  • CZ457 LRP - Aguila Rifle Match Competition - Ammo Test - 50 Yards
    In this video I will test Aguila Rifle Match Competition , 22 long rifle rimfire ammunition to see how well this ammo performs in my CZ 457 LRP. I have installed a flat blade Timney CZ 457 precision Trigger.
    The test will be composed of 40 shots in total all fired from the prone at 50 yards. I will be recording shot data including (SD, ES, Highest, and lowest velocities, as well as the average velocity) of the ammunition tested. every test begins with 20 fouling shots from a clean barrel bore, followed by 4 - 5 shot groups
    Hope you enjoy the testing and DON'T FORGET TO SUBSCRIBE! , COMMENT, AND LIKE! the video.
    There will be new videos releasing every Sunday morning at 9 am!

    Go back and take a look at this Ryan. Those high shots were all 1165-69fps the ones that grouped were 1138-43fps. I was very interested in this test so thank you for sharing. My interest was it shot so bad in my 455 that I was going to dig a deep whole and bury it ALL in my back yard for fertilizer. That's how frustrated I was yours hot MUCH better.

    I have 5 rifles, only one shot this well.
    The others didn’t care for it much & my groups were larger than you displayed.

    Yeah, not terrible, but definitely not match grade for the prices I'm seeing (US). Seems like sorting would be necessary to be anywhere near competitive with it, which I could do with CCI SV for half the price.

    I just saw that this stuff is in stock where I typically buy from so came back here to get a second look. I've noticed that my new 457's groups open up significantly after 15-25 shots regardless of ammo (SK, Eley, CCI - base accuracy in that order). I'm wondering if you're seeing the same "hot barrel" issue here. I'm going to start measuring barrel temp to see if I can identify a correlation.

    • @BROTUNED
      @BROTUNED  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      For a long time I didn’t clean my barrels until around 500 or so rounds fired and it did very well. Lately I’ve been cleaning between batches and range days. Im starting to think the fouled barrel was more consistent and accurate. Im going to do some testing soon. I know I’m my 6.5 creedmoor and 300 win mag I’ve had better results with a fouled barrel especially on cold bore

      @@BROTUNED Since everyone else was pretty disappointed in Aguila ammo, I'm going to try some different stuff before I mess with my torque. I will go down before I go up to your recommendation. It's CZ who recommended between 20 and 25 in/lbs.
      Looking back, it was decades ago when I had such good luck with Aguila. Back then they were using Eley Prime. I'm not kidding when I say that the 452 I had back then could shoot one hole groups at 50yds. I was outshooting $1200 Kimber's. Funny thing, Kimbers were built using CZ Mini Mauser Actions like my 452 and my 452 was 1/3 the price.

    Kind of disappointing. I bought some new Augila super extra LRN the other day, and it shoots .6-.8" 10 shot groups on average. That is the cheaper lead round nosed stuff. Was $3/box locally, but I don't know what the going price is elsewhere. That was shot in my new CZ457 American, that I recently glass bedded. Seems to be a good rifle, but does not shoot as well as either of my 2 10/22's. I was thinking you were shooting this cheaper ammo, from your groups, so I was surprised to see and hear it was actually the Match Competition ammo. I won't be buying any of that stuff!!! I'd rather spend my money on Federal Automatch!!

    Take the bayonet chronograph off! Have you tried other brands? Have you checked the torque of your action screws? I have a CZ-455 Switch Barrel and have to be careful with my torques. I can't believe your fancy match rifle is shooting so poorly! Aguila has always worked well in my CZ 452 and 455 Switch Barrel.
    I thought I was doing badly with my CZ-452 American with Aguila Super Extra but my groups are much better, less than 1/2" at 50yds.
    By the way, you're mispronouncing the brand name. It's "Agila", Spanish for Eagle.
