This is one of my favorite Cantonese songs. Faye Wong's voice is truly as beautiful as an angel, and every time I listen to it, it always reminds me of many of my own experiences

粵人主要是來自宋朝南下遷移的人，所以語言文化會較接近一些。順帶一提，潮汕及客家人都是中原遷移的人，但時間上則更早，所以廣東三大部族保留古代中國文化是比較多的。

初出道時其實仍有少數字咬字不清，讀音不正，但不要忘記她的母語是普通話，學習粵語比香港人廣東人難很多，可想而知她下過的苦功絕對不可而語。

Thank you for reviewing this song! Though I like the studio-recorded version better, it's definitely one of my favourite songs of Faye Wong. I thought the best part and trademark of this song is the extremely well written lyrics. Albert Leung (the lyricist) put in so much emphasis in the description of the scene, to the tiniest details like... how each of the little objects reminded her of the day they dated/met, from the door sign of the hotel, the streetlight, the city, really felt like watching a movie just by reading the lyrics; and how it progressed into the longevity of their relationship, very emotional and expressive. Such strong connection between the lovers.

Wong Faye is a sensational singer now retired. I am wondered westerners like this slow beat with rich emotion. To my impression, guys usually like strong and loud beat. I like these song as it is sung a story and singer projected the feeling and emotion to the participant tricking their echoes and past experiences in love affairs.

As someone born in Hong Kong and grew up listening both cantopop and English songs, I actually like both.... The latter generally have more sophisticated musical arrangement and the instruments better played, but many cantopops have great melodies. The lyrics of cantopops in 80s and 90s are particularly amazing if you understand Chinese

like english，different cantonese can sound quite different to a non speaker，take malaysian cantonese and guangdong cantonese，an average non speaker can quickly tell them apart，same goes for hong kong cantonese，which is usually described as relatively soft compared to other variants，I suggest more cantopop from 80s and 90s should be sampled

I speak both mandarin and cantonese, i sang more cantonese song then mandarin one in the karaoke, but for this song I would say the mandarin version is far more better. BTW, i love faye wong.

cantonese has a lot of /oe/ vowels which is lacking in Mandarin but is similar enough to a non-rhotic "-er" in English as in "her" without the "h". so thats how you do the vowel in joek ding

Many critics in China say that Chinese singers are not as good at singing as European and American singers, and their musicality is not as good as that of Western singers, but I do not agree with this purely technical comparison. I absolutely admit that there are many good things in European and American music, but Chinese songs have their own characteristics and unique beauty, which cannot be compared with European and American songs. Chinese people should be proud of their own culture.

Writing the lyrics in Cantonese is more challenging than in Mandarin due to the way it is pronounced. Her voice sounds even more heavenly in Mandarin.
