I only just became a fan of this band this year.. but after hearing Cadaver/Revadac I was completely blown away. dude in that transition to the guitar solo in this track, the bassist with that tapping lick.. gahhh so sick. They are all incredible, and underappreciated.

Absolutely. I tried playing drums a few times, it's hard. I have some rhythm in me, but to independently control each limb, but in a synchronized manner? Yeah, it's hard. Even if you don't play double bass drums I don't find it particularly easy. I tried bass guitar a little as well, doesn't seem too hard, except that you need to be very precise with the rhythm, as any imperfection, with all the amplification, breaks the song. I guess I stick to rhythm guitar, lol. And to solo piano, at least I don't ruin the experience to a few others :)

Galneryus, undead corporation and doujen, unlucky morpheus, thousand eyes, hone your sense, xjapan, devil within (new), maximum the hormone, yousei teikoku, lovebites, dir en grey (actually have shinyas drum stick from 2011 fillmore show in frisco), Malice mizer, ningen isu, are my favorites. A long list but all worth listening to. So many amazing japanese bands list is necessary to keep track. ENJOY!
Hands down, their best song, quite possibly best JRock song there is. Could be an anime opener, could be played at a party, I just like listening to this by itself as standalone music, it's so versatile and has such an amazing sound. Plus, HER VOICE IS RIDICULOUSLY GOOD. Like that sustained note at 1:38 gives me chills every single time still.
I'm not sure if it's their best. What about CADAVER/REVADAC or "Black Pentagram". I like how the violin is more prominent in those songs and they have amazing guitar solos. Or what about Angreifer or "Get Revenge on the Tyrant" or "Satsuriku no Miseria". Those are very epic too. But then again, you are right her voice in those high notes in "Knight of Sword" are incredible. And the feel of the song is amazing. Damn! They are so good it's so hard to decide which song is my favorite.

To my ear here, this band is a symphonic metal, heavier than a heavy metal. For your reference you can listen to Yngwie Malmsteen, one of the pioneer of Symphonic metal, how heavy his music is, that's all there is to it.
Maybe we have different opinions about symphonic. What I understand is a more modern take or what the definiton of symphonic metal by metal fans or the musician themselves. Like those bands that from europe, with atmospheric sound, orchestral sound combined with metal it can be death metal, black methal, or whatever metal. Dimmu borgir is symphonuc black, fleshgod apocalypse is symphonic death, epica is symphonic metal with fusion of death, and nightwish is symphonic and some progressive with their score song. Those band I mentioned definitely fit the definitin of symphonic metal not this japanese band, this is pure powermetal just like Unleashed the archer or visions of atlantis.

Just play those piece of classical music on a electric guitar, the notes, the sound, the melody are much heavier than power metal. Yngwie put his works as the basis for taking neo-classical music into its true metal nature, then the symphonic metal comes into being. Ok, I agree on some parts that melodic and symphonic are not the same, but all symphonic metal is melodic.

The world is full of great music. Symphonic metal is as good as it gets. Lately bands from all over the world have emerged to carry on genre. Ukraine gave us Symfomania. Kazakhstan gave us Ulytau. Japan gave us Unlucky Morpheus.

Far from symphonic, this is pure power metal. Those galloping drum sound is the signature of power metal, and they use it consistently.

🙏👏 Una verdadera cátedra de cómo hacer un tema "perfecto". Una "Súperbanda": cada uno al mismo "nivel" que el otro. La base bajo/batería hace que toda la magia de U.M. aparezca y fluya "naturalmente". Fumiya es una "máquina" pero con un notable "buen gusto" en cada uno de sus arreglos: es como ver a Yoshiki pero con todas las "actualizaciones de software" al día. En cuanto a Jill, cualquier palabra (y en cualquier idioma) no alcanza para describirla: incluso "sublime" es demasiado poco.
