The NFC Championship you speak of was played in Philadelphia no Charlotte
The photo shown was when the Panthers defeated the Arizona Cardinals for the 2016 NFC Championship game, winning 49-15.
We had a nfc championship in 2015
I live in Charlotte. The upscale high-rises,condos, and hotels are already being built. County taxes are still footing half of the bill.
They need to reinstall the natural grass. The turf at B of AS is horrible. Lowest rated turf in the NFL.
The Panthers players loved the grass and requested the grass, but Tepper chose field turf .
Used the old Panther logo every time in this video lol
You got to get these soccer teams OUT OF THESE STADIUMS MAN!!! THEY TARE UP THE FEILD!!
Need a dome and better field/turf nothing else
David Tepper should have paid for the renovation himself. He's worth $30 billion!!!!!!!!!!!
This is what happens when AI writes scripts.
Bank of America Stadium is unremarkable, and this renovation (if it happens) won't change that.
I would guess one of the most important things they could do would be to put a roof over the seating to protect fans from rain, but I don't see that in the renderings. I'm not saying they should make it a dome, but a partial roof / overhang could make a big difference.
That's not an iconic stadium by any means.
Not worth the outlay of taxpayer money
It’s iconic for us panthers fans. It’s the only stadium we have ever known and its great location in uptown charlotte is a plus. If we built a new stadium it would be in a much worse location in the suburbs.
GO PANTHERS
"One of the NFLs most iconic stadiums" Oh really.....
I literally laughed at that.
My name is on the building (as a PSL purchaser) We need a new domed stadium not a rehash of a 30 year old one...
Agreed. That’s the only way we could ever be considered for a Super Bowl.
It needs a overhang
I would have supported it if it came with a clause that Tepper had to leave. But I'm just a taxpayer, voter, and Panthers fan, why involve me?
The Bills' new stadium is 1.7, not 1.4, and some estimates have stated 1.9. Even worse, 850 mil comes from NY state. People living 7 hours away will be paying for it. And the state has all future upkeep expenses.
they should have just built a new domed stadium...it doesn't look like a place to attract the Super Bowl...
Forget “city services”, that’s $800 million taken from taxpayers that they could have kept. For NFL teams that can pay grown men tens of millions dollars to play a game, they can pay for their facility.
It’s absolutely not taken from taxpayers in the way you’re saying it so please understand how we work in NC as these funds come from tourism hotel taxes…
@@williamloftin5793 "tourism hotel taxes..." As it is in most places. And....the people paying those TAXES are TAXPAYERS.
Make the owners pay for it. If they take their team to another city, start a new team owned by the city and its taxpayers. I’m sure the rest of the NFL owners won’t mind.
True
At least they’re keeping the stadium outdoors. Everyone else seems to go the arena route.
Carolina hosted the 2015 NFC Championship, not the 2003 edition.
If this stadium is as bad as advertised how could city council approve for upgrade in the coming years? The Panthers owner are the Panthers owner should sell the team if he's so hell bent I guess having a dome.
In America 🇺🇸 stadiums 🏟 are built using tourism taxes on hotel rooms. These funds are allocated only for tourism infrastructure assets. They can't be used for General Fund expenses. Learn about how America 🇺🇸 is really organized 🙄 before making ignorant commentary.
That isn't always true. Many different funding sources are used.
Oh, Gorgeous, Huh?
Sounds like an absurd overpayment by public officials make the owners pay for much more of it.
I hope this falls through and the Panthers leave the Carolinas. Charlotte was much better off as the capital of racin’ and rasslin’.
How about you leave the Carolinas
@ You mean where my family has been the last 350 years? No thanks Yankee, you go home.
