Hammerhead sharks have an impressive 360-degree vision thanks to their unique head shape. Absolutely amazing creature. Thanks for the amazing content Nat Geo!
To the person reading this, Good Luck! Don't stress, everything will be fine. No matter what difficulty you are facing right now, you can overcome it! You are strong and brave.
I live in Florida and I have seen videos of Hammerheads and some have been 13 to 15 feet . Wherever there's stingrays you'll find Hammerheads and other species of sharks. Sharks also hang around the fishing piers for easy meals.
Awesome Episode National Geographic! At the hour markerb 1:8:35, PHD Kory Garza ìs very intelligent and knowledgable at her craft. Her motivation and "CAN DO" attitude is key for success. Her safety skillsets are "HIGHLY IMPECCABLE" not to mention how attractive she truly is. 🎉 Excellent episode. Very educational. 😮😮😮
Watching these people dive fearlessly with those massive sharks is absolutely mind-blowing and inspiring! 😲👏 It’s incredible to see their courage and calmness up close!
Single biggest thing is the body language. No arched backs means you're generally okay if you stay alert and know what to do. An arched back means attack/self-defense mode, as in no more slow, cautious, curious approaches.
What a wonderful experience you had with the whale and her calf! And a beautiful memory to last a lifetime. Thank you for sharing that.😊 I heard another story on U-tube about a lady that had interactions twice with the same whale. She was protected from a large shark and rode the whale to her boat. Whales are not monsters, and we are not on the food chain for them either. I love whales, they are my favorite animal, ever since I saw them as a child riding the ferry with family in Seattle. They are so majestic and beautiful swimming in their natural environment! If you ever ran into the whale again, she would remember you, they don't forget and are very smart and caring animals.❤
I'm adding a second comment because I wanted to tell a story of my own experience having little to do with sharks. Off the coast of Maine in New England USA, we have an array of sharks and whales. I was privileged while on a cruise in 1970 (under sail) when the wind had dropped and I dove in for a swim. A very large creature rose up from the depths and saw me before I saw her. It was a Right Whale and beside and around it were some marine creatures, including her calf who gave the whale plenty of distance. I saw the whale's eye which was the size of a dinner plate and knew I was safe with her. I have a way with animals I don't know where it comes from and it's not my place to ask, only to accept and abide by its limitations. The whale decided she wanted to swim with me. She offered me a flipper to ride with her and she circled the boat several times, her baby following along. I was 15 at the time and my parents were frantic. The whale breached near the boat I think because she wanted to show them I was safe with her. As she re-entered the water, the wave sucked me under her. She made sure to push me back up to breathe. They were so shocked they shut up and watched. I was in the water for no more than about 20 minutes with my new friend and understood that this was an experience I had to treasure for the gift that it was. She came up for air and sent a spout up as high as she could and then dove under me back into the depths. As a goodbye, she slapped her tail fin sending water all over the boat. I know animals and I can tell you they are far more intelligent than most people understand. When you show them respect that they understand, you will never be attacked.
WOW LIKE OH MY GOODNESS WOW!N That literally gave me goosebumps to read that. That must have been the most incredible experience ever My only question is How can anything else in life top that experience that was an AWESOME AWESOME STORY THAKS FOR SHAING
I used to walk fields for arrowheads when I was younger.... I found a couple pieces of faceted hematite and had no idea what they were .. but I kept them knowing they were something.... now I know lol. Keep on keeping on Rocks 👍🏼
❤THIS!!!! No joke, i legit ordered a simple light bulb that wouldve been $5 at the hardware store for over 3k for a DESK on my TTWCS system. Those folks making bank while military crew make less than minimum wage when all hours are calculated in.
Jeez, did you see the size of that hook? They had to use bolt cutters to catch and release. Thanks for loving all God's creatures. Not just the cute ones!
But those hooks were from a long long time ago when it wasn’t illegal to catch them. I am sure smaller ones get caught on accident, but it’s illegal due to an international trade of endangered species to even do anything to them. I know in China they eat shark fin soup, and maybe they still do things to them, but I think most places you’d never mess with them. That’s why they are making a big comeback.
I was always under the impression that the biggest sizes of a Giant HH was on average in a 13-18ft. Hearing 14ft was the longest GHH was very surprising. 😮
Kinda funny the statement. When you were raised and lived in Fl. He said it's hard to find the hammerhead. NOT in my life! I seen school and schools of babies. And everytime I went waist deep to fish I'd hook a small one. And one swam around me cause it wanted my bait bucket. Gawd, I got stories. Guess it's true to the rule. When you look for something hard, you won't find it
You know it doesnt make for good entertainment if they didnt throw in 30 minutes of "looking" footage. If their viewers knew where to find the sharks, they'd be trying to be NatGeos too😂
How can they claim biggest bull shark in the ocean? The ocean is HUGE. Theres like 100% chance that there is a bigger one. Seems kind of short-sighted if you ask me.
I took a ride in a kayak behind a hammerhead shark over the length of my 20ft two person kayak we had a 3hr tour before I cut his majesty loose. Bull sharks are tough and put up a fight, but a massive hammerhead just cruises and when that massive animal finally comes to the surface you are being blessed with one of God's greatest blessings, make sure you snap the hook so it works out, but be very careful, they are actually very gentle animals.
It's true, as they're just living within their own natural environment. It's "we" animals that always enter "their" personal space/territories & cause great disturbance & annoyance to them. They then "react" if close by, as is to be obviously expected, yet, we deem them one of earth's most wild & dangerous creatures. Yes, they can be & they are dangerous for sure, but "only" when we cause them too much grief & they can smell our scent or our blood, but on the flip side, they may not find us too palatable @ all, as most seem to believe.
If "you are being blessed with one of God's greatest blessings" why are you sticking a hook in it and forcing it to tow your around for hours? Just more evil hidden behind an imaginary story.
The biggest shark I've ever seen is a hammer head shark and I've seen one in abaco Bahamas at the time. It wasnt big bodies like the doc made them look and it was dark brown to black in color. Lanky but considerably equally proportioned. It was about 15 feet long from head to tail and was about 35 mph soeed

