As a patient of Cleveland Clinic Functional Medicine, I can say that they are expert at getting at the root cause of problems instead of an Rx that only suppresses symptoms but always creates even worse side effects long term. Pretty simple: eat real food, exercise, reduce stress, and concentrate on a good nights sleep.

All those tests cost lots of money, I have done some due to serious illness. It's not so easy, I do have healthy eating habits, no ultra processed food at all. There is slight improvement regarding the hair but still not as I used have.
The next phase that won’t cost you money is to remove inflammatory, addictive and commonly allergic foods. See if you have nutritional deficiencies like D or B . Taking something that has high zinc can help too. Aging will inevitably be the cause but there are things you can do without the cost of all the expensive tests.

Ask your Dr to do a hormone test, my DHT in 2016 was very high. I started taking Ashwagandha 600 mg and I checked again after year it was 320 it should be between 200 to 100 now. I also have leaky gut which it doesn’t help. Hashimoto and I’m going through menopausal BS 🤦🏽♀️ lol. Zinc, selenium and D3/K2 is a must as well.

I have thinning at my crown. It started after breast, uterine cancer, and getting tossed into post menopause like a washer machine suddenly. Just tell me what I need to do, including cosmetic procedures.
Glad you mentioned Iron! I thought I was dying a couple summers ago. I'd been eating mostly fruit many months and tend to eat a vegetarian diet so my iron deficient anemia came on gradually until I couldn't stay awake, sit up in bed or even hold a thought. I was terribly pale. It got BAD. One day after laying in bed for weeks it dawned on me how I'm always "borderline anemic". I grabbed iron bisglycinate from my supplement drawer and next day I woke able to sit, make a call, hold a conversation... I was stunned with relief. I kept taking the supplements plus greens, rooibos tea, eventually made myself eat a few oz of beef ea week. Unfortunately, it often takes many months to regain healthy ferritin stores (Dr Hyman mentioned). My hair loss worsened until a few weeks of taking iron passed. It was terrible feeling every little draft on my scalp, having big balls of hair after running fingers through it. I'm just glad I caught it when I did so keep your iron intake in mind.
I started peptide collagen bovine organic powder and my hair stopped falling out. Female 75 years young. Also take vitamin K2. Cyst disappeared after three months. Not sure if it will work for men.
I was surprised to learn about the connection between insulin resistance, sugar intake, and DHT levels. It's a great reminder that hair loss is often a symptom of underlying health issues. I'm definitely going to pay more attention to my diet and lifestyle to see if I can improve my own hair health. Thanks for sharing.
Yes, it does. However, it needs to be mixed with pure castor oil & virgin cold pressed coconut oil. Barbara O'neil has discussed this plenty @@godzillamanstreb524

DHT is an aftercause, not cause of hairloss! Why would testestorne make you grow hair everywhere else but cause hair loss on the scalp? Hair loss is a multiple factor issue but it really our environment. Hair is not a "critical organ" so people are more likely to lose it as the body doesn't deem it a survival thing. The reason some experience it more than others is INDIRECTLY linked with genetics; meaning for some people the body DE-prioritizes hair to deal with other issues in the body; for others your DNA rather cause you bone and other issues before you see hair loss; it will happen to anyone if they put their body through chronic stress over time. The way to reverse it is to understand what happens clearly. Aside from improving diet and environment, scalp massages and microneedling would help greatly. The dht measured is due to cholesterol being dispatched to the scalp to create "scar tissue" to seal the hair follicles AFTER you experienced hair loss
Because the receptors in the scalp are more sensitive to DHT . 8m not sure where you are getting your information when there are tons of research papers indicating DHT results in hair loss..... Just as this Dr is talking about.....
