Terimakasih Malaysia, you have been a dream! 🇲🇾 We were only supposed to stay in this country for a couple of weeks around new years, but we ended making it our home for 2 whole months. We were blown away from the sights, the food and of course all of the people we met along the way. I hope you enjoy the last episode of the series, but I’m sure we will be back one day. Next stop, Philippines 🇵🇭
yes i'm proud that i'm came from Ipoh and living in a beautiful and peace state, country. Surrounding with mountains and natural nice view , thank you for introducing IPOH to world. ❤️❤️
migrated to malaysia in 1982 and settled down in ipoh. the best city in the world. the hot spring used to be hotter and it was considered a remote place without any development. even the stone age drawing is fast vanishing. ipoh used to be dead iespecially after 6.00 pm 80's and 90's . there was no shopping malls or theme parks.
As a local Ipohans, this vlog giving me a bit teary to my eyes as we Malaysians have been in movement control order for about 3month. I've been missing my hometown, eventhough im still in Ipoh. Dunno when will we can be back like we used to before this pandemic arrived.. stay strong to both of u,thank u for making this Ipoh Journey vlog for us.. 👍👍👍
i was born in ipoh, this is the best reflection of ipoh about its places as well as laid back lifestyle.. ipoh is pretty much about food, caves, night market, food and sleeps. very authentic. im proud of u
I was born in tambun ipoh, i remember my childhood days we will walk to the hotspring river in front of a hindu temple to take a bath. Now its all sunway lagoon there. Miss the peaceful scenery in my hometown. 😔
Malaysia is one of my favorite countries in Southeast Asia. It attracts a much highly quality of foreigners than Thailand, Laos or Cambodia. I plan to film more for my channel there this year. Ipoh certainly nicer than Penang at least for now it is.
@@OneShotAdventures I guess you mean foreigners ? I would hate to see it turn into another Penang. I no longer visit there because of Georgetown. When places get over run with foreigners it looses its charm and starts to look like everywhere else. But another great video on your part.
@@destinationsroadslesstraveled Not so many western tourists in Ipoh, but more domestic and from other Asian countries. Penang is a huge island though and even Georgetown is very big. So if you avoid the obvious areas, it's ok imo.
Welcome to ipoh, hope you are enjoying the great environment and food here! Most youngsters here are friendly and english speakers, please do not hesitate to approach any one of us if u ever need help!
I'm from Australia and I lived in Ioph for 2 years 2015 2017 in Bercham it is an amazing city the people, food ,culture ,scenery and things to do and your only a couple of hrs by road to KL ,PENANG and the thai border I give IPOH 11/10 not even close to exaggerating
Hey I never knew you could climb up to the top of the mountain at Gua Kek Look Tong. My parents live like 5 minutes away from that place. Lots of memories growing up there.
i visited IPOH this recent CNY in January 2020, was intrigued with the beautiful surrounding especially Kek Lok Tong and Sam Poh Tong and also the Tambun Lagoon. The food is awesome too, like chicken rice, dim sum and tau foo fah, we like not so congested city and simple living and less stressful mode in ipoh
It may be 2 km as the crow flies from point A to point B in Ipoh, but to drive there turns into 10 km. Rotaries, no crosswalks, no parking is a problem. Some excellent Chinese restaurants and cafeterias. Kopitiem shops a great place to snack. Cave temples a must.😊
Throughly enjoyed the video, mate. Thank you for the effort you put into it. Very polished and worth recommending! I'm considering between Penang and Ipoh to stay for 2-3 months.
Concubine Lane is now a revitalized tourist spot. None of the businesses or shops there now existed ten years ago. But there was only one shop there that locals actually patronized because of it's delicious home cooked food. It's still there, but rarely featured in tourist vlogs.
Beautiful video with very chillaxing soundtrack. Rooftop bar at MU hotel is having an amazing view. Good to have some nice cocktail. and you haven't discover the lost temple in Sam Poh Tong (Chinese Temple Cave) with a view.
Glad that you looked at Ipoh with fresh eyes, just like visiting London the first time. By the way, Kellie’s Castle belongs to Batu Gajah , about 30 minutes drive from Ipoh. Keep posting!
Lots of surprising things to see in Ipoh. The street art is impressive and the caves look very cool. We went to Batu Caves in KL recently and I'd say these look better. Not sure about the knife massage?? But a good deal on breakfast 👍
Haven't been to Malaysia, but I find this very informative; will definitely consider Ipoh when I visit. A friend of mine gifted me Old Town Coffee sachet pack. I thought it was just a brand name but here I discovered it's an actual place 😅
Thank you for this entertaining and informative video! Beautifully edited, great shots, great info, at a good tempo, well spoken. Thanks for making these videos, you're awesome! ✨👍
I am planning to visit here next month actually, great tips here. Concubine lane, I wonder how that street got the name...It definitely is very similar to Penang. Kellies castle definitely looks a great attraction there and I can't wait to try the food again in Malaysia. Excellent video.
Concubine Lane was named after the bevy of mistresses the rich Hakka tin miners used to keep in the shops that lined the street. In the evenings, they could be seen standing at the balconies , calling out to the merchants down below haggling over the prices of their wares. If you get to Ipoh, the one place you mus visit is the Han Chin Pet Soo Museum, curated by Rtd. Cmdr Ian Anderson, who has been living here for decades. Its a museum recognised by the UNESCO and you'll be able to get the full history of Ipoh here. Unfortunately, right now, we're under lockdown due to covid 1
Thanks so much for featuring my hometown! I was there at the coffee shop when you shot the clip...although I didn’t know you were making this video. Congrats!
April likes the rainbow colored buildings! Kellie's Castle looks so awesome--we like the fact that it was never completed. Do you know how the white coffee tradition came to be? I've had an egg tart in Europe before, but I can't recall if I liked it. I don't think my "baby feet" could handle the reflexology path, hahaha. LOL at your expression over the knife massage! How is that even safe??! At first glace, it does seem to be an eclectic/cheesy place, but we can see how the hot springs park was fun!
Ok I really need to find the origin of the mini custard pies. I’ve had them in a few places but recently a coworker brought in some from a local Chinese shop. Anyway the Blue Lagoon has nothing on these hot springs! I love it. I didn’t even go to the blue lagoon in Iceland as I wasn’t impressed. I’m impressed by these springs.
Another great one, apart from that Utd shirt but that castle looks amazing and made up for it , hope everything is well with all the virus going on mate
As my hometown is IPOH Lou Wong the chicken rice stall you went to is not that nice. But all of the other places are number one recommended especially the Nam Heong Coffee
Lovely video. Thanks. The pace, footage and information kept me entertained. I would pronounce Ipoh 'ee-poh' (with a long first syllable) rather than like 'hippo'.

Hi there, thanks for your comment! It depends which way you look at the statistics. According to Wikipedia, Ipoh has the third largest population (in metro area) 😃
