  • Months 30-31! We weren't planning to stay in Ipoh this long, but this is where we found ourselves when interstate travel in Malaysia was banned due to Covid. And what a great city to spend two months! We'll show you our activities, food adventures, housing, and cost of living in Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia!

      I'm Ipoh Mali. This is how someone from Ipoh would identify oneself. It basically translate to "I came from Ipoh". Welcome to my hometown 😁. Glad you spent 2 months in Ipoh although it's also unfortunately during MCO. Did you tried the addictive Cendol that Greg and Jumi can't get enough of? Haha

    Thanks for sharing this. Ipoh is my hometown but I live in Europe. I’ve been missing home as it isn’t easy to travel back due to Covid. So watching your videos gives me that chance to in a way visit my home country again. God bless you in your future travels.

    From Ipoh to other places but still in Perak, Taiping may come first up my mind, but still there’re Teluk Intan and many other cities to see. Wherever you go, be safe and enjoy the trip! 🤗🤗🤗

    1. Ipoh should be considered for anybody thinking of retiring in Malaysia. Prices are lower than KL. It's not busy. But it has nearly all the services and facilities of a major city.
    2. To the west lies Pangkor Island. To the east, Cameron Highlands. And there are frequent rail services to Penang and KL. You're not isolated.
    3. I would recommend the retiree settle into a gated community. Get a small car. And join some club.

    I was born n grown up in Ipoh until I was 19 years old, I lived across the road to Where u bought bean sprouts chicken. I hv eaten the foods that u mentioned throughout my childhood in Ipoh , but I haven’t been to several locations that u visited.
    I begin to miss Ipoh after watching your video. Seems like u people r more “ Ipoh “ than me!

    welcome to Ipoh. You might try kaya puff and chinese herbal salted baked chicken in old street area. In addition, you can hike the keldang hill which located at menglembu as well if you are love hiking.

      At minute 11:33, the highest peak of the mountain (centre, slightly left), that is the 2nd highest mountain in Peninsular Malaysia called Mount Korbu. It's 2,183m, 4 metres lower than the highest peak at Mount Tahan (2,187m)

    Being an ipoh-born nd bred lady, i hv not visited any of those tourist attractions u've been to. Tq for ur wonderful videos.
    If i were to guess, i think u would probably be going to Lumut nd Pangkor Island, next. There's d Kelly's Castle nd wonderful foods otw to Lumut, dried seafood stalls nd plenty of seafood restaurants and beautiful beaches in Lumut. A short boat ride will take u to Pangkor Island with more beautiful beaches nd sailing activities there.
    Hope u hv a great time there.

    Thank you for pronouncing it correctly. Some pronounce it as 'eye-poh', and was really stubborn about it. Happy to hear enjoy your stay in Ipoh. 😂I drove to Ipoh, once, just to buy the famous butter cupcake from the late Madam Nancy Chong, and drove back to KL, within the same day. Total of 5 hours drive 😅

    I have done several trips to KL and got some great pictures but every time I go, the air is real bad for landscape shots from the KL Tower or the Petronas Tower. I did enjoy the people, the food, and the city. From Chiang Mai.

    thank you for showing me all these places. I'm a Malaysian and the only thing I usually do when visiting Ipoh are having Dim sum at the Foh San restaurant and Ipoh Chicken Rice. Now I know there are many beautiful places that i can take my family to visits. Its hilarious as though im the visitor (foreigner) and you are the locals 😂

    A very well done video edition on Ipoh. 👍👍👍 I enjoy watching as much as your stay of two months. When in "Lost World of Tambun", did you miss out the natural hot springs body dip or was it closed due to Covid? This is the best part of it in Tambun to both residents and visitors alike. 😘💦👍

    My very first date with my now wife was to eat dim sum (which I had never had before). Luckily, she is of Chinese descent and knew exactly what to order. SUP is definitely a lot harder than it looks, takes good balance and lots of core strength. Those peacocks are such divas, don't want to take direction. LOL

    Welcome to Ipoh, a relatively slow pace city in Malaysia. Not much attractive tourism spots around Ipoh, but certainly the local food are great to try. Enjoy your next destination!

    You should visit Gua Tempurung close to Ipoh If you like to photograph HUGE caves.

    If Dim Sums are popular among all Chinese People, they might be even more among Cantonese people, who happen to form the biggest Chinese Community in Ipoh.
