for keeping his actual personality unhinged also shows a human element that is hilarious. He stands out from all of those overly gimic-like car reviewers who are acting to present in a certain way. This guy is bringing hilarity, real human reactions and all the nuances and reactions that anyone would have without the camera recording. This is not easy I am sure - to keep it real. It helps me visualize and almost feel what it might be like through his painstaking attention to detail. Amazing.

I recently got my 2021 M3P in Black….the end of September it came in….ur gunna love it!!! I can’t believe how fast this car is……when you floor it, it’s a weird (FAST AS HELL) sensation ….to me it doesn’t feel anything like an ICE car, I’ve owned 5.0 Mustang’s, Infiniti g37s, Lexus IS 350, F-150, Accords, Mitsubishi Eclipse and others lol this has to be my favorite one yet!
There’s a couple things that are bothering me but overall the tech in this car is INSANE!!! and will just get better in time (Hopefully)
I am hoping since I went for the $10,000 FSD Package that I’ll get to experience the entire experience while I own the car, don’t think that’s Tesla’s fault tho…..that’s more state laws and regulations, right ?

Great video! I have a 2018 Performance and live in northern California. We have HOV lane stickers for PEVs. and this is very important for my commute to save time/money. My sticker expires at year's end so I ordered a replacement. I'm in the exotic car world and the Model 3P is the cat's meow! I cannot say enough good things about my 2018 Performance. Even the Tesla mobile tech, whom I've become friends because he's a motorhead (and likes touring my dealershipwhen he's in the neighbourhood - Canadian spelling for you Canucks - expat myself) says the new one is much improved. The upgrade is worth it. Now, if I could only make sense of a Plaid.

24:00 subtracting the one foot roll out is not really just a Tesla thing. It's the method most testers use. It's easier to subtract a 1 foot roll out that signifies that the car is moving now so the speed can be measured rather than trying to factor in a drivers reaction time or any other factor compromising the initial motion of the car. Tesla just chose to use a common testing method here

The interior lights are LED just "soft white" temp. Autopilot is also standard on all Model 3's now, from SR+ to performance. Tip for launching a Tesla model 3 Performance:
Track mode does nothing for your launch.. if at all it limits your acceleration because you can't engage hold on the brakes.
    For punch:
    Skip track mode
Just push the brake all the way down when standing still... a H should appear on the screen next to your speedometer..
Then floor it as fast as u can... this will provide most punch.
Holding brake + gas and lifting the brake will most likely result in a slow launch because Tesla limits the motors from accelerating while the brake is pressed... so it kinda eases in to the acceleration..

I had a 2019 Performance 3, it drove great and made a good daily but holy hell my unit had so many quality defects, it also lacked a soul, bit hard to explain. My old car was a celica, super slow but it was really fun flooring it all the time and hearing the yamaha tuned engine sing. Teslas are a dime a dozen in my area and i suppose them being also so common makes them less special.

@@JnTmarie never felt the need for noise reduction. But stick with OEM tyres (they have noise reduction, T0 code). Don't buy other tyres it makes all the difference! I tried and regretted. People buy cheap tyres and then complain about noise. I'm music producer so sensitive to noise but I think it's ok on T0 tyres. Also make sure the doors are properly aligned that makes a lot of difference too. 2021 models should be just fine I had two referals to friends and both are super happy too. Both are AWD. Mine is 02/2020 and I test drove 2019 on T0 tyres and couldn't tell a difference regarding noise.

PSA: The comment in the video about using the brakes is actually wrong. The "hold" feature on the vehicle (the default option) automatically uses the brakes whenever the vehicle is stopped. If driving correctly you do not ever need to use the brakes except in emergency situations and driving this way the brakes will actually last the lifetime of the vehicle.

    • @or123and

You do want to use brakes on purpose once in a while otherwise rust will kill your discs. Owner talking here.

Also in no way am I saying to never check your brakes or brake pads etc because those are an essential part of your car. You should regularly check them because of they were initially faulty, based on your driving habits they may wear out sooner. Two years is the default time to get them checked as per service manual.
So for everyone who is interested please do talk to a licensed professional as opposed to getting advice from random TH-cam channels or comments. Have a great one! :)

Both of you are right. Lifetime brakes holds up in dry climates. Any other climate will eat the discs. Steel rusts and these are steel rotors. So breaking to clear the rotors does help. Also the back brackets of the pads will rust on a Model 3.
This is a very well known issue with all EVs