Hammerheads are not dangerous towards humans unless you are a stingray

To locate the hammerheads use my technique. Just ask yourself if I was a hammerhead where would I go ? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
They're unpredictable 😳
Id probably check the nail fish. They are probably over there 😏

Sharks are so fascinating.
Hammerhead sharks, haven’t you guys ever gone to cedar key FL in the gulf? There are tons, they breed there too. We see babies there as well.
If you swim in the ocean splashing it will attract sharks, and the test bit is devastating.
WD Fields is the hammerhead expert cause she's from the Bahamas Hammerhead capitol!😂

Why is it so hard to find a normal narrator? Instead of the usual over dramatic sounds like he's narrating world war 2 guy.
Real😂😭
You could always try to take the job
😂
What is “normal?” Would you rather the narrator put you to sleep?
At least its not a cringe AI narrator.
You may not believe it, but these two segments are what people like to watch the most

Ok that's good!
Those times don't seem significant in this video.
Amazing shark deep blue ❤ she’s huge ❤
The goofy bird noises the 1 lady makes had me laughing so much
Kept reminding me of the sounds in that goofy song, "What Does The Fox Say?" 😁🤣😂😂🦊🎶
More like the avatar noises the natives made
You guys are sorely missing a 30-pack of natty ice out there.
The state of that lady 🤣🤣💀
Yeah especially when the tiger shark is only about 6 to 8 foot long!!😂
when you enter the ocean you are entering the food chain ...
Well I feel a little less safe swimming just south of palm beach now 😂 thankfully the area I’m in hasn’t had a shark attack in years
Rubber boat to meet sharks, strike 1.

I’ve been to Bahia Honda. It’s beautiful. It’s kinda scary now knowing that there are so many sharks there because we snorkeled there.

I caught a hammerhead shark in 1979 that was almost 18 feet long for bait for the crab trap
Holy cow!!! How big were the Crabs??? 😂😂😂.
You didn't let it go? It's gotten so large It's a treasure to the ocean.
I’m sorry, you’re gonna title a video “MOST DANGEROUS SHARKS” and then start with a hammerhead?????? One of the most harmless???????????
Tais tois
You all blame someone for something
They just dropped a bunch of BRUVs into the ocean and left em for the sharks 😂😂
